Melissa kept up a smile, taking his other hand and pulling it up. Kissing it softly, she relaxed back against him. "Mm, I definitely hope so."
Melissa kept up a smile, taking his other hand and pulling it up. Kissing it softly, she relaxed back against him. "Mm, I definitely hope so."
"Mhmm." Lucas rested his head on Melissa's shoulder and looked up at her with a gentle smile. "You look stunning, darling."
"I- what?" Melissa asked softly, her face growing a soft pink. She really didn't know how to take his compliment, taken by surprise at the randomness of it.
Lucas grinned and gently poked Melissa's cheek. "I said you're stunning, Melissa. I know I stutter pretty often, but I don't think I did that time."
Melissa’s face flushed harder, and she started biting into her lip. “No… you- you didn’t…” She agreed softly, glancing away from him.
Lucas leaned up to kiss Melissa softly, still grinning. "Do you like the compliments or should I stop?"
"I… honestly don't know…" Melissa admitted with a soft sigh, trying to relax. "I really wasn't expecting it…"
"Sorry. I guess you know how I feel when you give me any compliment of any degree?" Lucas said weakly, laughing a bit.
Melissa felt a little smile pull up, sinking down before curling up close. "I guess so… though, you really think I'm that pretty?"
"Of course I do, Mel. Your know how bad of a liar I am." Lucas smiled softly and huddled closer to Melissa.
"Or maybe you're a really good liar, pretending to be a bad one." Melissa suggested, scooting closer to cuddle up next to him.
Lucas laughed a bit. "I guess that's possible, but I doubt it's the case. At least not with me, anyway."
"Mm, probably… you don't seem like the kind of guy to have a double life." Melissa shrugged a bit, wrapping her arms around him.
"Mhmm…" Lucas pulled Melissa close and smiled softly. "I love you~…" He crooned, his voice soft and gentle.
Nuzzling into his shoulder, she couldn’t keep from grinning. “I love you too… so, so much.” Melissa mumbled, leaning in to his hold.
Lucas kissed Melissa softly, humming contentedly to himself. "I wish I could just stay here forever with you."
Melissa lifted her head, giving him a little smile. "I'd be alright with that." She hummed, gently kicking her legs over his lap.
"We would die, though. Food, remember?" Lucas smiled gently as well. "But I guess if we didn't need basic things to survive, it would be fun."
"Mm, delivery, remember?" Melissa laughed softly, studying his face. "I know it didn't work for ice cream, but I'm sure that someone could find us."
Lucas laughed a bit. "We'd run out of money, and our phones would run out of battery. And I'm sure we'd worry a lot of people by suddenly disappearing."
"Mm, like who? Besides my dad, and Cody." Melissa asked him softly, nuzzling up into his side. "Name at least two other people, and I'll leave with you, without complaining. When the time comes, of course."
"The entire school, probably. They don't like it when people disappear. And Laura, and all the guys on the baseball team."
"I doubt the entire school would care…" Melissa tried to insist, glancing up to him. "But fine… I guess I'm not allowed to protest."
"I mean like, the school board. The teachers and such. But either way, people would at least notice our absence."
"But I doubt everyone would care too badly. I mean, it's only two students." Melissa mumbled, resting her chin on his shoulder.
"But still. Two students mysteriously disappearing is a pretty big deal." Lucas shrugged and kissed Melissa's cheek.
“Mm… yeah…” Melissa huffed a bit, starting to play with her own hair. “I guess we really can’t stay forever…”
"Unfortunately, no. As fun as it would be, it's not exactly plausible." Lucas smiled gently as he watched Melissa.
“Life sucks. We can’t disappear from existence because people care, but when I’m around them, it feels like nobody could care less.” Melissa muttered, pouting a bit. “Not all the time, but sometimes.”
"I care about you, Mel… so much." Lucas pulled Melissa closer to himself and hugged her tightly. "I know how that feels, but it's not true. People do care."
