Kaysi: Gaelic Origin, means alert or watchful

Thorn was one of those characters who I didn't think to much about the actual name meaning but just the overall flow of her name and how it sounds. So unfortunately no analysis Thorn today.

Sad/Upset- Cries but more silently, doesn't speak much, tries to act like she isn't crying but will break down if given physical comfort

Lying-She doesn't really lie, but is surprisingly good at it when being serious, usually body language is less relaxed but only friends can see that

Flustered/Embarrassed- Actually never gets caught off guard much, usually stops for a second and then laughs it off. She doesn't take life too seriously.

Bored-Falls asleep pretty easily so might start to nod off.

Thorn is very mellow and easy-going, not really one for conflict or gossip she usually keeps to herself. She always seems tired and half asleep, often chiming in with snarky remarks here and there. Despite the calm nature, Thorn likes to stand out in a crowd and usually does this though her hair and clothes, in an odd way she likes to be the centre of attention. She easily understands boundaries for others, never trying to push people out of their comfort zones or pressuring them to be someone they aren't. Thorn doesn't ask many questions about what people have been through, especially if they say that they don't wanna talk about it she'll just leave it at that.

Geocil, Earth Guardian Territory

Born to Herb and Conifer Irvine, Thorn grew up in the quiet town of Geocil, not having much excitement in her life and having a generally loving family. From a young age Thorn helped out with her parents's clothing business, being fascinated by the colourful embroidery and elegant outfits clients would commission. Typically she was invested in the elegant gowns the occasional noble would want for an event and always asked questions about what the gala was and why the client wanted that dress.

Little conversations like this weren't affecting any business or annoying clients so her parents let Thorn ask as long as it was okay with the person

When Thorn was about 10 years old is when she started feeling discomfort as a boy, although she wasn't fully aware of what these emotions were but mixed emotions of attraction and jealously towards the girls in her class. She wanted to be around them all the time in groups or games as well. She thought nothing of it until she was 13 years old going through puberty.

Being transgender is a concept in the Guardian world and is openly talked about and supported. So when Thorn was finally able to discover that she was transgender (after many late nights of questioning and research), she came out to her parents. At this point in her life her dysphoria had gotten due to changes like her voice and facial hair, so Herb and Conifer did their best to try and help Thorn feel as comfortable as possible and start looking into taking hormones. During this waiting period Thorn was able to start changing her looks, hair and clothes to be more like herself, dying her hair for the first time.

Unfortunately, they had waited a bit too long to get started with hormones because soon when Thorn turned 14, her magical abilities grew much stronger and less controlled pointing to her being a dragon knight. After bringing her to the kingdom and confirming with the royals that she is the next dragon knight, her transition had to be put off due to training.

This is where she met Pine Hayden Collin as he was the other dragon knight there who was 15 at the time. He was not old enough to train her so they spent plenty of time training together and growing stronger. Pine was a little awkward around people and sometimes had trouble with his confidence but Thorn, with her mellow demeanor, was able to ground Pine and bring him back into reality when he was doubting himself.

They grew quite close together overtime and Pine even started to push the kingdom to allow Thorn to follow through with hormones. This eventually paid off after a while and at age 16 she finally started to fully transition.

Thorn, along with the other dragon knights, are corrupted by Persona's magic and are 5 years into war. She and Pine are current hunting down Ember Jane Calida to prevent the Fire kingdom from having power.

Dragon Knight Curse- As the knights are chosen from the deities and infused with more of their own divine magic, the mortal body cannot handle it for long before there are mental and physical repercussion. To combat this, the Deities shortened the lifespan of the knights to half. Rarely they live past 30 years old, some even dying at the age their powers awakened.

Gender dysphoria- She hasn't fully transitioned yet and gets dysphoria over her chest, private areas, voice, hands and body hair.

Hormones- She's recently started to take them! They are in pill form.

Dysphoria usually leads to a lot of anxiety and consciousness of Thorn's body, making to hard focus and function on these days as well as increasing stress levels.

Thorn does need to take extra vitamin D supplements and have more calcium due to side effects of the hormones, apart from that she is experiencing lower libido and some decrease in muscle mass.

Thorn typically copes on bad days wearing her full armour. It seems silly but not being able to be looking at her body in tighter clothing or having a body shapes helps take her mind off it.

In this world, trans folk are way more accepted and receive little to no discrimination or bullying. This means that Thorn wouldn't be very worried about other people around her or lacking health care. This is why her dysphoria isn't leading to severe depression or suicidal thoughts due to her body.

She plans to get top surgery in near future, but due to the demanding nature of being a knight she is fearful of the longer recovery period.

Isn't religious and doesn't like the deities much.

Herb and Conifer Irvine (Mother/Father): Thorn is pretty close with her parents. She is so happy that they always supported her no matter what and telling her to keep her head held high. She doesn't get to see them in person often but send the occasional update letter with some gifts whenever things are calm. Thorn likes to read what kind of stuff as been going on back home and treasures the letters her parents send her. Overall a pretty good relationship between them all.

Pine: Since her and Pine spend so much time together due to both being dragon knights, they have a very close an understanding bond. Both understand the hardships of being a knight and both being victim to the curse. Thorn loves to hang around Pine and finds his optimistic outlook on life is refreshing compared to other very serious knights. She thinks he is a kind soul that was certainly was given an unfair outcome since he wanted to help out with dragon sanctuaries, not be a knight. Thorn offers good company when he has time to help at the royal sanctuary and chats with him for hours on end.

Xavier: Although he seems like a nice guys, Thorn thinks thats Xavier really needs to loosen up and stop being so uptight. Apart from this they get along decently well despite not having too much in common, Thorn enjoys talking with Xavier when given the chance and they both generally have the same chill attitude. Thorn wants is lowkey trying to convince him to dye his hair, but he won't budge.

Burn: Similar to Xavier, Thorn thinks that Burn needs to loosen up and stop being so uptight. Has a lot of respect for him and how quickly he's learned to control his powers, she loves to challenge him in sparring since he's so good at problem solving. Somewhat see him as a younger brother figure to mess with and support at the exact same time.

Tornado: They don't have too much in common, but they are both diplomats at heart so when they meet up its nice to just relax. Thorn is probably the only person who doesn't argue with Tornado over him being more religious, even if she doesn't agree with him.

Sam: LOVES her vibes, being around her is a nice energy to just relax and calm down. Thorn thinks Sam is one of the only people who can truly take a break from her duties and just be herself. Its helped Thorn try to sit back and enjoy the peaceful moments in life more so.

Peggy: Thorn loves Peggy a lot. To Thorn, she's arguably one of the best knights in terms of skill and compassion. Thorn has a high respect for Peggy and what she's gone through.

Does not like the Elements...she used to think it was a blessing to be chosen by the deities to protect the kingdom but now she's in that position its exhausting. She thinks its cruel to take a child who barely knows who they are and make them carry the weight of the world on their shoulders.

Thorn doesn't paticularly like serving the royalty, thinking that they are pretentious and need to loosen up. Although they do have a kingdom to run so its probably for the best they aren't all fun and games...she does like to keep up with the lastest drama going on.

She gets along with pretty much all the other dragon knights, holding respect for their skills and talents. Pretty much all of them like her too! She's a very grounding presence to have around when days get rough.

Although Thorn desires a romantic relationship, like many dragon knights doesn't find it practice and also unfair to her partner. Since dragon knights could technically drop dead from the curse at any moment, Thorn doesn't want to hurt her partner by falling in love then leaving them.

-Thorn has dyed her hair about 6 times with the following colours being: red, blue, orange, purple, teal, then purple again. The first time she dyed her hair was when she was about 11 years old and she did it because she wanted to match her mom, who had decided to try out red hair.

-Although she's kept her guardian name, she did legally change her name to Kaysi when given the chance

-She likes taking naps in her snake form, its very nice for cuddle piles
