"Mm… love you, too." Melissa hummed, lacing her fingers with his. "Well, now I don't really feel like doing anything. Can we just go back home?"
"Mm… love you, too." Melissa hummed, lacing her fingers with his. "Well, now I don't really feel like doing anything. Can we just go back home?"
"Sure, Mel." Lucas laughed softly and turned around. "Let's head on back home then, darling."
Melissa gave him a tired smile, letting him lead her back the way they came. "Sorry…"
Lucas kissed Melissa's cheek and kept leading her along. "Don't worry about it."
Melissa nodded, trailing behind him. She kept a tight hold to his hand as they walked. "Do we need to eat when we get back..?"
"Probably, yeah." Lucas yawned a bit, humming softly to himself. "It's been a while since we ate anything."
"Yeah…" Melissa nodded a little. "What are we gonna have for lunch? And should I make it?"
"Mm… I can probably make it, depending on what it is." Lucas shrugged. "Or we could get something out."
"I don't really care, I just didn't know what you were feeling." Melissa shrugged, resting her head on his shoulder. "And we did just go out yesterday."
"True. Uhm… I know how to make sandwiches, and… uhm… grilled cheese? And… scrambled eggs…"
"I don't mind making food, Lu." Melissa insisted, kissing his cheek. "We can figure it out when we get back, too."
"Mmkay." Lucas returned the kiss. "Maybe I can try and help you make it?" He asked.
"Mm… sure. I'm fine with that." Melissa nodded, nuzzling up against him. "Whatever you wanna do."
Lucas nodded a bit as well and held tighter to Melissa's hand. "Love you, Mel…"
Melissa smiled a little, kissing his shoulder. "Love you too, darling." She whispered, sighing contently.
Lucas wrapped one arm around Melissa's shoulders and held her close, humming contentedly to himself.
Melissa smiled softly, looking up at him. She reached up and held onto his hand, leaning into him.
Soon, they arrived back at home and Lucas led Melissa inside. "Here we are, love."
Melissa gave him a weak smile, yawning a little. "Mm, love you…" She whispered, snuggling up closer in his arms.
"Love you too… what do you wanna make?" Lucas asked softly.
"Mmm… I don't really care." Melissa shrugged, pulling him close. "Something easy…"
Lucas nodded a bit and pulled Melissa into the kitchen. "Alright… um… we could try chicken nuggets again?"
"Mm, we'll just make sure not to fall asleep again." Melissa smiled softly, still not letting go of him.
"Yeah." Lucas laughed weakly. "Can you grab the package?" He asked as he turned on the oven.
"But that means I have to let gooo…" Melissa pouted, sighing softly. Reluctantly she let go of him before pulling the chicken nuggets from the freezer.
"I knowwww…" Lucas stretched a bit and sighed. "Hopefully these won't take too long…"
Melissa nodded, wrapping her arms around him from behind when the tray had been put in the oven. "They shouldn't. We should be fine."
"Mhmm. What do you wanna do while we wait for them to be done?" He asked.
"Cuddle…" Melissa mumbled, burying her face into his shoulder. "But you probably don't want to with food in the oven…"
"Yeah…" Lucas sighed. "Don't wanna risk falling asleep again. We can just hang out in here for a bit, I guess?"
