Vex leans closer to Gus than he would be comfortable with. This close, Gus would be able to see the porelessness of their skin.
"Oh yes…" they murmur. "Now, fight."

"Oh yes…" they murmur. "Now, fight."
Gus shrunk with fear, timidly trying to knock Vex off their feet.
Vex sighs, and blocks the attack easily.
"Weak. Try harder."
(Oh sorry they were trying to use the telekinesis to knock them off their feet lol)
(Ah, okay!)
Gus panted with exhaustion, falling to the floor. "I-I-I can't…"
Vex growls.
"Oh, yes you can, even if I have to take over that body of yours and see for myself." they growl.
Gus cried out in pain, trying to stand in fear of getting more hurt. He stood shakily, trying his best to push Vex with his powers again, only prevailing a small amount
Vex snorts.
"Weak. We need to work on that. In the meantime, rest. Eat. Take a bath. I'm an asshole, I'm not a scumbag."
Gus shakily and weakly leaned against the wall, tears flowing down his face as he imagines what was to come. He simply just nodded, wiping his eyes
Vex snaps, and Gus disappears to a safehouse nearby. The room he would be in is heavily guarded, with bulletproof glass 5 inches thick and solid titanium, steel and concrete walls. With that done, they "sleep".
Gus looked around, still in utter shock at how he had got there. And what was to come. He curled up on the small bed provided, pulling the scratchy covers around him as he cried himself to a troubled sleep
(Man, I sure do love breaking cinnamon roll characters!)
The next morning, Vex summons Gus once more.
"Time for another test." they say, looking well put together compared to Gus.
(Yeah, same!)
Gus groggily stumbled to the ground, the force of traveling being to much for them. He stood slowly, shakily, still incredibly sore from the day before.
Vex snaps their fingers, revitalizing the weary and stumbling Gus from collapsing.
"We can't have you collapsing quite just yet, now can we?" they say, smiling slightly.
"I would like to… apologize… for my behaviour yesterday. You see, I so rarely have the pleasure of meeting new people. If you want, you can go." they say, opening their mind and showing Gus that they have no ulterior motives in doing this.
Gus perked up, smiling greatly. “Oh yes thank you!! Thank you!!” He started toward the door, hurriedly trying to open it. He was going to stay in this hell hole with a psychopathic freak no longer
Vex sighs, knowing that this would have been Gus's choice anyways.
"Just… nevermind. I am sorry…" they whisper, knowing Gus can't hear them.
Gus dashed out the door, before realizing he has no idea where he was. Begrudgingly, he walked back inside, slipping past the door and back into the dark room.
“Could you… maybe drive me home?”
"I can do you one better. I can simply…" they say, clicking their fingers. Gus disappears and reappears in his own home.
Gus stumbled backwards, sighing with relief at the sight of his own room. "By god…" He mumbled softly, laying on his bed to recuperate from the past events. What did that person want from him anyways?? Why was he deliberately being sought after? And was he still a target. He locked the door to him room just in case.
Over the next few days, Vex wonders at his decision to release Gus. After all, he was a powerful super. Eventually, Vex decides to show up at Gus's market stall. They wait for Gus to show up.
Gus watched as Vex approached his stall again, and he cowered in fear.
"P-p-please, I can get you a discount!" Gus stuttered out, wanting anything but the hell he had been though again
Vex holds up their hands.
"I- I am not here to hurt you. I am not here to get anything from you. I…" they sigh, their voice trailing off.
"I wanted to apologize for what I did, what I tried to do. I realized that what I did was- rude. Malicious. I would like to make it up to you, but-" their sentence cuts off. Their eyes are strangely vulnerable.
Gus tilted his head, his helpful nature showing through as he stepped out from behind the car with sadness in his eyes. I was so mean! He thought absentmindedly, completely forgetting what Vex had done to him.
"It's okay! Please dont be sad, here!" He held out a cupcake, smiling eagerly. "You don't have to make it up to me, it was just an accident!"
Vex stumbles backwards slightly. "No- it was no accident…" they murmur, disappearing once more, leaving only the vague scent of blak pepper, mint and- strangely enough- cinnamon.
Gus coughed, stumbling backward as Vex disappeared once more. He sighed as he stared at the cupcake, wondering what that could have possibly been about.
"Vex!" He called, hopelessly, before shrugging and finishing setting up his cart.
Vex's heart, which they had not realized still beat, was pulsing unevenly against their ribs. They drew in a ragged, deep breath, but couldn't figure it out- What was wrong with them? Why did they apologize? And above all, why did they let Gus go?
They pondered these questions as they tried to focus on training their troops, but kept feeling something urging him back to the lightbearer.
Gus felt concerned for the magic wielder. And even though they had kidnapped him, his tender emotions convicned himself it was because he was troubled. Every day after his shift, he would search the market, the streets, glancing around every corner for the mysterious stranger who seemed very alone.
Vex, eventually incapable of staying away from the person that twisted them into knots, went to Gus's front door. It was night and raining heavily, and their clothes and hair were soaked, turning the black fabric darker and making their hair lighter, nearly true white, instead of darkening it. They hesitate. What am I going to say if he answers? they wonder, then they shake their head. I will figure that out, I suppose…
They reach out, tentatively, and knock on the front door, lightly.
Gus heard between the clammer of raindrops and the sounds of the city, a small knock. It wasn't famiiar to the kocking of his friends or family, but he answered anyway, carrying a tube of icing he was just using.
"Hello- Hi!" He said warmly to Vex. "Come in! How are you? Doing okay?
