Melissa sighed weakly, burying her face in his shoulder. "I'm sorry I'm being so paranoid… I-I just hate seeing you hurt…"
Melissa sighed weakly, burying her face in his shoulder. "I'm sorry I'm being so paranoid… I-I just hate seeing you hurt…"
"I know, Mel… I'm the one who should be sorry…" Lucas held Melissa close to himself and closed his eyes.
Melissa sighed softly, resting her chin on his shoulder. She kept quiet for a couple of minutes, Cody coming up and curling up in between the two of them. "I love you…"
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas sighed as well, gently kissing Melissa's forehead. "I don't like it here…" He murmured.
Melissa didn't respond immediately, distracted by petting Cody. "I… I mean… if you'd feel better at home, maybe we could ask..?"
Lucas nodded a bit. "I… I don't know if you or I are allowed to. We might have to have your dad do it…"
"I can always call him…" Melissa mumbled, flicking her gaze up to him. "Or text him. It might take some convincing, though."
"Yeah… um… we can try that if you want…" Lucas sighed and huddled closer to Melissa, holding tight to her.
"Mm… maybe in a couple minutes I'll do that…" Mumbling still, she nuzzled up against him. "Right now, a break from everything sounds wonderful…"
"Sounds good to me, love…" Lucas kissed Melissa softly and buried his face in her shoulder. "I love you…"
"I love you too~" Melissa smiled softly, melting into the bed. She was exhausted, not having slept much last night. "Mm… a nap also sounds good."
"We can take a nap then, Mel…" Lucas smiled weakly and relaxed a bit more, wrapping his arms around Melissa.
"Mm… do you want to?" Melissa asked softly, burying her face in his shoulder. "I can stay up, if you don't want to…"
"No, no… I'm exhausted too. I'm happy to take a nap with you, Mel." Lucas hummed softly to himself.
Melissa nodded a bit, staying curled up close. "Mmmm'kay…" She mumbled, loosely linking their legs together.
Lucas yawned and soon drifted off to sleep in Melissa's arms, finally relaxing fully on the cot.
(I'm assuming we're skipping…)
Melissa had nodded off not long after him, staying close to him. They had slept for almost two hours, before Melissa had woken up. She had pushed herself into a sitting position, yawning. She glanced up at Cody, letting a smile pull up. "Hey, bud…"
(Yep lol)
"Mmmmmm… Mel…?" Lucas yawned a bit as he looked up at Melissa sleepily. "How long have I been asleep…?"
Melissa turned her gaze down on Lucas, smiling softly. "Not sure… I just woke up." She hummed, turning back to Cody. Currently he was climbing back up closer to them.
"Mmkay…" Lucas pet Cody gently and yawned again, huddling up in his blanket a bit more. "Can I go home now?"
Melissa dropped back against the bed, looking over at him. "I haven't asked yet…" She told him softly, sighing weakly.
"Oh… okay. Should we go ahead and do that?" Lucas asked softly. "I don't wanna bother him, though…"
"I… I can…" Melissa mumbled, taking a moment before pushing herself off the bed. "My phone should be in my bag…"
"Okay…" Lucas curled up on the cot when Melissa got up. "Let me know when he replies, okay?"
Melissa nodded a little, pulling her phone from her bag. "I'm honestly just gonna call him. It'll be easier to explain."
"Okay, um… I can talk to him as well, if you want? If you think it would help…" Lucas sighed softly and sat up a bit.
"No, I got it. You stay here with Cody, I'll be right back." Melissa insisted, starting to head towards the door.
"If you're sure, love…" Lucas pulled Cody closer to himself and sighed, curling up again while he waited for Melissa to return.
It was about fifteen minutes later when Melissa came back in, shutting the door behind her. "He's coming," She stated simply, letting out a light huff.
"Mmkay… sounds good to me." Lucas looked up at Melissa from the cot. "Um… you okay, love?" He asked softly.
