Lio returned from the bathrooms to find Adela sat at her table with no one in front of her. Perfect chance! He approached the table politely, trying not to come across as too overbearing with his movements, and gestured to one of the chairs. "May I? I would love to talk to you." Of course, he would give the impression that he was trying to apply to be a crew member on her ship, but perhaps he could worm his way to making her relax enough to carefully take her earring.

She studied the stranger as he stood across from her. He certainly was . . . boldly dressed. He had an easy air about him and a glint in his eye that made Adela suspicious. But there could be no harm in talking to him, so she let him sit. Adela gestured toward the chair as if to say 'well no one else is sitting there.'

(I figured :). Dw, you're good. Besides, your character doesn't really come in again until they set sail)

@The-Magician group

"Thank you." He pulled out the chair and gracefully sat down. "So I hear you're looking for crew members. How fruitful has your search proved thus far?" The more Lio thought about it, there must have been some reason that a woman was searching for crew members—and she seemed to be searching in a hurry too. What was she running away from?

@Moxie group

"Fruitful enough, and the night is still young." Hmm. He was chatty. The first boy had been chatty as well. Adela hoped she wasn't employing an overly-talkative crew. It made her like Andre even more. She took a sip of her drink. "Now can I help you, or did you just come to chat?"

@The-Magician group

"I'll get to the point." Lio's eyes softened suddenly and he leaned towards Adela by just an inch. "I'm getting bored around here, and if you're looking for another pair of hands then I'm willing to offer my services." He leaned back, offering the woman a bright but gentle smile. He could tell she wasn't one for small talk, no worries, he'd throw that card off the table. "What do you say?"

@Moxie group

Adela stared at him. She still wasn't sure about him. Everyone had intentions and people with intentions as vague as his were dangerous. However, it was nothing Adela couldn't handle she knew how to deal with even the most difficult of crewmates, and she could always leave without him tomorrow. "What's your name?"

Name: Kyla and Connie Jynx
Age: 21
Pronouns: She/her
Sexuality: Asexual and Bisexual
Personality: Kyla is a quiet one, talking only when she feels like it’s needed. Her facial expressions get across what she means well enough, her sister understands them. If she were a deadly sin, it would be Pride. She takes so much pride in her work and in herself. Connie is one of the most charismatic folks you’ll come across, she can win you over with a smile and a wink and she can pick up on social cues faster then you can say social cues. Even with all of that, she is very easily agitated.
Appearance: Both of the sister’s appearances are much the same, as they are almost completely identical. Both have dirty blonde hair that leans toward the curly side and have sunkissed skin. They stand at around 5’8 and have more of an angular face structure with dark brown, almost black eyes. However, Connie’s hair is cut in a wild bob and she has a beauty mark above her lip on the right side and Kyla’s hair is pushed into a loose braid and has a faint, but noticeable, scar going from her right ear to the edge of her lips.
Clothing: Kyla wears a simple blouse tucked into some pantaloons and with a long coat thrown over it. The coat is a deep red with black stitching, it has lots of pockets and a small symbol on the right breast pocket: A curved blade with a rose. Connie tends to wear most of the same things, a simple blouse, a light grey color, but instead of pantaloons, she often sports a long skirt with pants underneath. Like her sister, she had the same cloak.
Talents: Kyla’s the strongest, used to working the sails and, you know, carrying bodies. She’s skilled in a lot of weaponry, but mainly uses a pair of daggers or a falchion. Connie is most often times the bait, she’s pretty damn good at manipulation and can scam a gambler out of his poker chips. She’s fast and light on her feet, using a double-bladed staff that seemingly breaks in the middle, instead of breaking, it splits open to reveal a chain.
Motivations: Bloodlust, mostly.
Background (optional): The two grew up on the streets, Connie ended up working as a wench and Kyla worked at the docks. Then one day, they got kidnapped by pirates who didn’t expect two little girls to fight back. They had no idea what they were doing, but Connie managed to steal a blade from one of her captors and stabbed him. The captain got a kick out of that and was kind of impressed, so he took the two girls under his wings and taught them how to fight and how to kill. Soon, enough, they killed the entire crew, captain included. They let the ship burn.
Other (optional): They’re known as the Double-Bladed Rose, a feared pair of killers.

Lio's smile slowly fell until his expression was nothing more than neutral, an expression he wasn't a huge fan of. "The name's Lio, like the star sign." He rubbed his chin for a moment, trying to think of a way to take that earring from her. "What's your name by the way?"

(I'm sorry, that's all I got)

@Moxie group

Over Lio's shoulder, Adela saw a tall, burly man watching her. He stood, still watching her, and started to walk towards her table. Her jaw clenched and her eyes narrowed ever so slightly. "Adela Sheppard," she said, her eyes not leaving the swaying man as he walked over, a cruel smile on his face.

He pulled a chair up from the table next to them and sat down next to Adela. He leaned on the table, practically blocking Lio from her view. Adela's hand went under her coat to the knife that was strapped to the outside of her thigh. "Now what's a little girl like you doing in a place like this?" His breath reeked of ale.

Adela rolled her eyes. "Get out of my face. Trust me, I'm not worth the trouble."

@The-Magician group

Adela… A name meaning 'noble'. A slight furrow crossed his eyebrows before he cleared his thoughts. Lio was familiar with the man who had made himself present at the table—he was known for being excessively drunk more often than not—and when that man was drunk he became nothing short of a harassment, especially towards women. Though Adele appeared to be completely indifferent to being spoken to, he admired the strong mind of that woman.

@Moxie group

"Aww, let's not be like that sweetheart. Besides, I like 'em firey," the man drawled, licking his lips.

Adela's hand clenched down on the hilt of her knife. She could feel bile rising in her throat. Around her, she could see people from nearby tables starting to watch the fun. "I told you to get out of my face," Adela said, her voice low. "I won't fucking ask you again."

"Oh come on." The man's hand came up to caress the side of her face. "I bet you're all bark and no bite. Come on, I got a nice room upstairs I could show you."

Adela's eyes darkened. She froze for a moment, paralyzed. Then she snapped into action. Her hand came up and seized the man's hand. She stood and pushed his hand around his back and shoved him into the table. She pulled his chair away and he fell to his knees. Her knife was out of it's sheath and pointed at his neck in seconds. "Don't fucking touch me," she growled.

Now the man was angry. "Get off me, you bitch!" he yelled, struggling to break free.

Connie and Kyla had been staying in town for a month or so, taking up some jobs while they waited to see if anyone was looking for a crew. Connie was working in the tavern, bringing drinks to people with ease, and Kyla was mostly just loading cargo for outgoing ships. Sure, they still took a few kill jobs, but didn't want anyone to really know the Double-Bladed Rose was in town, too much trouble came from that.

Right now, Connie was talking to Kyla, who sat at a table near the door. Their conversation, well, Connie talking to Kyla, was interrupted by some noise from a different table. She headed toward the noise, expecting another brawl but was met with a pleasant sight. Another woman who had the guts to defend herself.

Her face kept that lovely retail smile and she tilted her head. "Is there anything I can do for you, sir? However, we do ask that you keep to a quieter tone, to respect the other patrons." Connie asked, an innocent look in her eyes like she couldn't see the dagger pointed at his throat.
