"It's not going to stay, though… this is why I want to cut it so badly." Melissa mumbled, attempting to pull her up in a bun.

"But it's pretty~" Lucas whined, toying with a lock of Melissa's hair. "It looks nice on you. Don't you think?"

"Mm, I'm honestly so tired of it, I don't think it's pretty anymore. But my mom would never let me get it cut as short as I want to. She would flip out if I even mentioned it." Melissa shrugged a bit, leaning up against the tree to try and keep her hair up.

"Mm…" Lucas let go of Melissa's hair and sighed. "Well, I think it looks nice, but I can't control what you do with your hair."

Melissa glanced over to him, and sighed in return. "It's just so hot, and frustrating. I shouldn't cut it though- I know I'll regret it as soon as I do it. I can literally feel the regret."

Lucas smiled softly, holding onto Melissa's hand. "Maybe just get it trimmed? Or maybe an undercut? I've heard that those are cooler."

"Mm, maybe. I'll have to look into it." Melissa hummed softly, lacing their fingers together with a smile. "Though it's not like I'm going to get it cut right now."

Lucas nodded a bit. "Yeah… I don't have to worry about mine as much. It's kinda long for guy hair, but you know… it's not long in the back, just the front."

"Mhmm… I don't think I could pull it off, but having hair like you would be so nice. No where near as hot." Melissa hummed lightly, reaching up to play with his hair.

Lucas flushed a bit. "I-I'm not hot…" He stammered, leaning into Melissa's hand. "But… um… thanks anyway."

Melissa gave him an odd look, before realizing what she had said. "I meant temperature wise. But I mean, I think you're pretty hot in your uniform."

Lucas flushed harder and looked away, his heart pounding. "R-Right, um… sorry." He laughed nervously.

Melissa laughed softly, leaning over and kissing his shoulder. "You don't have to apologize. It was an honest mistake."

Lucas nodded, holding tightly to Melissa's hand. "Mhmm… I love you, Mel." He said softly as he returned the kiss.

Smiling lightly, she gently nuzzled against him. "I love you too, Lu. I'm quite lucky to have you." Melissa whispered before dropping her head on his shoulder.

"I'm luckier to have you, darling." Lucas pulled Melissa close and looked up at Cody again, smiling gently.

"Mm, whatever." Melissa laughed softly, curling up closer despite the heat outside. "He's so cute."

"Mhmm." Lucas watched Cody run around and paw curiously at things, his tail wagging all the while. "He really is."

Melissa kept up a soft smile, resting her head against Lucas with a light sigh. "Mmm… this is really nice. I'm not sure I want to get up."

Lucas nodded a bit. "We'll have to get up at some point though, love." He gently kissed Melissa's cheek.

"But you're cuddly… even if it is hot out." Melissa mumbled, only scooting closer in protest. "I'm happy, Cody is happy, and I think you're happy. Why would we need to leave."

"Because we'd starve. Also, we can't get ice cream if we stay here forever." Lucas smiled softly and held Melissa close.

"Says who? I'm sure there's some way they would deliver." Melissa insisted, wrapping her arms around his waist.

"'Hey, can you deliver ice cream to some random clearing in the forest that almost no one knows exists?'" Lucas laughed.

"It's full-proof. I don't understand why you don't seem to believe me." Melissa smiled lightly, nuzzling into him. "There's also the dad delivery system."

"He doesn't know where this place is either." Lucas rested his head on Melissa's, smiling gently as well.

"Mm, I'm sure he could find us. Eventually at least." Melissa hummed, kissing him softly. "I know, we don't want him wandering around the woods aimlessly. But still… it's nice here."

"It definitely is." Lucas returned the kiss and rested his head on Melissa's shoulder. "I'm glad I found it. I love you~"

"Mm, I am too…" Melissa whispered, resting her head against his. "And I love you, too. You're a spectacular guy."

Lucas flushed again, still smiling. "And you're pretty nifty if I do say so myself." He nuzzled against Melissa's cheek.
