Energy Channels

A system of pathways made of Neutral Energy that extend from the Soul into every part of a living being's body. They are used in the casting of Spells, granting a way for Magical Energy to travel out from the soul and manifest outside the body.

While in the soul, energy is pure and usually scorching to the touch. If this pure energy were to travel through the body unhindered, it would cause severe damage, so the energy channels gradually weaken it to a safe level. This is especially important in spells of Energy Creation, which often releases large amounts of energy at once.

The channels end at specific places, sometimes called "exit points," where energy may leave the caster's body. On a human, exit points are located at the palms, fingertips, feet, forehead, eyes, and mouth. Other species have different exit point layouts in accordance with their anatomy.
