"I understand, your soldiers need you for your strength on the battlefields." she nodded, clasping her hands together and just leaving them in that position.
"I will say, Its not as if i enjoy a arranged marriage, however you have been nothing but kind since i got here. I cant imagine it being as bad as some may say." she offered a soft smile to him, "contrary to popular belief im not a fan of being alone all the time. Though I'm sure i can find ways to busy myself while your gone."

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

Lucian gave her a kind smile. She wasn't what he was expecting at all. "The palace and it's grounds are yours. Should you wish to venture to the village you may do so as well as long as you have your entourage with you. I'm sure you'll make friends to keep you company."
He moved to the door. "I'll leave you be until the wedding. I just wanted to make sure you're alright with consumating tonight after the ceremony. You may come to my rooms if you're ready. If you do not, I understand. I'll deal with any advisor that tries to say something."

She smiled back at him, nodding to what he was saying. “I will most likely end up doing so, though I will still miss and worry over my spouse who’s gone to fight in a war. Perhaps we should trade off writing letters to each other when we are not in person?” She suggested as she saw him move to leave.
“I will see you at the wedding tonight.” She spoke, moving to close the door as he left. She was not anywhere near ready for having kids with someone but she didn’t have the ability to tell him.

"I will write to you," Lucian promised then. "I will wrote to you as much as I'm able." There was little he would be able to say. He would fill the pages with nonsense, worried anything else might horrify his bride, something he was trying to not do.
"I will see you tonight." And then he was gone. He needed to get ready himself but he found himself walking towards the training yard. Just an hour or so and he would be satisfied. Just an hour.
It turned to be longer than an hour.

She spent a good amount of the time before the wedding just thinking about what it would be like to be married, he seemed like a good guy all things to be considered. Though she really didn't know that much about him…
How was she going to tell him she wasn't ready to have kids? She didn't want to leave him alone in his room..
She thought about all the while getting ready up until it was time to go, and she was waiting for her que to walk down the aisle.

Lucian had barely made it back in time to bathe and get ready. He dressed in garb of black and red, designs of his house and his dragon had been etched into the clothing. His hair had been plaited out of his face, letting it fall in soft waves down his back. His sword was strapped to his side, more ceremonial than for actual use. Or so he hoped. It was bad luck to kill a man at your wedding. But it was better than not having it at all.
He made it just at the end of the aisle with only minutes to spare. He ignored the disappointing look from his father and waited for the doors to open and reveal his bride.

When it was finally her time to go to him, she walked down the aisle, only looking at him with a smile as she walked in time with the music. When she got go the alter, she moved to turn and face him.
She was ready to get married.

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

The wedding had commenced. The piano played and the choir harmonized and the bride walked down the aisle. A priest stood at the front, beginning his speech. Vows of love and loyalty were passed and a drop of blood was shared between the two. They were pronounced husband and wife and kissed one another before the gods. Lucian ended the kiss as quickly as it had started, not wanting to cause any discomfort to his bride. Cheers erupted and the party was taken to the reception.
A table at the front of the dining hall had been reserved for the bride and groom. The royal family had a table just to the side and the rest of the courtiers took to the tables scattered throughout. Food was passed and wine was drunk. The music played and men and women alike danced. Lucian remained in his seat, still sipping on his first glass of wine, watching. He had a hand palming his sword. He was cautious, wary. It would be bad luck to kill a man but he would should it be necessary.

She wasn't expecting the kiss in all honestly, though when it happened she found herself blushing enough to match her name. She quickly tried to calm down her flustered and heated face so it wouldn't be so apparent. When the kids ended she immediately looked away from him to hide her face.
She sat with him at their table as people dance, she noticed how he put a hand on the top of his sword and how he was cautious. She moved to place her hand on his own, to remind him that he wasn't alone and she was sure that it wouldn't be needed.
"Perhaps…we should…dance?"

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

Lucian blinked serval times before turning and facing Ruby. He had been too utterly focused to feel her moving until she was touching him. he placed his hand on hers, gave it a squeeze, then promptly moved it off of his sword. He didn't like people touching his things, especially his weapons. He also didn't want to risk her getting hurt.
"Would you like to dance?" He knew enough that was an invitation for him to ask her. He may be a man but he was versed enough in the ways of a woman that he knew when to ask for dance.

She moved her hand away from his hand when he moved it off of his sword. She nodded to him when he did so, before hearing him ask her if she would like to dance. She just thought it could be fun, but she didn't think about all of the people that could be watching and waiting for her to fail or mess up.
"Well..i would, would you?"

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

Lucian stood then, and held out his hand for her to take. "I'll dance as ling as you'd like."
He wasn't particularly found of dancing. He would rather finish his dinner and go to bed. He found no enjoyment of entertaining courtiers and found these receptions to be more for them than for the married couple.

Ruby stood up and took his hand, moving to walk with him towards the dance floor. She smiled at him softly and noticed his gaze was a bit distracted, so she moved a bit closer to him and whispered to him. “Hey…don’t focus on them, focus on me.”

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

Lucian looked down at his wife. What a strange thing to say. Wife. He never thought he would have one of those. At least not for a long time. He gave her a soft smile and brought her hand up to his lips. "Of course, my dear, my attention is all yours."

@imJUSTasillylittleguy group

she ended up blushing as he held her hand up to his lips, and he kissed it. She let out a soft giggle, though she didn't know why she was giggling. She honestly was so hocked no one else wanted to be with him, he's such a dream.
"As mine is yours, my love." She spoke softly, smiling at him.

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

Lucian led her to the dance floor. He placed a gentle hand on her waist and held the other in his hand. His ha ds, rough and riddled with calluses. Years of training and battle had hardened the skin along with his heart. It would a take a long while for him to open uo his heart and let someone in. Perhaps this gentle creature would be the one to do it. Or perhaps she wouldn't. Only time would tell.

He led her into the waltz, swaying with the music and following along the steps. He was a good dancer, he just didn't enjoy it. But he would entertain his wife for as long as she wanted to dance.

@imJUSTasillylittleguy group

She was dancing with him for a while along the dance floor, but she could tell that he wasn't really enjoying it. So she told him that she was good after about an hour of dancing, she felt bad for making him dance for so long but she didn't want to leave his embrace…It made her feel safe, and it was a lot nicer then being watched by everyone that was there.
She felt herself lean a bit into him as they danced, before stood up straight and went to go sit down with him when they were finished up with dancing.
"Thank you, for dancing with me. I enjoyed it." She spoke softly.

@ElderGod-yellowqueen

Lucian had other places he would rather be but he wasn't a barbarian. He had just been married and he wasn't going to abandon his new wife on the dance floor just hours after they had been married. He may be a brutal man, but he would not shame his wife. He would do good by her. Mainly by leaving her to her own devices and giving her the freedom, physically and financially to do so.
He nodded his head to her as the dance finally ended and they went to go sit. He took a glass of wine, sipping on it as he settled into his seat. "You should drink. You must be thirsty." Dancing for what seemed like hours to him had left him parched. There was water and wine available and hard liquor was only a request away.
