Alexander- Greek origin, means “defender of men “

Bailey- Middle English origin, refers back to the word “baille”, meaning “outer wall of the castle.”

Burn was one of those characters who I just kinda chose his name without caring too much for the significance.
The most significance you could put to his name is the defender parts to showing his role as a knight, but that is about where it ends.

Burn doesn't care too much about how he dresses so he keeps it very casual. Usally a plain long sleeved shirt and jeans. The only time he seems to dress up more is during colder months, he has a very nice collection of jackets, scarfs and gloves that makes him look a little more put together on a regular day.

Normal: Stiff posture, hands always on this sides or behind his back. Doesn’t fidget much and always is ready for orders.

Excited: Relaxes a lot, smiles all nice and stuff, might ramble on a bit more about whatever is making him excited.

Sad/Upset: Blank stare, does his best to not show his emotions and is very successful at it. If he’s alone he might cry a lot more but it’s usually silent and you’d never notice.

Angry: Loud and firm when he is angry, towers over whoever he is talking to, if it’s alone he will be having a nice session with a punching bag. He hates being angry with others and himself so after and outburst he apologizes.

Lying: Surprisingly good at lying, he doesn’t lie often and is quite loyal and trustworthy but that means he can get away with lies. He might sweat a bit but overall doesn’t physically react much.

Flustered/embarrassed: Incomprehensible speech and movements, he doesn’t get embarrassed often but when he does it complete throws him off guard.

Bored: Tries his best to focus, but he zones out and his expression turns blank. With this his head tilts downward just the slightest bit too.

He wants to protect the Fire kingdom as much as possible and keep peace amongst the people

First glance, Burn is a stern and stoic person with little to no time for funny business. A model dragon knight who is powerful and not be messed with. When you get to know him Burn is just an awkward guy who is great at putting on a professional facade in front of his colleagues. He has a bit of a temper, easily getting irritated at people who are way too hyper and don't tone it down or generally don't listen to him. Burn doesn't have too much confidence in himself, often allowing his accomplishments to fade into the background and letting others taking the spotlight. Fiercely protective of people who connect with him.

Rane, Fire Guardian Territory

Burn was born to Blaze Bailey and Roman Reed after a 'vegas wedding' situation. Roman was human and Blaze was unaware of this as he was in the Guardian realm with his sister who was planning on marrying someone else.

Blaze was heavily against humans being in the magical world and didn't know Roman long enough to even gain that type of information. Once she did find out, took an infant Burn with her out of spite. Any attempt for Roman to contact her was a dead end.

Blaze started to intensely control every aspect of Burn's life, becoming stricter and stricter, pushing him to be more Guardian than human every day. Often she told him that he has 'filthy blood' running in his veins and if he wants to erase it then Burn had to listen to her.

Burn would have a sense of self-hatred and shame from an early age as he felt the pressure from his mother. He often lashed out in anger and frustration as he has no other way to truly cope with his negative feelings which resulted in punishment from Blaze.

Punishment would usually include being locked in a closet. Each time it happened he would be left in there for a while, usually he started to panic as he felt even more unsafe and trapped. His only form of coping during that time was his stuffed cat for comfort, he kept it tucked away in a corner and hidden away from his mother as he feared she would take it away.

When Burn was around 10 years old he began to wonder about his father's whereabouts. This made his mother frustrated as all she would reveal is that he was a "lying, good for nothing asshole human." The vague nature of her comments only made him want to find more information, but there was nothing he could gather.

It wasn't until Burn was 12 at a family gathering where Blaze had been ranting to her sister and Burn's aunt, Eliane, about Roman as old feelings had resurfaced. She had complained about Burn wanting to know more how his father and how she can't dealwith a man like him anymore, placing the blame on Burn for her discomfort. Although Eliane was not one to involve herself in her sister's life anymore, she pulled Burn aside and give him the real story. She told him how Roman and Blaze met and rushed into a realtionship, then rushed getting married after she was pregnant all in the span of 6 months. He never brought up how he was human as humans are pretty accepted in the Guardian world and it was too late by the time that Blaze found out.

Eliane offered to try to contact Roman somehow for Burn as long as he kept their interaction a secret and to never bring it up unless she talks to him about it first. Burn agreed and began to wait paitently for Eliane to get back to him.

During this time, Burn's magical abilities began to get out of control with no matter how much he trained they only grew stronger. Blaze took this as Burn slacking off and being lazy with training, only pushing him further to learn control. The constant learning did help him greatly, but often left him with very little energy by the end of the day. He would continue to push himself though, but he did have suspicions of him being a dragon knight.

It wasn't until Burn was 14 that Eliane was able to get into contact with Roman and convince him to meet up with Burn. With the excuse that she needed him to help out with some work around her house, Eliane invited Roman to her place so he could meet for the first time in years.

It all goes very well to say the least, as Roman was happy to finally see his son after so long and Burn began to gravitate towards him much more. Although still a bit distant, he felt safe with his father compared to his mother. They weren't able to keep in contact as much as they'd like in order to keep it a secret from Blaze.

When Burn was 16, his mother had blamed him from stealing from her and decided that she would kick him out of the house. Burn took this opportunity to properly run away and live with Roman. Although it was sudden, Roman was happy to finally begin a proper relationship with his son even if it had to happen much later in life.

A few months after moving in with his father, Burn's magical abilities were still not under full control. They made the decision to bring him to the Fire Kingdom to see if he would be a dragon knight, which their tests were a success and he was taken to live in the castle along with the other fire dragon knight, Bridgette North. He was allowed to meet with his father every so often, but meeting up was usually short and brief due to the amount of proper training he had to do.

Bridgette began teaching him to control his abilities properly. It was rough at the start, as Burn didn’t really trust Bridgette and his mental health wasn’t the greatest. Bridgette was patient with Burn, able to sympathize with his frustrations over training. Overtime, the two of them grew as friends and allies that they are in present time.

Once Burn’s status as knight was officially announced to the public, he anticipated that Blaze would attempt to seek him out and rekindle a relationship. So with a brief recap of his past experiences to the King and Queen, she was officially banned to contact any dragon knight and would be thrown in jail if she disturbed any of them during their duties. Basically a not subtle way of keeping her away from Burn and free from her control.

Before the story begins, Persona has infected all the most powerful entities with chaos to corrupt their minds. Burn is included as he fights against the other territories with Bridgette.

Five years into the war, Bridgette dies on the battlefield due to the dragon knight curse. This leaves Burn as the sole fire dragon knight until the new one is discovered. It is his mission to find and capture the newest knight before the others attempt to kill them.

Dragon Knight Curse- As the knights are chosen from the deities and infused with more of their own divine magic, the mortal body cannot handle it for long before there are mental and physical repercussion. To combat this, the Deities shortened the lifespan of the knights to half. Rarely they live past 30 years old, some even dying at the age their powers awakened.

-Hazy memory of his time with his mother, he only can recall a few memories before it begins to melt together

Although being difficult, Burn tries to make use of his friendship support system and be honest when he can. Burn's considered going to therapy, but a the same time he feels like it would get in the way of his job. He is aware of his conditions but a lot of his self hatred and shame lingers, which prevents him from fully allowing himself to heal since he feels he doesn't deserve it.

When all the dragon knights are corrupted, he looses connections with his fellow knights as well as the death of Bridgette, Burn's conditions worsen as he has no way to work through his emotions leading it to get worse.

Mixed with the high stress of trying to find Ember before everyone else kills her, creates some very poor mental health situations.

Blaze Bailey (Mother): They have an awful and unhealthy relationship. Blaze was a very controlling woman that was obsessed putting Burn down and shaming him for having human blood in him, which lead to Burn being very submissive towards her words and actions. There were moments in time when she would gaslight, verbally abuse, and very rarely, physically abuse Burn whenever he challenged her. She was strict and wanted Burn to focus on training and school rather than social events or being around many people. Blaze is the root of all of Burn's troubles and he hates her for it, always ignoring any and all attempts to contact him. He doesn't trust her and never ever will give her a second chance no matter how much she said she's changed.

Roman Reed(Father): Burn was told lies from Blaze about how Roman was, which originally created some negative feelings for him on Burn's side. Of course, he turned out to be a kind of man who cared and worried a lot for Burn. It did tak a little bit of time for them to fully grow close, but now they regualrly meet up and keep tabs on each other.

Peggy: Apart from Bridgette, Peggy was the other dragon knight who Burn became close with from the start. She was immediately kind to him and offered a safe space for him to not feel the tension of being a knight. Peggy helps when Burn is having anxiety or panic attacks and grounds him when needed. He puts a lot in trust in her but wishes she was given a different life for someone so kind shouldn't have to be a dragon knight. She doesn't hold back in sparring though, which considering how much stronger he is then her makes for a very difficult challenge for him to win.

Xavier: Him and Xavier are very similar in personality, both are introverted and share comfortable silence with each other. Burn does look up to Xavier as a model dragon knight and somewhat a teacher but still understands that the hardships and training he had to endure under his teacher is nothing to admire. He's the more energetic of the two, and most people don't even see how low energy Xavier is until Burn is chatting away. The two just get each other without speaking, eye movements and simple gestures speak volumes to each other. A very trusting relationship as a whole.

Sam: Overall Burn feels very bad for Sam. Although there are some people that felt like the position of dragon knight was fitting for them, Sam was never one of those people. He thinks that its a miracle that she's managed to hold onto some of the child-like wonder that she never got to fully experience, mostly thankful that Xavier was such a good teacher to her. Burn enjoys her presence and find she unknowingly lifts his spirits and hopes the best for her role as a dragon knight.

Thorn: Burn enjoys Thorn's mellow attitude as well as her nature to not ask too many question about his personal life. He thinks that she needs to take her job just a bit more seriously and not treat it lightly but still respects her accomplishments and skills. Because of how light and fast she is, Burn loves to spar with Thorn and finds she gives him good feedback on where to improve as well as forcing him to get more creative with his strategies.

Tornado: Similarly to Thorn, Burn likes Tornado's calm presence and ability to keep the peace. As dragon knights they are always taught how to fight physically but to see someone who can end conflicts with words is seen as very refreshing for Burn.

Bridgette: Burn would consider Bridgette to be his closest friend, they both a have a deep understanding with each other as friends and have a lot of trust when working together. Burn feels like he can tell her anything and she would keep that secret close to her. When she died due to the curse, he felt like he lost a sister and a shoulder to lean on. Burn struggles a lot while she is gone, as she was not only a mentor to him but his closest friend.

Toby: There is a lot of paranoia and disappointment surrounding Burn feelings towards Toby. He's afraid of where he's from and the ideals that come with it, he feels bad for Ray who was a witness to Ilona's murder and was in no proper mindset to be training Sunny. He's paranoid that Toby will escape from prison and worried that he'll cause too much trouble for the kingdoms to handle.

Venom: To put it simply, Burn hates everything about Venom. She's mean, loud, and to him she's nothing but a bully. He acknowledges her skills how she is a formidable foe but as a whole he tries to ignore her altogether. They do not get along and he doesn't try to be her friend.

He strngly dislikes the Elements. There we days on end where he gave offerings and prays to them with no hope or response to save him from his mother. Making him a dragon knight was the cherry on top for him abandoning his hope in them.

Demons are usually not on his mind, although he understands that they bring the balance of order and chaos, they are still a pain in the ass to deal with.

Holds a great respect for the royalty and is happy to be their protector. Although he wishes that they would give him a bit more of a break so he can recharge but apart from that he doesn't mind them.

He holds a respect for any dragon knight who would respect him. Burn enjoys spending some time with the other knights, although all together they can get a bit too energenic for him.

Burn does desire a relationship to an extent but mixed with his mental state and being a dragon knight it’s never his first priority these days.

Shield: A sturdy shield he keeps on his back at all times, although he doesn’t need it he prefers to go into battle and training with it by his side. He can use it as a blunt weapon.

Fire guardians can control and create fire at will, they are also immune to to high temperature but can still get burnt under the right conditions

Because he is a Dragon Knight, his human half is "cancelled out" so his magical abilities are just as strong as any other guardian.

His body is still weaker, so he could be seen as being a bit more fragile in that sense.

Very controlled and formal, he isn't much for fancy movements or flamboyant tricks. Burn would rather get it done fast and effectively rather then be flashy

"Why me?" -Burn at 5pm sharp every day

-Burn can punch really hard compared to the other knights. He isn’t even the physically strongest out of them all but for some reason it hurts much more when he throws a punch. This means when he uses a shield as a weapon it’s much more dangerous than you’d originally anticipate.

-He can sing really well, he just doesn't find reason to sing often so he doesn't even know he'd actually good

-Blaze figured out Roman was human from a friend of a friend, she confronted him and was disgusted by his 'lying behaviour' when originally he didn't think it mattered that much.

-Burn still has a human name despite his mother hating humans, he never knew he had a human name until meeting his father who told him thats what he would have called him. It just kinda stuck and became a small nickname by Peggy.
