"Mm, no. But my dad is bringing him here, to us." Melissa smiled in return, sighing softly. "I said I would stay here, after-all."
"Mm, no. But my dad is bringing him here, to us." Melissa smiled in return, sighing softly. "I said I would stay here, after-all."
"Mmkay…" Lucas reached up to Melissa and weakly attempted to pull her down to the bed. "Cuddles…"
"I don't want to hurt you, Lu…" Melissa whispered, not letting him pull her down. She gave him a soft look, feeling bad.
Lucas whined softly as he tugged on Melissa's sleeve. "But Mel… want cuddles…" He whined.
"But I really don't want to hurt you, Lu…" Melissa insisted, trying so hard not to just give in. "Come on, there's not much room, anyways."
"You won't hurt me… cuddles…" Lucas mumbled, holding his arms up to Melissa. "Please?" He pouted a bit to try and sway Melissa.
Melissa letting out a soft groan, clearly giving in to his pouting. "I'm so incredibly weak." She mumbled, before laying back on the cot with him. "You win, you get cuddles."
"Yaaaaay…" Lucas smiled softly and hugged Melissa, huddling close to her on the cot. It was pretty small, so they had to keep close to both stay on anyway.
Melissa smiled softly, kissing his cheek softly. "If I'm hurting you, you gotta tell me." She mumbled, nosing into his shoulder a little bit.
"I will…" Lucas rested his head against Melissa's and soon drifted off to sleep in her arms, finally relaxing.
Melissa smiled gently, letting him sleep. She knew he would be exhausted after everything. Even when her father brought Cody, she didn't bother waking him up.
(Do we wanna skip?)
(Sure lol)
Lucas awoke late in the morning after Melissa had already left. He noticed Cody on the cot and pulled him close, holding him up against his chest.
Melissa had left a note on the table next to him, before leaving. Mostly to tell him she would come back and see him later. Cody seemed happy to see Lucas, sniffing at his bandages curiously.
(And now skip to after school lol)
Lucas was laying on the cot, eerily silent by the time Melissa returned. He didn't seem to notice her coming in, but he also didn't seem to have done any additional damage to himself.
(Lol)
Melissa had taken a little extra time, having stopped to get flowers, and a special treat. Carefully she knocked, before pulling the hospital door open. "Hey, Lu… how are you doing?" She asked softly, adjusting the sunflower bouquet as she stepped though the door.
"Looooonely…" Lucas whined, still staring at the ceiling. He looked over at Melissa and smiled softly when he noticed the flowers. "Thaaaaaanks, Mel…"
Melissa laughed softly, bringing the flowers over to him. "Mm, of course, Lu." She smiled softly, leaning forward to kiss his forehead. "Where's my puppy at?"
"Puppyyyyy…" Cody crawled over Lucas to get to Melissa, whining happily as he jumped up on her. "He's exciiiiited…"
Melissa giggled softly, scooping Cody up and holding him close to her chest. "Did you have more drugs, while I was at school?" She asked softly, nosing into Cody's fur.
"Mhmm~…" Lucas huddled into his blankets and yawned a bit. "My arms started hurting again so they gave me more drugs."
"I can tell." Melissa hummed, kissing Cody softly before dropping him back on the bed. "What have you been doing?"
"Not much. Being lonely." Lucas stuck his tongue out a bit. "Listened to some music like you told me to."
"I'm sorry I couldn't be around, but I had school." Melissa told him softly, kissing his forehead. "But I brought you a treat, to make up for it."
"Mmmmm…" Lucas closed his eyes when Melissa kissed him and lay his head back down. "When can I go back home?"
"Mm, I dunno." Melissa smiled softly, crawling to the foot of his bed. "Hopefully later this evening. But I can't promise you anything."
"Do you think they're gonna make me go to a mental hospital?" He asked weakly. "I don't have a legal guardian right now… I think they might just be able to take me there without me wanting to…"
Melissa gave him a soft look, trying not to think about the worst. "I… I don't know. But what about me dad? He came with you, so they'll probably assume he's your dad for now, right?"
"I dunno what he put on the paperwork, b-but I… I dunno… I'm still a minor and since I don't have a guardian, I don't know what all they can do…"
"Hey, take a deep breath for a minute." Melissa told him softly, rubbing his lower leg. "They can't do anything without telling us first. You've got time."
Lucas whined softly and closed his eyes, his breathing becoming a bit labored. "I-I don't wanna go, Mel… I don't want them to take me there…"
