Melissa glanced up at him, and smiled. "How so?" She asked gently, running her thumb across the side of his hand.
Melissa glanced up at him, and smiled. "How so?" She asked gently, running her thumb across the side of his hand.
"Because you've done so much for me, Mel. I'm living in your house right now. You give me food and stuff and you agreed to be my girlfriend. What more could I want?"
“I-“ Melissa fell quiet, thinking over his words in silence. She wanted to argue otherwise, but it was pointless without an actual argument. “I guess you’re right. Though I really am lucky to have you.”
"I'm glad you think so, Mel. I love you~" He purred, kissing Melissa softly. "I'm glad you were willing to keep me around."
"Mm, I love you too." Melissa hummed, kissing him back with a light smile. "And I quite enjoy having you around."
Lucas rested his head against Melissa's shoulder, humming contentedly. "This clearing is made even more beautiful by your presence, love."
Her face grew warm, and she huffed a little. "Mm- Lucas…" Melissa whined a little, pouting down at him.
Lucas grinned, a bit flushed himself. "Beautiful~" He gently poked Melissa's nose with one finger.
"Stoppp…." Melissa whined, dropping her face in her hands. "Why do you do this to me?"
"Because I loooooove you~" Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek, still grinning. "Soooooooo much."
"Mmm….. but why?" Melissa asked again, face still hidden in her hands. "I don't deserve this much love from you."
"Because I happen to think you're wonderful, darling." Lucas pulled Melissa close and kissed her again.
Pulling her face from her hands, she gave him a slight pout. "I can't argue with that…" Melissa mumbled, resting her head on his shoulder.
"Nope." Lucas rested his head against Melissa's, smiling softly. "Gotta make sure you know how much I love you."
"I do know. You're doing a good job." Melissa whispered, letting a little smile pull up. "And I love you a lot, too."
Lucas smiled a bit more brightly and kissed Melissa again. "I'm glad to hear it, milady."
"Mm… I wish I could do more to show you." Melissa mumbled a little, giving him a soft kiss back.
"You're doing more than enough, darling. Don't worry so much." Lucas hummed softly.
Sighing a little, Melissa glanced over to him. "You know, that only makes people worry more. Myself included."
"I know, I know, but seriously. It's alright. I promise."
"You're sure?" Melissa asked again, resting her chin on his shoulder.
"I'm sure." Lucas gently kissed Melissa and looked back out at the clearing, holding her close with one arm.
Curling up close, she let herself relax into his arms. "Well, tell me if there ever is something I can do." Melissa whispered, glancing out to where he was looking.
"Alright, Mel." Lucas leaned his head against Melissa's, humming some tune quietly to himself.
Sitting there in silence, Melissa sunk into her thoughts. Nothing of much importance, mostly day-dreams. She honestly didn't have much to say, as she was happy to sit there.
Lucas eventually closed his eyes and relaxed against Melissa, hovering between sleep and consciousness.
Melissa glanced up at him, smiling lightly. "You sleepy?" She asked in a soft tone, to keep from startling him.
"A little, yeah…" Lucas yawned and huddled closer to Melissa. "You're comfy…"
"Mm, I am?" Melissa asked in a light tone, kissing the top of his head. "Well, I guess I'll be sitting here for you."
Lucas smiled softly, relaxing further. "I probably shouldn't sleep if we need to go home soon, though…"
