Alec is a bit of a braggart, often boasting of his achievements in the king's army as a young man before retiring to own a tavern in Bassen. He is a mentor to Louis Rennerman, and helped to save his life during the raids, forming a strong bond and companionship with the others in Bassen. Alec is jolly and cheerful, and his death devastates the others, especially Louis.
