Soul Alteration

Soul Control magic that involving changing the soul's contents -- whether adding or removing pieces, or changing the relative balance of the various energies. These spells are dangerous to both caster and target. Learning what changes can be made to a living soul without damaging it beyond repair requires intense study, and the method of passing energy back and forth presents risks of its own.

Process

The caster forms a bridge of Neutral Energy connecting the Energy Channels of the subject's body with the source of whatever core is to be added, or a container for anything that should be removed. From there, the neutral energy can be manipulated to push the cores to where they need to go.

Physical contact is not necessarily required, but the closer the subject and source are to each other, the less neutral energy will be needed to complete the bridge. While any mage is capable of using Energy Manipulation with this element, the energy has to come from somewhere, and the most common method is to source it from the caster's own body. This risks irreversible damage to the energy channels, so the utmost care must be taken. If the neutral energy bridge is too thin, the heat of the cores' pure energy may also cause internal burns.
