V'mallo, or V as she prefers to be called, was born on the First in the Crystarium. She grew up around the Crystal Tower's technology and was always fascinated by it, even more so with what tech remnants were contained in Eulemore to the point she found a supplier inside the city to buy what she could as an adult.

During the events of Shadowbringers V was instrumental in aiding Cordelia Makalt and Broil Makalt with everything that was happening, and when they returned to the Source V begged to go with them. The talk of Magitek and everything new the Source had to offer was too much to pass up, even if the only way to go might have killed her.

Willing to risk death, V was put inside a piece of White Auracite and carried through the portal back to the Source. Creating her a body similar to how one made Porxies or similar companions wasn't difficult, and V took to the new body with a weird ease.

She took up working for the Garlond Ironworks as a way to make her living, quickly proving herself more than capable and extremely fast to learn. When everyone was headed to Ultima Thule V was eager to join them, gun in hand as she walked onto the ship.

After the events of Endwalker, Kayleth Vearins came to the Free Company. His people were guarding some old Allegan relic and V wanted to get her hands on it to study it, and the negotiations had been made on her behalf. Kayleth wanted to get away from his village and his people and escorted the artifact, asking to stay with the Free Company and V after she went full blown 'tism on the device. V appreciates his help, and the FC appreciates having someone else who can mind the house and do mundane medical work.

The journey to Tural was a fun one, and V has had an absolute blast inside Alexandria. She's fascinated by the Electrope now, wanting to unlock all of its potential.

Because several timelines exist for these characters things can get a bit confusing, so I wanted a space to give a small explainer of this.

Please be aware there may be spoilers for any point of the game's story, so read at your own risk.

The Primary Timeline has V still in the First at the Crystarium.

The Secondary Timeline is the one that you can safely assume applies to most of the information on this page about V. It's also the timeline listed in her history section.

The Tertiary Timeline is V stepping back as she's getting on in years while her son, V'raka, helps the WoL. But she's always available as tech support!
