"Oh, no, yeah. I mostly just like his older stuff," Kasey said, nodding in agreement.
"Oh, no, yeah. I mostly just like his older stuff," Kasey said, nodding in agreement.
Barry leaned his elbow against the side of the car. "Yeah." Glancing out the window, he caught sight of a coffee shop. "Is that one it?"
Kasey nodded as she pulled into the parking lot.
"Yup. Best coffee and scones around," she said with a chuckle, parking her car in a spot reserved for staff.
"Yum." Barry grinned as he climbed out of the car, the crisp air startling him momentarily, he hadn't expected it to be this cold. No matter, he had a sweater in his bag, and the air was refreshing.
Kasey stepped out of her car and locked the doors. She smiled over at Barry and nodded toward the cafe's entrance. "Ready?"
"For scones? Always." Barry was already halfway to the door, stomach grumbling loudly.
Kasey laughed lightly and caught up to him. "You won't get a discount if you don't wait for me, you know."
Barry rolled his eyes jokingly and pushed the door open, holding it for her. "What about if I hold the door for you?"
"Well… I suppose that'll work," Kasey sighed, biting back a chuckle.
"In that case, after you." Barry gave her a mock bow, eyed sparkling mischeviously.
(Oof I haven't been writing in his weather influence powers I should start that soon)
(and yes I know I misspelled that last word but notebook is glitching and won't let me fix it)
(It's fine. Lol. I spell it wrong all the time.)
"Why thank you, sir," Kasey giggled, curtsying before she walked inside.
(lol)
Barry's face lit up with a ridiculous grin. Following her inside, he breathed in the aroma of coffee and……. scones.
"Kasey! Hey! You're early!" a bubbly blonde chirped from behind the counter.
"Yeah, I brought a friend for coffee and the strawberry scones," Kasey explained with a small laugh, gesturing to Barry.
"I see that. Hi, Kasey's friend! I'm Willow," the blonde introduced herself.
(omg willowwwwwwwwwww)
Barry gave the girl a friendly smile. "Hey, I'm Barry. Me and Kasey room across from eachother."
(I'm not good with new names. Lol.)
"Oh, so you're Barry! Kasey talks about you all the time," Willow bubbled with a wide smile.
"Willow, stop! Anyway… Barry, what do you want?" Kasey asked, changing the subject.
(lol)
Barry's heart tattoo flamed up for a second. "Um– yeah. Hi. Uh… Kasey you mentioned strawberry scones?"
"Yup. So we'll get two scones, I'll get a mint mocha, and Barry… He can order his own coffee," Kasey chuckled, rubbing at her tattoo.
"Could I get a chocolate mocha please?" Barry's eyes flicked to her tattoo. "Don't rub that, it could get irritated."
Kasey sighed and clasped her hands together.
"Sure thing. Two scones, one mint mocha, and one chocolate mocha coming right up," Willow said with a grin.
"Thanks.", Barry thanked her and shifted his weight, suddenly slightly awkward.
Kasey thanked Willow before going to stand by the pick-up counter.
"So, Bare, what class do you have first?" she asked.
"Psychology with Professor Sutcliffe. You?" Barry followed her, standing a little closer than absolutely necessary.
"I've got Calculus with Professor Raddison," Kasey replied, then chuckled. "Man is that woman tough."
"She scares me, dear lord. She found me wandering around on my first day on campus and practically screamed at me to get where I needed to be." Barry laughed, remembering. "And calculus? Good luck, Raddison plus Maths doesn't really make the best combination.
Willow handed them their food and drinks with a smile and a wink at Kasey, who rolled her eyes.
"Yeah, I don't know how I'm even passing her class, to be honest," Kasey laughed, taking her things and turning to find a table.
Barry caught the wink and turned away quickly, feeling flushed. "I'd probably drop out." They took a seat next to the window, and Barry picked up a scone, taking a tentative bite. "Wow. This is good."
"I told you," Kasey chuckled, poking him with her foot. She took a sip of her coffee and immediately set the cup back down. "Holy buckets, that was hot!"
"Holy buckets?" Barry chuckled. "Never heard that one before." He took a cautious sip of his own, careful not to burn his tongue. "These are both really good."
Kasey glared at him.
"It's a thing," she grumbled, biting into her scone.
Barry resisted the urge to brush some crumbs off the side of her mouth, grinning. "Fine, fine, it's a thing." He took another bite of the delicious scones.
