Melissa took it with a light smile, pecking his cheek. "Looks like it. I'm sure he'll be just as great as you."
Melissa took it with a light smile, pecking his cheek. "Looks like it. I'm sure he'll be just as great as you."
"Probably wouldn't be too good of a batter, though." Lucas returned the kiss and picked up Cody, smiling gently.
"Mm, probably not. Maybe an outfielder. He's good at catching things." Melissa smiled, scratching under Cody's chin.
"Mhmm." Lucas scratched behind Cody's ears, smiling softly. Cody wagged his tail, clearly enjoying the attention.
Melissa smiled softly, kissing the top of Cody's head before kissing Lucas. "Both my boys are so cute. I'm lucky to have both of you."
Lucas flushed a bit, but kept smiling and returned the kiss. "You're cuter." He insisted, booping Melissa on the nose with one finger.
Scrunching up her nose, Melissa gave him a bubbly smile. "Maybe, but not cuter than you both together." She hummed a bit, taking his hand and leading him on.
"Mmm. Debatable." Lucas kissed Melissa again. "But I don't feel like arguing. Ice cream?" He asked, looking over at her as they walked.
"Shouldn't we wait a little while? We just ate breakfast, and it's kinda early." Melissa hummed softly, glancing back to him. "I thought we could go to the clearing, first."
"Sure, that sounds good to me." Lucas smiled softly and started leading Melissa towards the park. "It shouldn't take long to get there."
"You'd know best. I'm sure you went there after school, more than I have." Melissa hummed, happily following along. She had the baseball in her hand, and water bottle tucked under her arm as they walked.
"True." Lucas let Cody walk on his own so that he could open his water bottle and take a swig of it. It was steadily getting hotter as the sun rose.
"It'll be nice under the shade. Assuming we go to the clearing, that is." Melissa noted softly, trying to pick up her pace to walk next to him.
"Yeah, probably." Lucas drank a bit more water before closing the bottle and continuing on. "We're pretty close now."
Melissa smiled a bit, while nodding. "I thought so, the surrounding looked familiar." She chirped before leaning lightly against him.
Lucas nodded and continued on quietly, soon going into the park and leading Melissa and Cody through the forest towards the clearing.
Melissa smiled contently, burying her face into his shoulder with a sigh. “Mm, love you.”
"Love you too, Mel." Lucas gently kissed Melissa and continued on, lifting Cody over logs that he couldn't get over by himself.
Melissa hummed lightly, keeping fingers loosely intertwined with his. "You're honestly the best."
"Why's that?" Lucas asked, smiling gently as he made his way into the clearing. Cody sniffed around as he explored.
"Do I need a specific reason? I just think you're spectacular." Melissa hummed softly, nosing against him with a bright grin.
Lucas flushed lightly and kissed Melissa again. "I think you're better." He flopped down beside the Willow and allowed Cody to explore.
"You can think what you want. I say you're better." Melissa hummed, dropping down next to him with a smile. "I doubt you can change my mind."
Lucas sighed and shook his head incredulously, still smiling. "Whatever you say, darling." He turned his attention to Cody running around.
Melissa hummed a bit, lightly tossing the ball back and forth in her hands. "Mm, I forgot to grab a pen." She mumbled to herself, running her thumb over the stitches.
"We can grab one when we get back home. It's not a big deal." Lucas smiled softly and drank some more of his water.
"True. I just don't want to forget." Melissa shrugged a bit, dropping the ball in her lap before picking up her own water bottle.
Lucas shrugged as well, continuing to watch Cody to make sure he didn't run off. "He seems to be having fun."
"He sure looks like it." Melissa smiled lightly, pulling her hair up out of his face. "Uhggg, my hair is so thick…"
"You can tie it up, maybe?" Lucas suggested. "I dunno. Mine isn't really very heavy. I don't know if it's thick or not…"
