"how did you burn it..? Is it a bad burn? How much does it hurt?" He moved to grab her burned hand to look at it, concern on his face, he then moved to pull out a cream from a bag around his hip and place it on the burn. "it'll sting a little bit, but it should help the burn heal." He smiled at her letting go of her hand, letting her get back to eating. He himself was wearing a sleeveless camp half blood shirt, he wondered if she had come from outside of camp. Well, of course she had but how long had she been without food or water? He looked around his eyes falling on Amelia but he immediately moved to look away, he didn't want to get caught looking at her. How the light from the camp fire made her look all the more beautiful.
Ava flinched as he put the cream on her burn. "thank you." she mumbled and looked up just as a black smoke appeared and covered them all Ava couldn't see but she reached out and grabbed hold of Wynn's arm to make shut that he was still there. The smoke disappeared and in it's place was a man Ava had never seen before. He started to talk but Ava was to busy panicking to listen, so instead she hid behind Wynn and did some deep breaths to calm down. After the man left, she turned to Wynn and asked "where am I? what kind of place has it so people can come and go by smoke?"
Amelia, like the rest of her cabin, had ducked under the table. Even with the realization that it was Hercules, they didn't come out from their spot. Gods could slip either way. Sometimes they were good, sometimes they weren't. Eyes wide, she slowly peaked out as the smoke disappeared once more, and Hercules with him. She gulped, her guys looking around, trying to find Wynn. In her panic, she seemed to skip over him. Her breathing sped up as she hyperventilated. Amelia wasn't good with these things. She wasn't made for this. She wasn't a fighter. Her flight or fight response was flight.
When the smoke initially poured into the room Wendi immediately recognized it for what it was, thick smokey Mist (different from the normal stuff around camp), and attempted to peer through leading her to see Hercules faster than some of the other campers (the only real exception being her half-siblings of course). Her hand reached for her daggers and in front of Dove in a protective manner and when Hercules ended up pointing in their direction her blood froze. No, not her, not right now. She slipped her daggers away and glanced at Dove, she really couldn't go right now.
Dove did not have any weapons on her, so when the smoke came she reflexively crossed her arms over her in a shielding motion. She heard a new voice boom into the hall, making her flinch before she moved to look up.
The man could only be a god. It was the only explanation for his grand entrance, the way he floated above the half-bloods as if gravity didn’t apply to him. The divinity, the power she sensed in the very fiber of his being. And he was pointing to her. Though it was only for a second, Dove felt fear shoot through her veins like electricity. She was only barely aware of the god’s words and Wendi’s moving hands.
And then, just like that, the god was gone. For a moment, Dove couldn’t speak. Then she met Wendi’s eyes.
“Wendi…” she found her voice. “Who— who was that?”
As soon as the black smoke appeared he pulled suffocation out of it's sheath and hot in a protective position Infront of ava, sword in front as he watched the smoke clear, he did not trust Hercules, not the way he had looked not the way how gods were always one side or the other, never the same.
His eyes scanned the crowd for Amelia as Hercules was talking to all them, come on Ames where are you he was so distracted by his search he didn't see who Hercules has ended up pointing at, he didn't realize that Hercules had initially pointed at him as if for a small second, but as soon as he vanished he put his sword away and turned back to Ava.
"Welcome to camp half blood." He sighed, moving to give her a headpat. "I need to get you to Chiron."
Chiron sighed as he looked down at Azriel. "That would be Hercules, young demigod. And he is sending some of my campers on a quest to find his sons. I don't particularly approve of this. Doesn't help we have no information really about this either." He clenched his jaw. "If my campers don't come back alive, Hercules being a god won't matter. He will pay for it."
He patted the young boy on the back. "Perhaps now isn't the best time to get you settled down. Just try helping out with the panic, and calming other people down."
Amelia couldn't breathe. She couldn't do this. She couldn't go on a quest. Some demigods were born for this, to go on quests and fight monsters and find stuff. She didn't. She stayed home. She took care of herself and did her camp activities. Just because she was trained to fight didn't mean she could actually do it once she was in the position. Amelia had felt like her heart had dropped when the god had pointed at her. She could feel people around her but didn't register any of it.
"I, Heracles I think," Wendi hesitantly responded her mouth dry. This wasn't the time to go on a quest if only the dam god could have waited a week or two longer. She looked at the map in the center of the mess hall, "And I think we've just been chosen for a quest."
She took a second to glance around the mess hall as she remembered campers other than her get chosen, "Did, did you catch you else was chosen? I was, uh, a bit focused on other things."

"You did't answer any of my questions." Ava accused as Wynn patted her head. "And who is Chiron?" She looked around at all of the other people, her eyes lingering on a table of people who were all hiding under it before retuning her eyes to Wynn. "Will this Chiron guy answer my questions?" she asked staring intently at his eyes trying to find anything that might help her calm down, even if it's just a little bit.

“Heracles?” Being a nerd, Dove was familiar with Greek myth to some extent, but it was a whole different story when it came to seeing the gods with her own two eyes.. “Really?” Her voice was a little shaky now. “I forgot he had sons.”
She glanced at the map, then shook her head slowly. “Um, I was also focused on other things, sorry.” She looked up, trying to see if there was anyone who looked like they’d been chosen. One of the Aphrodite kids looked like she was having the same reaction to this as she and Wendi. “Um, maybe her?” She pointed to the Aphrodite girl.
"Probably, should we go ask?" Wendi asked as she began to move slowly towards the map. She could feel each of her joints unlocking from their position so she could move more easily. She would probably be more shocked if she had never seen this sort of thing, but she had been around long enough that this wasn't her first time seeing a god. Oh gods, what if she ended up being the most experienced person on this quest. She really hoped that wasn't true.
His eyes continued to search the crowd until he spotted Amelia, looking panicked. He itched to go to her and comfort her, he looked back down at Ava.
"yes, he can answer all your questions, I promise. Your special, just remember that." He pointed to where Chiron was, "That man over there, with the horse lower body on him. I need you to go talk to him okay? I have to go help calm down campers. I'm really sorry."
He moves to walk her half of the way, before taking off over to Amelia. He didn't care if anyone saw him with the Aphrodite kids, she looked scared and he had to help her. It hurt his heart to see her that way. He moved over to her and kneeled down Infront of her, putting a hand on her shoulder.
"Amelia, Breathe." He spoke soft, and calming.
Amelia flinched back as a hand touched her. She looked up and saw Wynn. She shook slightly. "I-I can't do this Wynn. I'm not-I can't-" She couldn't finish her sentence. Her shoulder hunched as she curled into herself. A single tear left her eye and fell down her cheek. She stared at Wynn, chewing on her lip.
He looked at her, smiling warmly at her but his eyes held his concern and his worry. He was so worried…he didn't know who had been picked, but he had a feeling he was one of the people picked, he felt Hercules gaze on him for a few seconds. He pulled Amelia into a hug, rubbing her back.
"Hey hey…it's okay, your okay. Just breathe okay? I think..I'm going as well. We'll deal with this together okay?"
He continued to speak with a soft and comforting voice, holding her close gently.
Ashby had finished most of what was on their plate and rushed to the fire to spill some food into it. "Thanks for… being gods?" They sighed "I never know what to say" they began to leave the mess hall, heading to the campfire, which they assume had started already. They never really participated, but they did like to watch the fire. One last time, they looked back at Adin and smiled.
Adin had looked over and saw Ashby, waving back at her with a grin before moving to pick up his food and give the rest of it to the fire as he put his tray away, and moved to sit by the campfire. He sat somewhere with an empty seat on one side of him and a Hermes kid on the other.
Ashby saw where Adin had sat down and mustered up all their courage. They weren't very good with socializing, like, at all, but this was their first friend, so they at least had to make an effort. They walked over to the empty space next to Adin and sat down. "Hey" they said, with nothing to follow it. Since they had nothing else to say, they just sat and waited for a response. Because of this, they saw the fire in the corner facing them turning a lime yellow. This made them even more anxious, which in turn made the fire more yellow, until finally, they followed up. "Um, do-" at this, the smoke came, and then the screaming. Their hand went to grip Adin's arm as they looked him in the eyes, eyes wide with terror "We should probably head there. Looks important."
Amelia melted into his arms. She tucked her head into his neck and tried to focus on her breathing. She nodded her head and listen to him, letting him give her false words of hope and comfort. She was too out of it to recognize her siblings staring and whispering around her. She didn't particularly care either. She slid her arms around Wynn. "What are we gonna do?" She whispered as her heart began to slow down its beating.
“I don’t know, maybe Chiron will call us all up or something anyway.”
After just watching Wendi move towards the map, Dove realized she should probably follow. She forced her legs to take her to up by her friend’s side. At this point, she was kind of following Wendi’s lead, being the more inexperienced of the two and having only two years at camp under her belt.
"um…ok then." Ava said to herself as she started toward the man who was half a horse. she stoped half way there and closed her eyes. one, two, three. she thought as she breathed. this is no time for a brake down. She oped her eyes again and continued toward Chiron. when she reached him, the first thing she said was; "I don't know where i am, who that was, what is happening, but I am staying with Wynn no matter what you say." She then sat down on the nearest char and waited for answers.
Chiron looked down at the little girl that had approached him. She couldn't even be 10 years old. Two new campers in one day. That was new. Usually, it was just one camper at a time. He raised his eyebrow at her. "I'm sorry but you are not going on this quest. We don't allow campers as young as you to go on something so dangerous. You are staying here. I promise Wynn will come back in one piece from this quest. I'll even let you have contact with him. But you are not going. You'll be a liabitly. You'll put them at risk. You will stay here, start your training and lessons."
Wendi reached out and took her friends hand as she made her way towards the map reaching down to pick it up from where it laid on the floor. She glanced around trying to see if anyone else was as shaken up and approached the girl and boy pair near the Aphrodite table, map in hand, "Um, hi there."
Amelia pulled away from wynn just enough to look up at the girls that had approached them. She stayed in Wynn's arms, taking in as much comfort from him as possible. She swallowed loudly. She raised a hand and gave a little wave. "H-hi, Wendi right?" Amelia knew almost everyone's name at camp. She liked to keep tabs on everyone as best she could. "You were chosen too?" She asked.
He just held her close, one hand around her and one hand gently on her head holding it gently. He just wanted to keep her safe from everything, from this quest and from anything else that could possibly harm her. He let out a soft sigh, moving to rub her back gently and soothingly, holding her as close as he could in a protective embrace.
"I guess..we will have to see if anyone else is coming…and who, and then..go from there. Talk to chiron. I promise everything will be okay Ames."
He then heard Wendi behind them, and turned to see someone he assumed was from the Hecate cabin, and dove from earlier. He noticed the map in her hands, "Thats…" He muttered, before listening to Amelia, of course she knows there name.
"so I guess it's the four of us then..? Unless someone else?.."
"Um, yeah," Wendi responded. She hadn't expected the girl to know her name. She gestured to Dove who was with her, "And this is Dove. Sorry, I don't exactly know who you two are, mind telling us you're names?"
While Amelia was usually a social butterfly, in this instance, she was the opposite. Placing her head back on Wynn's shoulder, she let him do the talking. She kept her gaze up at the two girls, watching them. She picked at her nails, an old habit she had quite long ago.
