Ayuuki Carmilla Strafford is a Highblood Vampire and the current Pontifex Maximvs of the Tempio della Dualità Divina—the global religious institution that worships Anthony du Cronos and Laurel Nasuka.

She governs this faith from the grand temple located in Città della Dualità (formerly known as Vatican City), a holy capital transformed under her leadership. Her spiritual authority is comparable to that of the Pope in our world, wielding immense political and symbolic power across nations.

Both Anima (Anthony) and Laurel recognize her as a vital religious figure, often attending her sacred rites and occasionally granting divine blessings in person. As a Highblood Vampire, Ayuuki possesses a terrifying blend of supernatural elegance and cosmic monstrosity, making her appear almost like a demigod in Norrington’s Desire.

It's later revealed that Ayuuki is also aligned with the du Cronos Dynasty, serving as one of Anthony’s Seven Deadly Sins, where she represents the Sin of Envy during the Dynasty’s invasion of the Under World.

Even more impressively, Ayuuki is one of the rare living beings to have met The Unholy Matrimony (the prelude form of the du Cronos Dynasty’s founders) before the coup against Geist. She once traveled with them as part of their Siege Party, forming close bonds with both Akane and Anthony during their journey.

She is also revealed to be Yuki Strafford's mother as well as Valentino Chevalier's estranged wife.

 

As a full-fledged highblood vampire, Ayuuki possesses a versatile array of powers typical of her kind, leveled up to its fullest potential compared to Youngbloods like her daughter:

FUNCTIONAL IMMORTALITY (Highblood Tier)
Unlike Miyuki, who passively relies on blood to fuel cellular regeneration, Ayuuki’s physiology has evolved into a refined biochemical engine, capable of dynamically analyzing, breaking down, and repurposing blood from various sources (human, vampire, animal) with high efficiency.

• Multisource Compatibility: Ayuuki can process a wider variety of blood types with minimal rejection or energy loss. Even low-quality or spoiled blood can be partially metabolized.




• Hemomemetic Cells: Specialized blood-processing cells store rare compounds, enzymes, and stem-cell signatures from past feedings, letting her "recall" molecular blueprints for reconstruction without constant feeding.

Ayuuki has entered a true post-aging phase, where her body sustains a permanent, mature adult form (roughly mid-to-late 40s) without further biological decay. At near-death thresholds, Ayuuki’s body executes a recursive override protocol that shuts down non-essential systems and directs all remaining resources to preserving consciousness and vital structures.

• Brainstem Priority: Unlike Miyuki, Ayuuki’s brain is decentralized—frontal lobe destruction doesn't end her unless her entire cranial matrix is neutralized.

Drawbacks:

Metabolic Spiral
Despite her power, Ayuuki still depends on blood—just more efficiently. Deprivation leads to cognitive degradation, hallucinations, and eventual blood rage or torpor. The longer she goes without feeding, the more unstable her regeneration becomes, though unlike Miyuki, she can go an entire day without feeding.

Energy Ceiling
The more damage she takes, the more energy is required to repair it. Massive or repeated trauma (e.g., being blown apart, incinerated, or decapitated multiple times) forces her into a suspended state where healing cannot proceed without external energy input (like a ritual, transfusion, or bloodbath).

Ayuuki's muscle fibers exhibit hexagonal compression density, letting her deliver double the force Miyuki can with less tissue strain. She can shatter reinforced steel with a focused strike, lift vehicles, or pulverize stone using measured effort—not flailing brute force.

Drawbacks:

Energy Prioritization
Ayuuki’s body is highly efficient but not limitless. If forced to simultaneously regenerate from major trauma and use her full strength/speed, even her system begins to strain. Blood reserve management becomes critical. If caught in a high-output state without feeding, her muscles can microtear, and reflexes will begin to lag. Unlike Miyuki, she won’t collapse... but will begin to “lag” like an overheating machine, with noticeable slowdowns.

Shock Overload
Although highly resistant, non-kinetic attacks like electricity, light-based stuns or Nicoletta's distortion bullet that bypass muscle performance and hit her neuro-muscular communication directly, causing tremors or brief paralysis.

SHAPESHIFTING (Highblood Tier)
Ayuuki’s control over bloodmass and instinctual templates is far more refined than Miyuki’s, allowing her to enter, exit, and sustain forms without cognitive interference or metabolic strain. Where Miyuki obeys her curse’s blueprints, Ayuuki has learned to rewrite them mid-shift.

Wolf Form
Ayuuki shifts into a large, shadow-furred wolf, twice the mass of Miyuki’s version, closer to a matured Velkanian Wolf than even the largest dire wolf. Her form is far more durable and strong than Miyuki’s, as she can bite through steel mesh, tear apart doors, and bowl over humanoid enemies. Her senses shift dynamically, adjusting focus depending on prey behavior: heartbeat, heat signature, spiritual essence, or sound. She retains full tactical reasoning, none of Miyuki’s instinctual mental fog.

Drawbacks:
- Still lacks opposable limbs, cannot manipulate tools or fight in complex terrain (urban environments, for example).

• Her blood glows can betray her stealth under the right light or magical detection.

Swarm of Bats
Ayuuki dissolves into a swarm of hundreds of vampiric bats, each larger, stronger, and more aggressive than Miyuki’s swarm. Each bat has a limited regenerative tether, able to take small hits and rejoin the swarm. The bats can also briefly surround an ally or herself as a living armor layer, deflecting projectiles or fire-based attacks for 1–2 seconds.

Drawbacks:
- Area-of-effect attacks like fire, light magic, or explosives still threaten her greatly.

• Too many bat deaths too quickly cause massive feedback pain and memory corruption in reassembly—she can “black out” temporarily during reintegration.

Mist Form
Ayuuki unravels into a dense, pearlescent black mist, thicker than Miyuki’s and infused with semi-sentient vapor tendrils. Her mist is highly controlled—able to hover, pulse, reshape, or obscure entire rooms in seconds. Can interact with air pressure to whisper through vents, rattle doors, or mimic voices faintly.

Drawbacks:
- Still vulnerable to high winds, vacuums, fire, and air filtration.

• If dispersed too far or too fast, reassembly can trigger phantom limb phenomena, where her body re-materializes with errors (e.g., missing fingers, delayed reaction time) for several seconds.

VAMPIRIC CONVERSION PROTOCOL
Ayuuki’s blood carries an arch-vampiric mutagen, an evolved strain of the vampiric curse that is both genetically aggressive and soul-reactive. The agent is dual-faceted, fusing both a biological virus-like vector and a soul-based spiritual parasite. This hybrid agent not only rewrites a body’s cellular integrity but attaches part of Ayuuki’s essence to it, creating an unbreakable soul-link between sire and progeny.

** Step 1 – Draining (Death Phase Initiation):**
Like all vampires, Ayuuki must drain a human to the brink of death, suppressing their immune and energetic systems. However, her bite secretes anesthetic enzymes and neuroparalytics, creating a euphoric, trance-like state that makes most subjects accept their death willingly—bypassing resistance and spiritual rejection.

Step 2 – Blood Injection (Template Imposition):
She feeds the victim a precise amount of her blood—not by instinct, but with ritualized control, determining whether the subject becomes an Unblooded immediately or upon a trigger.

ENHANCED SENSES (Highblood Tier)
Where Miyuki's senses are heightened, Ayuuki's are integrated into an ongoing tactical awareness engine. Her perception is predatory, analytical, and sometimes cruelly precise.

HEARING – Resonance Discrimination: Her auditory system can isolate specific vocal cords, muscle twitches, or even heartbeat pacing from across a crowded room. Her brain filters out background noise dynamically, like a real-time mixing console.

SMELL – Hemochemical Profiling: Ayuuki’s sense of smell functions like a living forensic lab. She can identify:

WEAKNESSES

SUNLIGHT SENSITIVITY
Not much. She basically becomes a Youngblood vampire during the day, but without the dizziness or hangover effects sunlight causes to Youngbloods.

HOME INVITATION RULE
Unlike Miyuki, who experiences psychic static and nausea when pushing into a space uninvited, Ayuuki doesn’t experience vertigo or nausea, instead, she is hit with a spiritual dissonance: a hum in her bones, a drag on her soul, like walking into the wrong body or a dream not meant for her.

GARLIC AVERSION
Where Miyuki’s body instinctively rejects garlic as overstimulating and chaotic, Ayuuki can tolerate it in small doses, but prolonged exposure creates a disruption field that subtly interferes with her supernatural precision. Garlic’s sulfur compounds don’t burn her or melt her skin—but they overstimulate her hyper-developed senses, especially her olfaction-linked sensory processing system.

• It’s like trying to sing while someone screams directly into your ears.




• The scent muddies her blood-scent tracking, dulls her emotional mapping, and weakens her ability to distinguish intent through hormonal shifts.

HIGHBLOOD DEATH PROTOCOL
The steps are pretty much the same, however...

Pierce the Heart
The heart must be pierced, but not just with any weapon.

• Ayuuki’s heart is hardened by calcified iron-rich blood, encased in layered muscle denser than stone.




• Only soul-attuned weapons, weapons bathed in consecrated blood, or high-temperature silver/god-blessed tools can reliably reach it.




• Piercing her heart disables regeneration, blood manipulation, shapeshifting, and psychic tethering, but not her consciousness.

Sever the Head
Ayuuki’s neural system is redundant, having evolved two cognitive centers: one in the brain and a secondary in the upper spinal cord (a vampiric "soul stem").

• You must cleanly sever the entire head and the first four vertebrae to prevent back-loop reanimation.




• Her neck bones are reinforced with memory-linked ossification, making decapitation extremely difficult without precision and immense force.

After these two, the remaining steps are actually pretty much the same as is it for Youngbloods:

Burn Both – Incineration destroys the vampiric contagion’s ability to rebuild or reconstitute from remnants.

Scatter the Ashes – Dispels the soul-echo and prevents spiritual anchoring or reformation via external magic/blood ritual.
