Jessica was born IVF as a result of her father, Byron, using a donated egg from her mother, Regina Pinto. Jessica was raised by her father and his friends, even homeschooled by them. Byron's friend, Libi, took her to the park often to teach her empathy and social skills. Jessica would routinely use her Factor to manipulate plants during these park visits, making unique flora as entertainment. One thing she really liked doing was experimenting with her powers, finding out what nutrients and effects would result. This made her ask often how people used plants to make life cooler. But the more she learned, the more disappointed she got by how little humanity was seemingly scratching the surface. When she asked why people didn't understand plants the way she does, Byron's friends accused people of selfishness, unwilling to tap the well because they fear it would benefit the people beneath them. While all of this kept happening, her parents were dating and getting serious. She could tell that dating Regina made her dad really happy which made her like her by default. This was her ray of sunshine amidst coping with how humanity seemingly was. Her happiness peaked when she was 7 when they got married. After the event, she began attending private school. Three years later in 2009, her father told her they had to move to Fort Lauderdale because of the true nature of his work. He was the leader of a crime family and his supposed occupation of being the CEO of an MLM life insurance company was little more than legal cover. He explained that everything he was working toward was for her, his wife, friends, and mentor, but that to achieve his goals, he needed South Florida's climate to activate a necessary component of his plan. She was perfectly accepting of this given the homeschooling she received teaching her their values. Jessica asked if she was too young to help out, to which he said yes. But he assured her that she was the right age to begin combat training. After the move, she would begin receiving training from her dad, his friends, and Norman. She would still attend school, but now she would spar at The Tuesday Academy, a PMC that trained people to be mercenaries, regardless of age that was working alongside her father. One thought that burdened her was the fear that her conviction was weakening over time. This fear would manifest in her below-average performing during training. Trying and failing to rediscover her passion, she sat alone at a park bench, frustrated over the time she seemingly wasted. All that changed during a sparring match with an older Tuesday Academy member. Said member had the ability to manipulate his own body. He kept mocking her Factor, claiming it was clearly inferior to his. This persisted throughout the match, making her remember why she wanted to help her father in the first place, because people refused to understand the true potential of plant life. After beating him very badly, Jessica rededicated herself back to her dad's cause.
