Ooo, this looks cool!
If you have time, can you by boi Jedrek?
Sure can! I pair Jedrek with Prince Sadon. Sadon has pale white skin, bright green eyes, and short dirty blonde hair. He's quiet and gentle and doesn't like to fight, but will if he has to. He tends to think before he acts, and while that is good in some cases, it can cause him to hesitate.
I imagine they meet while Jedrek is still traveling…
Jedrek shivered and pulled his cloak tighter around him as the snow and wind whipped his hair behind him. The White Mountains were no place to be in the winter and he knew that, but he thought he could make it before the storm hit.
He had been wrong.
He pressed on, reminding himself why he was doing this. It was for Cloa, all of this was for Cloa. He had to return to her, so he couldn't give up now, he couldn't collapse.
But that was getting harder to do by the second.
Jendrek paused for a moment to take in his surroundings. The only thing that could offer him some sort of shelter was a large rock with a small space underneath it. Jendrek gritted his teeth and forced himself to make it over to the rock, where he promptly collapsed, shivering.
He stayed there until the blizzard ended, leaving a clear full moon shining on the fresh snow. Unfortunately, the boy couldn't enjoy it. He was hungry and cold and exhausted and was nearly out of food. Everything was going downhill.
That is, until he heard the whinny of a horse. He snapped his head up at the sound. It sounded fairly close.
"Hello?" he called out, standing up in his tiny rock shelter. "Hey! Is anyone there?"
His voice echoed off the mountains and it took a moment before he got an answer in the form of a large chestnut-brown horse coming into view. The horse skidded to a stop on the snow and the rider hopped off.
"Hey, are you okay?" they asked. Their face was shielded almost entirely with clothes, leaving just their eyes visible. Jendrek glanced between them and the horse.
"I'm sorry, I got lost out here during the storm…do you think you could help me?" he asked. The stranger nodded.
"Of course." They went back to their horse and swung up into the saddle before reaching a hand down to Jendrek. "Hop on."
Jendrek took their gloved hand and hoisted himself onto the chestnut behind his rescuer. He had just barely got on when the person took up the reigns and nudged the horse's side. They took off across the mountain, the horse kicking up snow as they went.
"My name's Sadon," the person said as they traveled over the ridge and down the mountain.
"I'm Jendrek."
"What were you doing out here in a blizzard, Jendrek?"
Jendrek wrapped his cloak around himself again. "Trying to make it over the mountains. I thought I could make it before the storm." They rode on in silence for a moment before he spoke again. "And you? Why are you out here?"
"Oh…I was looking for someone," Sadon answered. His voice made it clear he didn't want to talk about it further, so Jendrek didn't press. "Can I drop you off at the foot of the mountain?"
Jendrek sighed. It would take him twice as much time to get back up here with all of the fresh snow…but it was better than being stuck up here. At least there was a village at the foot of the mountain that he could restock on clothes and food at. He gave Sadon a reluctant nod.
"Perfect." And they did. Sadon stopped the horse and dropped Jendrek off outside a small inn. "Good luck, Jendrek. I hope you get to where you're going."
"Thanks…I hope you find who you're looking for."
Sadon pulled his scarf down for a quick moment to give Jendrek a smile before he pulled it back up. "C'mon, Janshai," he murmured to the horse. They disappeared back up the mountain and Jendrek was left alone again.
