Olivia Azio's Cabin (The Blood Legion)

Location Type

A cabin with an RV compound hidden in the backyard, miles into the Alaskan tundra & backwoods, that's the home base of the Blood Legion.

Description - Describe Olivia Azio's Cabin (The Blood Legion).

The "old Wansley Homestead", as it is sometimes referred to, is the last residential home at the tail end of the road that leads to the North Denali-McKinley Trail Outpost Station. Formerly owned by the Wansleys - hence the name - the cabin was recently purchased and repurposed by Olivia Azio.

What most people don't know is that Olivia Azio is really Aerallis Tithiros, and the cabin - remote and otherwise entirely forgotten by everyone except the forest rangers who man the outpost station - is the home base of the Blood Legion.

Located at - Where is Olivia Azio's Cabin (The Blood Legion) located?

The homestead is located deep in the Alaskan wilderness - miles from the nearest neighbor and where communicating between places is usually done via two-way radio because of the sheer remoteness.

It is the very last residential home near the tail end of the road that leads to the North Denali-McKinley Trail Outpost Station, a fire watch and general outpost for the forest rangers who work in Snow Haven.

The station is unmanned most of the year thanks to budget cuts, so there is an arrangement with the cabin owner to watch the station when not in use, in exchange for supplies and help maintaining what little road there is out there.

Area Overview

Aerallis's cabin is a 4 bed, 3 bath house with 2,917 square feet of space. There is a garage and barn to the right side of the cabin.

The cabin has a spectacular post-and-beam log house attached to it. The post-and-beam structure was added onto the back of the original 1979 log cabin in the early 1990s. It turned this house into a true twofer: a cozy, comfortable, intimate, rustic log cabin combined with a stylish, spacious suburban country manor designed for entertaining friends and family - which can be done in the soaring, two-story-high great room, which boasts two wood stoves and gets loads of light through its many large windows. French doors open from the great room onto an expansive deck.

A mudroom connects the great room to the original cabin’s eat-in kitchen, which has plenty of room to prepare elaborate feasts.

The stone wall on the interior side of the kitchen is actually the back of the family room’s stone fireplace, which is outfitted with a wood stove. Here people can spend those more intimate moments in a warm, embracing environment.

The upstairs bedrooms in the log cabin have whole-log walls and beamed ceilings, while those in the post-and-beam addition boast skylights. The master suite is on the first floor of the post-and-beam wing. This house also has a full finished basement with space for a home theater and recreation - something Aera wants to make happen and is working on.

There's plenty of room to house numerous people, and without any neighbors, it's a great hideaway for ghouls.

group Population
Population Overview

Members of the Blood Legion are from all walks of life and every background imaginable. They may not even be fully sold on the idea of revenge as a whole, but some part of taking justice into their own hands from the shadows should appeal to them.

Aerallis has been turning people into ghouls since January of 2019 and kidnapping others to use as bonded. It's possible that a small number of bonded have been changed into ghouls, either on purpose or on accident. For existing ghouls, she has offered shelter from the elements, knowledge, food and company. Some she's had to blackmail and/or manipulating them into Her cause.

Leadership

Blood Queen

There's only one Blood Queen, and it's Aerallis. She alone is the leader of the Blood Legion, and holds absolute power over them. Think of her like the boss in a mafia.

She is known as 'Olivia Azio' to the general Legion - only those in leadership or those who recognized her know her as Aerallis.

The Raiders

Raiders are the left and right hands of the Queen, and hold the same responsibilities as the Underboss and the Consigliere in Trinity.

The Bloods

The Bloods are the captains of the army and answer directly to Aera.

Population Details

The Legion: Ghouls that have been turned by Aerallis, or were recruited by her or others, to serve as her army. They can be from all walks of life, and originally could have been anything except for a phoenix or vampire. Vampires and other species can also be roped into this. They are the foot soldiers of the group.

Bonded: Ghouls within the Blood Legion should eventually have a Bonded. A Bonded is an individual that is not another ghoul from which the ghoul can feed from and use for parts as needed. Usually, these individuals are magically bonded to a ghoul through one of the Blood Legion's mages or through the use of an item made for the Blood Legion members.

The act of bonding is simple and does not require the consent of the bonded. And once attached, the Bonded will die without the Ghoul. This bond creates a telepathic link between the ghoul and their companion, and slowly changes the bonded individual to have accelerated healing, sharper senses, and a stronger body in order to withstand being fed on. Each BL member is limited to no more than two bonded.

Motto - What is Olivia Azio's Cabin (The Blood Legion)’s motto?

Blood for Freedom!

Operations

The Blood Legion is a group whose members primarily consist of ghouls, other flesh eaters and vampires with an overarching goal for revenge and personal justice. Most members are angry as a result of being turned, forced to consume flesh and/or blood. The reason for their spite is as varied and as colorful as they are. Ghouls may join for protection, to be around their own kind and to learn more about their species as well and having a means for regular food.

But be warned: The road to vengeance is dark and full of terrors.

Involvement

There are two stories in the Blood Legion. There's the one the Blood Queen tells you, the one that paints the legion as violent vigilantes, and there's the truth - a truth that would have the streets paved in crimson.

Those that aren't angry and looking for revenge are given the first story - that they're now capable of cleaning up their town in a way that the SHPD can't. These members are vigilantes, slowly being manipulated into acting out of anger.

Those already seeking retribution of their own are given the truth - they're out to royally fuck shit up for the Reine, the Cult of Bane and to a lesser extent, the Trinity Mafia. The Blood Legion primarily recruits those that are angry and/or violent, to avenge grievances - especially their own. Think of them like The Punisher.

Events

Please let VELIK know if you have a character to add to the Blood Legion! There are plenty of positions to fill and lots of work to go around (IC, of course). They can be a new or existing character - it doesn't matter! Players do not need permission to join the Blood Legion, but a quick heads up is appreciated. Let Velik know if you are interested in having your character join in the plot.

Founding Story - How was Olivia Azio's Cabin (The Blood Legion) founded?

Aerallis Claiming the Cabin

Something was in the woods.

The people in Snow Haven and surrounding areas had been passing it around for the last month and a half. In such a small amount of time, it had become something of an urban legend that started with the large body count and the accompanying fire in September. It was followed by a trail of charred human bones that had been picked clean and buried in the snow. Most of the bodies had had their teeth removed, making identification even harder for authorities. Those who ventured in the woods claimed to have seen it, but what they saw exactly, they all described as a specter of some kind - white and otherworldly, repeating two words over and over: Too late.

Civilians, at least for the time being, were advised against venturing into the woodlands. For some however, that was impossible. Some citizens lived in the woods.

Snow came more frequently. The Alaskan air was getting colder, driving the white-clad ghoul inward. It had become clear that she could no longer remain in the forest. Every day her limbs felt heavier. The magic in her body was fighting against the weather that threatened to freeze her still. If she didn't find cover to thaw soon, she would start to lose limbs. Or worse, she'd be unable to move at all, and risk starvation. That wasn't a risk she could take. Not when there was so much to do.

Having remained in the shadows, hidden from view, the lady ghoul had been stalking them for hours. She'd found a middle-aged couple, wrapped tightly for the weather, atop a frozen lake, ice fishing and gathering water. Likely for baths and drinking. They were hauling back a bucket or two of water and ice, a wrack of tied fish and one rabbit. Aerallis followed them to a handsome two-story log cabin - obscured by a wooden fence. Two bright lights were fixed on either side of the home's outside, illuminating almost the entire yard. The yard itself was at least half an acre...

And beside the house was what looked like a tiny house and an outdoor tub? She inhaled deeply. No, that thought was wrong. It was a sauna and a hot tub - both extremely appealing. The sauna would help her thaw. But for the time being, her gaze returned to the couple - greeted at the door by an Alaskan malamute and a small child. A boy, who couldn't have been older than six years old.

Too small for a full meal, but enough for a snack at best. The dog rushed outside barking loudly, against the protest of its humans. The man caught its collar and pulled it back, but the canine would not calm. It was looking directly at her. It knew she was there, and it was trying to warn its family of the danger lurking just outside. Aerallis's features remained indifferent. The dog had to go first. She watched them haul the furry beast inside, watched them go into the kitchen. The malamute never followed, and sat in front of the door, waiting. Thirty minutes later, it wandered off to join its family, and she eased down from her perch slowly.

Hushed footsteps carried her through the snow and the gate, towards the sauna. Once inside, the ruby on her glove activated, producing a small ball of fire to light the area as she examined the inner workings... The sauna operated via wood burning. The hot tub was probably the same. She shot the ball of fire into the wood pile and removed all clothing but for the glove.

A dull glow emitted from the black stone as it hummed to life, covering the inside shell of the sauna in darkness - to hide the glow of the fire from the human family's view. Patches of ice that had clung to her skin slowly melted away, and bit by bit, her limbs became less stiff. An hour later, a tendril of darkness snuffed out the flame. Aerallis emerged from the sauna nude, her outfit folded and dripping over her left arm as she moved back damp locks of white and black hair from her face. Silently, she walked around the house to check on the whereabouts of the family.

Antsy, the dog had risen when it felt the predator moving again. The couple had just put their son to bed, and were watching TV in their pajamas. The malamute, who had been curled up on the end of their bed, jumped off and darted out of the bedroom door, following the ghoul outside back to the entrance door.

"Sansa, hush!" Father's voice was harsh as he followed close behind. The dog pawed and barked at the door. "Okay, okay. You want to go outside. Fine." He opened the door. The yard was empty. "Go." She had already bolted outside and into the darkness.

As he yawned and started to shut the door, a pained yowl followed by a sickening CRACK! sliced through the air like an iced dagger. The shattering of glass entered his ears not long after. Thinking quickly, he reached for the shotgun mounted on the wall beside him - something that he kept when bears and other wild life broke into the yard. "Sansa?" He called, opening the door wider. The dog was no where to be seen. The predator had already dragged the beasts' body over the fence. The yard itself was dark now. Whatever was out there had shattered the bulbs.

"Sansa?" He called again, taking a tentative step forth. Inky fingers branched away from the dark of the woods beyond, extending towards him unseen. His eyes were focused in front of him, not on the ground. Soft footsteps could be heard from the gate.

"Sansa?" Instead of a dog, a striking naked beauty walked toward him, dragging a black sword behind her. Even as he pointed the barrel of the gun at her, she didn't stop. Shotgun. She couldn't let him fire it. Too loud.

"Stop r-" Tendrils of shadow wrapped around his ankles and arms, lifting him into the air. The sudden jerk of movement made him lose his grip, and the shotgun fell uselessly into the snow. Before he could even scream or shout, the tendrils spread and pulled in opposite directions - ripping his body in half. Warm blood spilled onto the snow, onto her arms and chest - earning a contented smile.

It seemed the wife had heard him calling for their pet, and had wandered downstairs. Aerallis moved quickly, deactivating the black gem and standing on the opposite side of the door.

"Dear...?" The woman stood in the doorframe and looked outside. It was too dark for her to see. Wearing a fur coat, she took a curious step away from the door as she looked around for her husband. Something slipped behind her, and arms wrapped around her neck, causing the woman to jump as someone pressed a kiss to her head.

"Too late." But the whispered voice was not her husbands'. It was a woman's. The arms around her night tightened and twisted, snapping her neck.

For two hours, the ghoul ate - both parents, but just one. Following that, she torched their clothes and the snow, evaporating all traces of blood and evidence. Afterwards she went inside, closing the door behind her, and took the first shower since her reanimation. It was... Heavenly. Over the next two days, she would be busy. Dressed in he madam's night gown, she crawled next to the boy in his head and cuddled with him. She would tell him that she was his aunt. Would feed him, clothe him and help him prepare for bed. Later that week, she hugged him and broke his neck before devouring him.

She made it look as though the parents had left, and had given the house to her - with papers to show for legal reasons, under the name Olivia Azio - for legal reasons, just in case. When Akasha had moved the reine to a location in the states, she had helped the Bloodmares with the paperwork. She was more than familiar with the process to do it on her own. Next was burning the man's clothes and ordering a new wardrobe for herself - save for a small select few pieces of the misses. She changed the furniture and burned all of the pictures, too. If the law, or any supernaturals, came snooping around, they wouldn't find any traces of the home's previous owners, Mr. and Mrs. Wansley.
