In her duties as the Queen of the Underworld and the Judge of the dead, she maintains a casually calm, reserved manner but is capable of being terrifying merciless and undiscriminating, for in the Underworld there's only justice.

Laurel is noted to be a particularly honorable and just as well as a harsh goddess. She respects oaths and the laws of morality.

Laurel's respect for the law and her code of conduct is evident as she's the supreme judge of the dead souls and of all creatures that come from the Underworld.
Medea makes it clear to Emma Norrington, Jr., before completely banishing her to the Underworld, that her goddess is infuriated by those who've managed to escape just punishment for their crimes.

On a lighter note, when she is not the implacable Queen of the Dead, Laurel is a very easy-going, although she is not a fan of other beings going to the Underworld without her permission, she rarely scolds the du Cronos twins and Liath when they do, specially to Amy, the two of them are sort-of best friends and battle sisters, they train together and have sparring contests, and are known as the two best warrior deities. It is implied that Laurel once felt something for Amy.

When it comes to Anthony, is... difficult, as stuff with Anthony always is. They're clear polar opposites as Anthony represents the ultimate and warm light (the Sun), and Laurel rules the dark and cold Underworld, also, in their first meeting, Laurel made it very clear that if it wasn't for Anthony's new godhood, she was sure she was going to send Anthony to the Ninth Circle of Hell itself, along with the other traitors. But she rarely has a hard time when Anthony pays her a visit, she finds him/her "devilishly charming", it is unknown if they ever had a... thing, together, specially with Anthony's character and Laurel's very fine with having lovers and casual relationships.

And then, there's Medea.
Laurel's favorite human, her chosen champion and daughter figure.
These two have history together, in their first meeting Medea was a naïve, joyful and enthusiastic necromancer, and Laurel was, well, the Queen.
Medea was eager to become the "Eye of Laurel'' and she quickly found herself in the Underworld in many occasions, not only to report the Queen about her progress, but also just to chat with her and spending time together.
Laurel wasn't fan of the idea of Medea going to search Warren Norrington's trainment, but she knew it was for the best, Medea even tried to have a chat with her before deciding to go with the demon, but the goddess, from that point, ignored all her calls and rituals, making Medea think she had disappointed her.
The necklace in Medea's possesion, the one she never wears off, is a symbol of her and Laurel's union as patron and champion.

Medea and Laurel's relationship reached its peak when in the middle of the Atlantic War, Medea exhausted most of her magic and life force to summon a legion of undead warriors, Laurel dragged her to the Underworld and literally saved her life by merging with her, giving birth to the ultimate patron/host form and becoming Asura.

Although it was not Laurel's first merging with a champion, she seemed very proud and pleased with their power as Asura.

It is quite exhaustive to tell every single moment they had together but, once, Laurel gave Medea the most beautiful gift she could: life.
The goddess of the dead arranged for her favorite human to have a child with her wife. Gerard Way is the blessed son of Medea, and the last gift for her.

Laurel Nasuka is a Dragon Goddess revered as the ruler of the Underworld, the judge of the dead, and Hell. She holds immense power over the souls of the departed and the forces of Death itself. Laurel is also known to bless necromancers, granting them authority over the dead and allowing them to tap into her power. Despite her association with Death, Laurel also embodies rebirth, representing the cycle of death, and renewal.

She has a special relationship with Medea Norrington. Medea is not only one of her devoted followers but also her champion in the Upper World. As Laurel's "Eye", Medea acts as a mediator between the world of the living and the dead. She carries out Laurel's will and enforces her laws in the mortal realm.

While not much is known about Laurel's past, as she tends to keep to herself and doesn't engage in idle chatter with anybody outside her temple, it is believed that she hails from the Eastern Dragon Realm, as she takes the form of a wyvern. Despite being a new goddess, she was granted godhood a couple of centuries before Anthony.

She used to be a priestess in the temple of the former Ruler of the Underworld, the god Lernain, practiced necromancy when she was a mortal dragon and has mentioned two brothers.

Laurel has played a significant role in Medea's journey, appearing as a guiding force in her quest for power, redemption, and responsibility. Despite the occasional lack of response in her rituals, it was all part of Laurel's plan to toughen Medea up and make her stronger. Laurel knew that Medea had to survive Warren's gruelling training without relying on external help to become fearless and therefore more powerful. As her patron goddess, Laurel has always been there for Medea, even if it wasn't always apparent.

After four years of rigorous training with Warren, Laurel appeared once again to Medea, when the sorceress decided to atone for her past mistakes. Laurel not only acknowledged her own desire for redemption, but she also offered Medea her aid, referring to her as an "old friend". To solidify their renewed bond, Laurel gifted Medea with a necklace bearing a red star symbolizing their union as servant and master. This necklace also marked Medea as The Eye of Laurel, though it is uncertain when she would formally receive the title.

Laurel recognized the toll that Medea's time with Warren had taken on her, both physically and mentally. So, in an act of mercy and care, she chose to have Medea sealed within a tree for a year and a day. This state of supernatural suspended animation allowed Medea's injuries to heal and gave her time to cleanse her mind of the trauma she had endured while training with Warren.

To ensure that Medea would not be disturbed during this time, Laurel allowed Anthony du Cronos, another of her champions, to use his powers to manipulate the tree's branches and keep anyone from approaching or interfering. This gave Medea the time and space she needed to recover and prepare for the next phase of her journey.

Then along came the V7D!

TRIVIA:

• Laurel's "penitence stare" is based on Hel's (Queen of Helheim) description in norse mythology, however, this shape is not real and is just a disguise to induce terror in the wrongdoers while judging the dead, while Hel was born that way.

• Some of the characters that inspired Laurel were Persephone, Hel, The Morrigan, Isis and Ereshkigal.

• Laurel is also the goddess of rebirth, as the souls of the dead that were heroic, good, or even mediocre are given the opportunity to be reborn. The only souls Laurel forbids the opportunity are the wrongdoers, bad, evil and wicked ones.

• Laurel was named after the laurel tree.

• Her last name, Nasuka, means "Night shade".

Laurel has the ultimate powers a god can possess. They are rivaled only by those of Amy, the war goddess.
Her list of powers include:

GEOKINESIS:
As the Goddess of the Underworld, Laurel has absolute control over all the earth and stones, as well as the walls of the Underworld.

• Laurel is skilled in navigating under the earth, even before she became the Ruler of the Underworld. Hence, Laurel was able to go in and out of Hell itself via a complex network of Underworld tunnels (again, shen she was only a dragon priestess).

• Laurel can generate a massive earthquake that shakes her huge throne room, and is felt miles above her.

NECROMANCY:
As the Goddess of the Dead and the Lady of the Underworld, Laurel has divine authority and absolute control over the deceased in a more infinite level than Medea's.

• Laurel can reanimate skeletons, call forth endless waves of the dead to fight for her, destroy zombie warriors, and put them to sleep. She can also silence dead souls with a gesture, and physically take hold of ghosts.

• Laurel is also able to place curses on the living. While she is unable to kill people before its time, she can prevent a mortal soul from ever leaving their body. This will mean that a someone's body will eventually turn to dust with age, while their soul will be lost forever.

• Laurel can sense when a person is dying.

• Laurel can sense life auras. This can help her determine how much longer someone has left to live.

OSTEOKINESIS:
As the Goddess of the Dead, Laurel can summon and telekinetically control numerous bones at once.

MONSTER / CANINES LORDSHIP:
Laurel has absolute control over ferocious monsters native to her realm, such as her she-wolf familiar Keri, and the Hellhounds, various daimons, along with many others.

• Since wolves and dogs are her sacred animals, she has divine authority over any species of canine (although she seems to have preference for wolves) through her familiar, Keri, the mother of Hellhounds and all the wolves.

UMBRAKINESIS:
As the Goddess of the Underworld, Laurel has absolute control over shadows and darkness – the same as Medea, but hers are tremendously more powerful and with little to no side effect.

• She can shoot solid bolts of darkness, and surround enemies into pitch black clouds of lightless space.

• She can solidify shadows into virtually impenetrable shields, which are strong enough to deflect even Malebolgia's steel.

• She can use shadows to cover herself in darkness to become invisible. She can pass through walls and melt into shadows, not be touched, seen or heard by anyone, even other dragon gods.

INFERNAL PYROKINESIS:
Laurel has absolute control over hellfire, which is considerably more destructive than normal flames.

INFERAL CRYOKINESIS:
Laurel's dominion over disturbingly low temperatures and ice are supported by the fact that, in her Hell, the lower you go, the more cold it is. The Ninth Circle of Hell is worse than being naked in Antarctica. Some of her known abilities include:

• The ability to create or summon blizzards and hailstorms.

• Freezing people and objects.

• Immunity to cold.

• Burrowing with choice between simply gliding through ice or leaving a tunnel.

• Cold manipulation and generation.

• She might use attacks based on ice and snow, but they're not THAT necessary as she prefers to just feeeze her problems away. It's quicker.

INDUCED TERROR:
Laurel can radiate death and terror to an incredible degree, she can radiate fear so intense that it can easily drive a person insane or stop their heart, this power is at its peak with her "penitence stare", the left half of her face becomes horridly burned and scarred, she uses this "form" when punishing wrongdoers.
