Divine Powers

General Description

The Creator's Soul is designated as such by five unique "Divine Powers":

  • The Power of Vision

  • The Power of Elements

  • The Power of Forms

  • The Power of Soul

  • The Power of Life

These are fueled not by specific Elemental Energy, but by unique Soul Cores containing "divine" energy. Each of the Powers plays a vital role in allowing the Creator to perform their duties. Most of them are used in a similar manner to ordinary elemental magic; once called on by conscious thought, they duplicate their unique energy to be sent through the wielder's energy channels.

Unlike most cores, those of the Creator's Powers may be duplicated in any portion and bestowed on to others. The Creator may "turn off" certain parts of a copied Power and send a weaker version if they choose.

There is also a failsafe built into the Powers, to be activated upon the Creator's death. Because the nature of the role ties them so intrinsically to the structure of Zeta itself, if the Creator were to cease to exist, the universe would go with them. If another person causes the Creator to meet their end, the Powers are passed onto them to prevent this from happening. If it's by natural causes or the Creator's own hand, the Powers go to a predetermined successor. If none is chosen, or if the successor dies and no replacement is chosen beforehand, the Powers simply dissipate along with the Creator's soul, as well as the entirety of Zeta.

This intrinsic link between the Powers and Zeta prevents the Powers from affecting any other universe.

Divine Energy

This energy is found in the cores that provide the Divine Powers, and nowhere else. The name "divine energy" is more of a catch-all term, as each of the five Power cores have different rules governing their behavior and appearance. They have little in common with normal cores and are thus impossible to replicate without the Creator's aid.

Power of Vision

The Creator is blessed with approximate omnipresence. They may peer and listen into any area of Zeta no matter what their physical location is, using a sort of "second sight." This power even works between Zeta and the Creator's universe, allowing them to watch over Zeta without being physically present inside it.

This Vision only grants sight of one location at a time — the field of view is the same as with the Creator's ordinary sight — and powerful mages with a strong Magic Sense may realize they are being spied on.

Power of Elements

The Creator's soul contains a unique core of Elemental Energy that acts as a combination of many other cores. They are granted access to all New elements, as well as Space Magic and Time Magic.

As with all elemental magic, possession does not equal mastery.

Power of Forms

The Creator possesses the ability to alter their physical form however they wish. While normal Alternate Forms allow for only a single specific choice of appearance, the Creator is theoretically limited only by their imagination.

In practice, because the possibilities of the Creator's form are endless, this also means that the transformation process is a gradual one. Rather than completely switching between each form in seconds, the Creator must make alterations piece by piece with conscious effort. They may learn to adopt certain forms more quickly with practice.

Power of Soul

The Creator has access to the full range of Soul Control magic. They may view, alter, move, and even destroy the souls of other beings as they please, with significantly less mental strain than is inflicted on others attempting to use this magic.

Aside from Soul Viewing, all actions require physical contact with the target.

Power of Life

The most intrinsically tied to the Creator's role. They have the unique ability to grant life to the lifeless, well as to create matter and energy from nothing. Modifications to existing creations, such as appearance, personality, and memories also fall under this Power.

Unlike the other four, the Power of Life may not be used while the Creator is physically present in Zeta. The sheer amount of energy released would cause serious damage to the structure and balance of such a small universe.

It is possible for the Creator to leave Zeta, create something, and then return to interact with their creation, but travel between universes takes too much time and energy for this to be abused in high-speed situations like combat. The unpredictable nature of time in Zeta relative to other universes also means that by the time the Creator returns, circumstances may have changed dramatically.

Any modifications to a living creation (including their memories, personality, etc.) may be resisted by the target if they are too strong of will or if the changes are too drastic.
