(oh gosh! What happened?? (if you don't mind me asking)

"well you know…you never know" he shrugs "well don't go anywhere" he jokes, heading out of the room.
He makes his way downstairs, keeping an eye out for wherever his daughter was.
His eyes catch sight of her near the fireplace as she poked the coals with the fire iron. He walks up to her "hey Fia i told you not to touch that" he scolds, bending down and taking it from her. Though it was more he put his hand on the iron and she let go. He puts it back into the tall wired container that held all of the fire irons.
She looks up to him "sorry" she says, looking over to the kitchen.
"its okay baby. The reason i don't want you touching that is so you don't get hurt. Okay?" he says calmly.
She nods and runs to the kitchen, getting distracted once again.
He follows her into the kitchen and grabs the first aid kit. Which was simply a cardboard box that had been taped together with medical supplies inside of it.
"Let's go ahead and go upstairs for now okay? When im done fixing up Jax we can go outside and check on the crops together" he offers.
Fia turns around "really!! Will it stop storming?" she asks excitedly as she runs towards the staircase. "It should here soon." he nods to her
They make there way up the stairs and into the room, Fia going into their own room and Cass slipping into the room Jax was in.
"hey. Sorry i took a little longer. Fia was downstairs" he says, setting the box down on the hardwood floor and kneeling down to see his leg.
He grimaces but he keeps himself composed as he gets out everything he would need. Sadly, Cass did not have any access to Iodine.

"Well screw you too, gettin' pissy at me when you're the one asking probing questions." She growled, turning her attention towards Ryder and Gabriel to avoid tiring herself out with anger. Her temper was terrible and it had a tendency to wear her out.

She mainly observed Gabriel, still really weirded out and confused on what the hell he was doing here and why they were so okay with keeping a zombie around like a beloved pet. Or, more accurately, why Ryder kept him around like a beloved pet. David didn't seem to like anything that wasn't himself or his notebook so she couldn't really include him.

David completely ignore’s Frenchie’s comment, angry as well and also avoiding working himself up. He turns completely around so his back is facing them, taking out his compact computer again, booting it up and opening his notebook, flipping through to find an exact page.
Gabriel again starts to mindlessly gnaw at Ryder’s arm through the muzzle, receiving a soft smile from Ryder as he ruffles his messy black hair.
Even if he was a zombie, he was still Ryder’s friend. Best friend at that. Besides, the whole zombie thing was a virus, right? David had said before that people who hadn’t previously been dead and had just been bitten actually could still be in there somewhere.
He turns to look back to Frenchie and David, catching Frenchie observing Gabriel. Many questions came to mind to ask, but he wasn’t really keen on prying specifically on sensitive subjects. And the apocalypse made most subjects sensitive.
“Don’t worry, he’s harmless.” He says, sitting down now, not specifying which guy he was referring to- David or Gabriel.

Jesse opens the door slowly "Ghabiun" (ha-bean) She calls as she lowers her voice. Not making it softer but more firm than it already was.
She slips into the room rather quickly, closing/slamming the door behind her in a hurry so the dog wouldn't get out.
You can here the chain rattling from the other side of the door and a small click. Jesse had attached the chain to the dogs collar.
"Sitzen" she says firmly. The clacking of the nails against the floor stop and so does the growling. With that, Jesse wraps the chain around her hand and firmly holds onto it before she slides the door open.
On the other side of the door is a 110 pound dog that now standing, stood at about 3 feet tall. It had cropped ears and a big square face that matches its muscular, square like build. It has a brindle coat pattern of black and brown and its eyes were a deep orange color. It looked like a mix between a cane corso and a bull mastiff but Jesse had no idea what breed it actually was.
Ghabiun bares his teeth and lunges forward to go out of the room and towards the unfamiliar people with the intent to most definitely rip their faces off. But before the dog could cross the doorway it's pulled back by Jesse.
She gripped the leather collar that was wrapped around its neck and pulls the dog close to her, "Beißen Sie nicht" she says quietly to the dog as it struggles to get away from her. It's head was turned halfway to her but its orange eyes were wide and locked onto Clovis.

Clovis turns to looks at the dog once he’s finished wiping off Onyx’s hands, not moving quickly. He looks from the dog to Jesse, then back to the dog.
Where the heck did she find him?
At least she has a leash.
He looks back to Jesse, not showing that he wasn’t a fan on his face, but instead staying neutral. “W-would it help for you to let him smell us?” He asks, just not wanting the dog to stay suspicious of them.
Onyx stays frozen, eyes wide and staring past Jesse. He could hear the dog, smell it even. He could feel the RV shift in the slightest when it walked. He draws his brows together when Clovis speaks up, irritated that he was talking over the soft breaths of the animal.
Would she let me come with her? Can I touch it? Would she let me feed it? Will it bite me? I think it would like me. It doesn’t like dad, does it?

@Elder-God-Jacks347

She raised an eyebrow, unconvinced. "Which one? The one that'll kill me or the zombie?" She snorted with a roll of her eyes. "What makes this one zombie so different, huh? There's thousands out there and yet you choose to make this one your constant companion? What's up with that? I'm sure you have a reason and it's not like I've got anything better to do than listen."

@chickenfrogman group

Ryder gives a short, breathy chuckle. “I can’t say anything about that one,” he jokes, nodding towards David, “I’ve only been with him for a few weeks. But Gabriel won’t get to you with his muzzle and gloves.” Gabriel leans into him as he speaks, flopping down beside him and trying to eat away at his back now.
“I grew up with Vamp here, just because he’s sick doesn’t mean I’m leaving him.” He says, his voice quieter now, since he didn’t like to mention it around David. “Besides, David says there is still a chance for a cure for people who were bitten. As long as they weren’t already dead.” He glances over his shoulder to Gabriel, “Isn’t that right?” He looks back to Frenchie. “Call me stupid, but if there’s a chance he’d be okay then I’m not throwing away that chance for him.” Although his words were more serious, he ends his sentence with a soft chuckle, taking the conversation very lightly.
David stares at his screen, overhearing their conversation but not acknowledging it. He draws his brow together, glaring into the dim light of the computer as he filled in information.

(I had a hangnail and it got infected. Terrible experience. 10/10 would not recommend.)

Jax lay in the silence thinking about how everything had flown by in a blur. Knocking on Cass’ door, getting his arm sutured, getting a fever, bonding with Cass and telling him things about his life, and Fia being absolutely awed by him. Now he lay in Cass’ spare bedroom with an infected leg. Jax didn’t care if Cass wasn’t a doctor. He had managed to suture up his arm. He trusted Cass. It was weird. He never trusted anyone. Well, he trusted Cass enough not to kill him. Jax removed his arm from over his eyes, blinking to adjust to the light. There was little of it, but it still hurt him. He heard heavy footsteps march up the stairs and figured it was Cass. He sat himself up, interested to see how Cass was going to fix this.

Jax watched as Cass entered to room with a box. He was curious as to what could possibly be in that box and if was actually going to survive Cass’ lack of medical knowledge. It should be fine. You haven’t died from an arm infection He looked at Cass when he kneeled next to Jax. “That’s alright. It just gave me more time to prepare myself.” Seeing Cass grimace, he knew it was bad. He might as well join the ranks of the undead like the many folk stories, but rather than becoming a vampire or ethereal angel, he’d be a corpse that was falling apart. “I know it's awful. I should have treated it, but I had nothing to treat it with.” He took a deep breath, preparing for the pain to follow.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

Jesse looks from the dog, to Clovis, then to Onyx as she shrugs, nodding her head. She stands so she can get a better footing just in case Ghabiun tried anything.
"if you want to, you can pet him." She says more to Onyx than Clovis. But if Clovis wanted to, he wasn't going to bite him. Not if Jesse had a good hold on him.
She still didn't like Clovis, so she couldn't care less if the dog bit him. Though the kid she didn't have a problem with. So for his sake, she kept a tight hold on the collar.
Jesse had found him about 6 months before the virus broke out and she's been with him ever since. She had found him with a band of men who raised. sold, and traded dogs for illegal dog fights. Jesse had business with one of them but the trade went wrong and she ended up doing some more than questionable things that ended in the dog chasing her out and farther. The owner was dead and she thought why not
So she ended up (for lack of a better word) keeping the dog where she and some friends lived and eventually earned his trust after having to be stitched up multiple times. It wasn't easy and it took a little too long, but to her it was worth it.
When the virus did break out, they still had their differences still but they stuck together, as Jesse made sure he was fed and safe from anyone, or anything else who wanted him. Whether it be for protection, or for food, she didn't let him out of her sight.

Cass sets out a few rags, gauze, alcohol and a few other smaller things as he hums to himself. Trying to make sure he got everything.
He looks back up to Jax, then to his leg as he wets the rag with water "If it makes you feel any better, I've seen worse." he says calmly, gently running the cold cloth over the wound, trying his best not to cause Jax any more pain but also to get any dirt, mud, or blood that was causing irritation to the skin.
"I served for a good bit of my days before this. I can say I've probably had a few of these myself." he says, setting the rag down and getting a smaller rag that he had wetted downstairs with warmer water over the stove.
He holds it to the wound for a few seconds before setting that down as well. Once he sees the wound clearly without any of the elements of the earth hiding it. He grabs a small blade and looks to Jax. "I don't have anything to help with the pain. And i apologize. So you might want to brace yourself" he says, not fully knowing what he was doing but knowing enough to help.

@chickenfrogman group

Clovis looks back to the dog and slowly offers his hand to it for it to smell. “Hey, bud. Don’t mind us, will you?” He quietly/softly says, doing his best to show the dog he wasn’t a threat.
Onyx for the first time since they got into the RV takes a step forward, stepping softly so nothing should poke through his feet. He puts a hand on Clovis’ shoulder as he steps, and kneels down a little with a hand out.
Will it let me pet it?? Can I feel it?!
“What’s it’s name?” He asks.

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Jax smiles at Cass. “Thanks for the reassurance.” He knew this was going to be hell, so his best bet to take the pain. Maybe get a stick to bite on. The cold rag running over the wound was painful enough that you could see a shiver run up his body. The skin was so sensitive, that even with a light touch it felt like pins and needles. “A few infected wounds?” He question Cass. “That must have been…torture.” Jax was already seeing double and the worst of it hadn’t even started. He put his hand to his head and laid back down. At least he laid in a comfy bed. If he passed out, it wouldn’t be that bad this time. He wouldn’t have to got to shed. He eyed the small blade and most pass out then and there. He wasn’t afraid of sharp objects, but thinking about the pain that came with it nauseated him.

Jax took a small breath. “I understand. I’ll try my best, but hey, if I pass out you don’t have to take me outside.” He closed his eyes, ready for any sharp jabs. Although, he wasn’t sure how much pain there would be. The would hurt, yes, but any pockets of grossness shouldn’t be painful because of pressurization. What Jax worried about the most was sutures. He couldn’t do it again. Hell no! Not again. Jax looked paler than usual.

(haha ive never written a dog so bare with me)

Jesse loosens her grip just a little on the leash so the dog could pull forward.
Ghabiun lets out a low growl before pulling his nose forward to Clovis' hand. Jesse pulls back on the leash just enough to let him know he wasn't allowed to bite and that he was only allowed to smell it.
It's wet nose runs against Clovis' rough hands, his callouses causing him to pull back just a little, his front paws raising from the floor and down again, shaking the RV before he leans back to Clovis. His tail starts to wag, and as it does his whole lower half swings back and forth, rocking the vehicle just a little.
"His name is Ghabiun" Jesse says proudly. "It's Arabic" she says, becoming a little less tense now that her dog wasn't showing as much aggression.
Ghabiun looks over to Onyx and tries to step towards him to smell him as well but Jesse pulls back on the leash, waiting for Clovis' say so before letting the animal near his son. Just because she didn't like him, didn't mean she would disrespect him.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

Cass shakes his head "oh more than that honestly. I've seen more than my fair share of amputations in my time" he pauses "sorry. That's a bit much" Cass says, biting his tongue. He felt bad for Jax and the fact that he had to do all of this but he wasn't about to leave this wound here to get worse.
Cassius was received the wound wasn't as bad as Jax made it sound to be. He worried he would have to amputate. Something he never liked dealing with. Whether he was doing it or he was watching.
He clears his throat. "uhm…i can knock you out if you'd like?" Cass asks Jax hesitantly. "it wouldn't feel great obviously but im sure it'd feel better than this" he offers preparing himself for whatever Jax's reply would be

@chickenfrogman group

Clovis gives a tight smile, having recognized the language before she’d said anything. It was one he was already familiar with. He itches the side of the dog’s neck once it’s sniffed him a good bit.
Onyx takes a handful of Clovis’ shirt while the dog rocks the RV a little bit, holding himself steady with Clovis’ weight. He shivers with excitement, pressing his heels into the floor and listening to the dog growl at Clovis then continue on to smell him.
“Do you speak Arabic fluently?” Clovis asks, looking to Jesse, then back to the dog when he heads towards Onyx. He goes to say he was fine to sniff Onyx too, but before he can say anything Onyx had already felt the shift in the RV and the breath on his skin. He takes an unsteady step forward and offers his hand, only an inch of two from the dogs nose.

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Jax looked at Cass with worry in his eyes. “Amputation? That sounds awful..” His voice got quiet. He wondered how much Cass had seen and experienced. He seemed like a military veteran, but at his age? Jax couldn’t believe so. Then again, they’ve been in an apocalypse. He looked down at his leg. It looked better without all the debris, but it was still puffy and gross. He weighed how much this may hurt if he stayed awake. It would be excruciating in some areas, and others would-be manageable. He looked over at Cass when he offers a form of anesthesia. “I—“ He paused, going over his options. He figured being uncomfortable was better than screaming. “I-I think it might be best.” He tried to focus on Cass, his vision was already wonky, his mind terrorizing him. “Maybe use pressure points?” Jax suggested. He didn’t mind Cass’ other way, but he wanted to avoid more injuries this poor man would have to take care of. “I don’t want you to tend to more injuries.” He felt like he already put too much stress on Cass. He knew it was his instinct to help someone who wondered around like a helpless baby deer, but he still felt bad. He closed his eyes, bracing for any type of impact if Cass chose that route.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

Jesse looks to Clovis, blinking before nodding "English, German, Arabic" she says plainly "You?" she asks him, her eyes now on Ghabiun
The dog freezes for a second before looking back at Jesse, then to Onyx before sniffing his hand. He leans forward a little more to sniff the rest of his arm. Ghabiun was breathing rather hard right now as he was excited. The dog licks Onyx's hand a few times before letting out a rather loud, big sneeze of excitement. He hadn't met any new people in a long while. Jesse was surprised with how well he was behaving and she was quite proud of him and it showed on her face.
-
Cass raises his brows, having forgotten about pressure points all together. "right" he says quietly.
He didn't know much about pressure points but what he did know what this.
One: only strikes to the head would knock someone out. The rest will only cause immense amount of pain.
Two: If done wrong, using a pressure point can still cause severe damage.
And three…. he had no idea how to use a pressure point other than punching someone in the side of the jaw.
Cass wondered if Jax knew that though. He was curious as to a lot of things involving Jax's knowledge to certain things.
That was all Cass knew about pressure points and even then he didn't know if they were all correct.
"the side of the jaw would work best and most likely cause the least amount of injury to anything internally. Though i am not educated on anything else so if you have any better ideas, tell me know so we can get this over with." he says calmly, slight nervousness in his voice.
Cassius was trained in a lot of things including violence but not in something like pressure points.
He was taught to disarm, gather intel, and kill. And how to do it right.
"I dont mind tending to injuries. It's you im worried about. If you dont want to, i can just try to hurry and get this over with. Maybe you'll pass out from the pain again" he jokes

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Jax opened one eye to look at Cassius. He just wanted to get this over with without feeling anything. “Uh…there’s a pressure point in my neck that if you hit it, it would lower my blood pressure. But I’d rather you not smash my arteries to accomplish that. Just hit me, Cass. It’ll make things easier.” He noticed the hitch of nervousness in Cass’ voice and decided to not continue the topic. In reality, he didn’t know much about it either, just a few interesting things he researched. Jax knew a lot about medicine, how to fight off attackers, and other niche things. “I don’t have any other ideas.” Weird as it might be, Jax was ready to be punched. He wanted to wake up with a bandaged leg. “If you don’t mind, then that's okay with me. I just don’t want to feel any more pain, so passing out is not an option. Don’t break anything at least.” He gave Cass one last glance. This glance told him Jax could take a punch. He was tough enough. He closed his eye and got himself comfortable on the bed. He adjusted his head, so he would get a crick in the neck from laying weird. “I’m ready.”

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

Cass raises his brows at Jax, surprised by how ready he was and how okay he was with this whole situation.
"okay." he shrugs, rolling his shoulder a little bit. It's been a while since Cassius had to punch someone with the intention of knocking them out. But Cass was also a really big guy so he knew it would be easier than he was freaking out about.
He stands, now hovering over Jax "im so sorry" he says, balling his hand into a solid fist, and taking a breath before his fist lunges into the side of Jax's jaw without any recoil of his arm or shoulder. And hard. Hard enough to make his own hand sting afterwards but only a bit.
Half of him was afraid it wasn't enough to knock him out or he didn't get the right angle since Jax was laying down, but Cass hoped for the best with he opened his eyes and looked down to Jax. Though he hears Ophelia gasp in the doorway. Before he's able to assess what state Jax is in, he whips around to see his daughter, wide eyed. Her hands covered her mouth just after he gasped.
oh no…how am i going to explain this

@Elder-God-Jacks347

Frenchie raised an eyebrow at him. "A chance for a cure? And you're planning on finding it by yourselves? What even makes him qualified to find such a thing? And even if you do, how are you going to tell the zombies that were bitten from the ones who were already dead? And what are you going to do about the rest of them? Just kill them like you have been? Not to mention, it's only the two of you. How exactly do you plan on getting this cure to others, or even getting them to trust you enough to try? Most people don't stick around with their friends that have been bitten, they abandon them. A cure for those who have been bitten sounds great but look at the bigger picture. What's the damn point."

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Jax closed his eyes, waiting for the blow. He heard Cass apologize for what he was about to do, but nothing came. He opened his eyes, and just then…WHACK! A blow straight to the jaw. There was nothing at first, but then the pain shot up his face. Jax yelped in pain. He could have sworn he heard a crack. His vision went all wonky and started to fade. The room went from light beige to a fading gray. He wanted to throw up. He forgot how fatal and detrimental a blow to the jaw was. If he was lucky, swelling and bruising. Unlucky, he would have to have his mouth bandaged shut. Jax didn’t have the time to run through every scenario. The pain was everywhere, and he was starting to feel faint. He couldn’t help but pass out.

Sure, Cass hadn’t knocked him out on impact, but he still managed to go unconscious. The wound started to swell with the start of bruising. Jax thought his jaw was knocked out of place, but it was just the excruciating feeling. Why did he agree to this? Waking up will be awful. His whole body went limp and the only thing Cass had to worry about was the leg and the jaw.

@Celeste_X0X0_ group

(i love this XDDD)

Cass looks back and forth from Ophelia to Jax, his eyes wide when he (Jax) yelped, apologizing over and over again.
"YOU PUNCHED HIM!!" Fia exclaims loudly, seeming to be mad at her father.
His eyes stay on Jax, trying to figure out what to do frantically until he passes out.
He turns to Ophelia "I had to" he starts out, realizing that wasn't the best way to say that either.
"what?!" she basically shouts
He takes a deep breath "I did so he wouldn't feel the pain when i fix up his leg" he explains to her as calmly as he could "he was okay with it. Don't worry" he finishes
Fia walks up to now unconscious Jax. She looks at him, poking the tip of his nose "is he dead?" she asks
Cass watches as Fia touches him, holding his tongue. "no he fainted. It's like sleeping" he shrugs, using the small blade to cut a small incision in the wound where he needed to drain everything out before patching everything up.

After a good 15 minutes, Cass had finished all of the dirty work and was just now pulling his pant leg down over the bandages he had wrapped all around his leg. Fia had covered Jax in one of her blankets, or at least his top half. Though when she leaves, Cass removes it and folds it up, not wanting to worsen his fever with any heat. Though he didn't move the small stuffed animal she placed beside him. It was a poorly made cat she and Cass had been working on in their free time, as he was teaching her at a young age to crochet.
Once everything was done, he sets a glass of water beside the bed for Jax.
He peeks into his and Fia's room, where he found his daughter sitting on the bed near the window. Her forehead pressed against the cold glass as rain pattered hard against it, her knees pulled up to her chest.
He steps inside "hey baby. what up?" he asks her
She jumps at his voice, though not looking at him. She hugs her knees tighter. He decides it was fine to leave Jax alone. He was unconscious after all. So he to sits the bed beside her, facing his daughter.
She blinks, her eyes watery. His brows crease in worry as he tucks a curl of hair behind her small ear.
Cassius leans forward, giving the side of her head a kiss. "Did Jax's leg freak you out? Im gonna be honest it did me too" he says, looking at her and leaning on the window as well.
"I miss her" Fia says quietly.
His heart stops beating for a few second and he forgets to breath. It was random but nothing he wasn't used to. Cass takes her hand softly, her tiny hand wrapping around his fingers. "I miss her too Fia" he says quietly, looking out of the window with her.
The storm didn't show any signs of stopping any time soon and the rain only became harder as time went on. Fia had figured they wouldn't be able to go out today and check on the crops like he had said they would, but she didn't mind.
He knew if his wife were still with them, she would be out in the front yard dancing in the rain with the biggest smile on her face. He could remember the image just as if it were happening. Her curly hair sticking to the sides of her face and her skin pale from the cold rain. Every wet fold of clothing sticking to her body as she spun around with her arms out, the mud caking onto her shoes without a care in the world.
Cass would always ask her to come inside, as she was going to catch a cold and Fia always wanted to go out with her. But she always told him things like "just because the world is ending doesn't mean we can't have fun"
Cassius now looks to his daughter, now leaning into him and fidgeting with the hem of his sleeve. He wraps his arms around her and kisses the top of her head as they sit in silence.

@Anxietyfilledcinnamonroll group

Jax stirred, blinking his eyes open. Goddamn. My jaw hurts horribly…oh yeah, I asked Cass to knock me out. He made a mistake and touched his jaw. Pain shot throughout his face, and he almost screamed. He had to swallow the scream, gritting his teeth and letting out small whimpers. He looked down at his leg. Areas of it were still painful, but it felt better. Jax instinctively clung to the stuffed cat, but then he wondered where it came from. It was odd. His fever had gone down, but he still felt awful. Everything was cold, and the pitter of rain made him feel trapped in a cellar. Jacob made effort to call out, but the jaw pain was too much for him. He only hoped it was the swelling and not a broken jaw.

Jax curled himself into a ball, wishing he had someone in the room. Someone he could cry to. Someone he could hold hands with. But he had no one, and the loneliness ached throughout his body. He snuggled into the pillow, trying to avoid the painful half of his jaw. He’d rather go out the stand in the rain than stay stuffed in a room. I mean, that’s what he did every day it rained in this apocalypse. Jax watched the rainfall, rain dripping into his eyelashes, apologizing to the sky after yelling at it for taking everyone he loved. He shook off these thoughts. That was a long time ago, he’s changed. For the better or for the worst? He didn’t have time to question himself.

Jax could hear the whispers of conversation, but the rain drowned out all the words. He wasn’t interested in eavesdropping, so he ignored it. He held onto the poorly made cat, slipping under the quilt. He didn’t like the cold, but he didn’t like heat either. Jax liked the middle, a compromise of two choices. It took the weight of the choice off one’s shoulders. Maybe Cass did break my jaw. Or dislocated it. It kept popping when he tried to move it for communication.

@chickenfrogman group

Ryder gives an uncomfortable smile, having not expected her pessimistic comments or rude insinuations that Gabriel wasn’t part of the bigger picture. Frenchie didn’t seem to hang onto hope anymore- hope that some infected could be saved or that people could still work together to fight against this plague.
He rubs the back of his neck, “Gabriel is part of the bigger picture. They all are. The damn point is that the moment you give up on all of them or accept that there’s not a cure is the moment you lose. Who would you be saving then? Just yourself?” He makes eye contact with her, “that’s fine, to save yourself i mean. But it’s not enough for me I guess. I don’t want to just fight for my survival. I’d like them to make it to.” His voice fades out with the last sentence, as he started to overthink the words he was saying. That was really the way he felt, since it wasn’t worth fighting for survival to him if no one made it out with him. He looks back to the ground. “And David is a doctor of sorts. Before we met up, he was working together with other doctors and scientists, and he still has access to a lot of their studies. He says he’s close to hopefully figuring things out.”

@Elder-God-Jacks347

Frenchie wasn't convinced, her expression impassive. "What's the point of surviving when everyone's gone? Society has been given a reset but who's going to be here to rebuild it? Will we have the people, the motivation? Will it even be worth it? Save all the people you want, you're the one sacrificing yourself in the end."

Clovis holds in a gasp when Onyx quickly touches Ghabiun, not wanting to make any sharp noises and spook the dog.
Onyx, you’re gonna get yourself bitten.
Already aware that his dad wouldn’t approve of his quick movements or excitement, Onyx moves his left hand down the dogs neck as it licks his right hand. The coarse, wiry fur pokes into his calloused fingers as he runs his hand back up its neck, noting Ghabiun’s hard breath and body heat. Before the dog sneezes, he had already noticed his neck and body tensing, so the sneeze doesn’t startle him. A smile crosses his thick lips and he squints his eyes, giving a soft chuckle.
Still not a fan of the situation, Clovis gives a nervous smile. He looks back to Jesse, “Hm? I know a few. German, Russian, Arabic, Spanish…” He pauses, as if he’s thinking. “M-my French is rusty but I can still communicate.”

Ryder blinks.
What… The heck? He thinks to himself, a little lost. Did she not want to save anyone? Did she have no faith that they could rebuild?
“I- I feel like we’re a good ways away from rebuild, don’t you think? We should just focus on the issue at hand. Which right now is the whole virus, right? Just because they’re sick doesn’t mean we should count them as dead, right?” He gives a soft chuckle, serious conversations not really being his forte. But he was trying. “I’m not trying to convince you of anything, I’m just not about to leave my guy here behind.” He ruffles Gabriel’s hair. “I don’t see the point of surviving this if I can’t survive it with the people I care for. I don’t want to make it out by myself.”

"I watched the only friends I ever truly had murder each other in cold blood. I watched one get infected and kill three of the people that she loved more than she loved herself without a single ounce of hesitation. I was forced to take down the people I had looked up to and cared about for years because they all turned on me. Excuse me if I'm not exactly the most optimistic about the outcome of curing this virus." She spat the words like they tasted bad, leaving a sour taste in her mouth.

After a few minutes of them sitting together in silence, Fia's mind wanders elsewhere, not able to stay on one thing for long.
While Cass's mind was staying in one place for a little too long. Ophelia leans away and looks to Cass "when will Jax wake up?" she asks "will he turn into a zombie?"
He's pulled back into reality by his daughters sudden movement and her voice. "Hm? Oh.. uhm" he thought about what she had asked him just now, still a little out of it. "He should be waking up pretty soon. And no, he's not going to. He's alright. I just patched him up" he says
"like a doctor?" She asks, getting off of the bed. He does the same "sure. Like a doctor" he shrugs as Fia runs out of the room and towards the other room where Jax was. She knocks on it, waiting for a response. Even though Cass didn't think he was awake just yet, he waited with her for a response.

Jesse raises her brows, slightly impressed. Though other than that, she showed no other sign of that fact. "not bad" she shrugs, even though he knew plenty more languages than her. She turns back to look at her dog and Onyx. "I need to let him out for little bit. But he can come back inside when he is done." she says, stepping forward a little, giving Ghabiun a little more of the leash, letting him get closer to Onyx.
Ghabiun doesn't lurch forward but he does take a few steps rather quickly towards Onyx. Jesse tightens her grip, motioning for him to go outside. Though he stays put, covering Onyx's hand with dog slobber from licking his hand.

(The things Jax has been autocorrected to: Max, had, Jacob, and Ajax ;-;)

Jax heard the knock on the door, but was unable to answer. He tried his best with little noises, but he doubted it would convey the idea of “come in”. With both feet on the ground, he dragged himself out of bed. He winced as pain surged up his leg. He staggered to the door with a wobble, almost collapsing due to his lack of balance. He wrenched the doorknob open, revealing the two standing there. He looked terrible. The side of his jaw where he had been punched was swollen and bruised. He couldn’t move it without suffering excruciating agony. His hair was scrappy , and his eyes were clouded with anguish and out of focus. To relieve weight on his damaged leg, Jax leaned against the door frame. “Hi.” Through his teeth, he murmured. He seemed to regret allowing Cass to hit him. He stumbled back to the bed and sat on the side, sadly staring at Cass. Jax wasn’t able to speak.

(haha i feel that! My computer doesn't think Jax is a real word XD)

Cass and Ophelia heard the shuffling around in the room and knew he was awake. Cass reaches for the doorknob to open it, afraid Jax was going to try to open it himself.
Soon Cass's face was met with Jax's, grimacing at the bruise on his jaw and how miserable and pathetic Jax looked. Cass knew that if Jax wasn't immediately knocked out from his punch, his jaw wouldn't be broken but it did look slightly dislocated. It was an easy fix as a dislocated jaw wasn't a big deal. At least compared to what Cass normally worked with. So he wasn't too concerned about that. He still felt plenty bad though.
His brows crease, "Oh goodness" he sighs, stepping into the room when Jax makes his way to the bed, offering his hand or arm for stability.
"On the bright side, everything is done" he says. You could tell it almost pained him to say anything to Jax, the amount of guilt that had settled in his stomach was overwhelming.
Ophelia looks over to the stuffed cat on the bed, noticing it had moved. "do you like Lilly?" she asks "its my stuffed animal!" she says happily, not reading the room very well.
