Melissa quickly ducked into the kitchen, picking up the glass she had poured her own smoothie into earlier. Grabbing a straw, she dropped it in and watched it sink as she came back a couple seconds later.
Melissa quickly ducked into the kitchen, picking up the glass she had poured her own smoothie into earlier. Grabbing a straw, she dropped it in and watched it sink as she came back a couple seconds later.
When Melissa returned, Lucas carefully shifted Cody over to her lap. "How do you like it?" He asked. "The smoothie, that is."
Melissa took a sip, and smiled over to him. "Not bad, actually." She hummed a little, sitting down next to him.
Lucas smiled gently and kissed Melissa's cheek. "That's good to hear… I love you, Mel." He murmured.
"Mm, I love you too." Melissa told him softly, still sipping from the straw with a little smile. "You wanna do something tonight, before bed?"
"Like what?" Lucas asked curiously, gently petting Cody with a soft smile. "Do you have anything in mind?"
"Not really, but we haven't really done much together-together. I know we've gone to the park and stuff, but I feel like we should do something else." Melissa shrugged, after rambling on a bit.
"I guess so… um… I'm happy to do whatever you want to go and do, Mel. I really don't mind." Lucas smiled softly.
"I mean, we don't have to do anything. Though I'd like to try and go out with you sometime soon." Melissa smiled a little in return, curling up close.
Lucas nodded and held Melissa close. "Well, I'm sure that can be arranged. I'll think of something at some point."
"You don't have to, I can always try and set things up. It might just be a little on the simpler side, considering I'm still looking for a job." Melissa offered, shrugging just a little.
"I know, but I wanna do something for you. I'll just have to figure out what." Lucas shrugged as well.
"Well, I mean, my birthday is in a month or so~" Melissa trilled a little, glancing over to him innocently. "You could wait and do something then."
"True." Lucas kissed Melissa softly. "Is there anything in particular that you think you'd like to do, Mel?"
"Not really. I'm happy with whatever, really." Melissa hummed softly, setting her half drank smoothie down on the coffee table.
"Well, do you have any ballpark ideas you can give me?" Lucas asked, laughing a bit. "I want to make sure you have a good time on your birthday."
Melissa laughed a little, leaning over to peck his cheek. "I mean, I don't have anything right now. But if I think of something, I can let you know. Besides maybe going for a walk around the neighborhood to see the lights, I don't know if I have anything I want to do."
"Alright, Mel. Just let me know if you get any good ideas." Lucas returned the kiss and rested his head against Melissa's.
"I can do that," Melissa smiled, curling up closer. Absentmindedly, she started to stroke Cody's fur once she was comfortable next to Lucas.
Lucas pet Cody as well, smiling gently. He was feeling mostly better now that he was hydrated, but he was still a little unsteady.
Melissa smiled a little bit more, lacing their fingers together and gently squeezed his hand. "Mm… love you…"
"I love you too, Mel…" Lucas gently kissed Melissa and held her close, smiling as well. "More than I could ever say."
"I'm sure you've shown it to me through actions. I know you really do love me." Melissa told him softly, resting her head against him.
Lucas nodded, closing his eyes and relaxing. "And I always will… I want to try my best to make you happy."
(Time skip?)
(Sure thing! Any idea when/where to? Possibly Friday?)
(Sure, that's fine :> to the game?)
(Works for me!)
Melissa smiled brightly as she made her way to an open seat on the bleachers. She was by herself currently, glancing around to try and find where Lucas was after finding an empty space to sit. Though she wasn't having much luck scanning over the faces of the players down on the field.
Lucas looked up and waved to Melissa when he noticed her in the bleachers before getting into position. He'd made sure that he was well hydrated and had eaten before this, so he was at a much lower risk of passing out. His team was pitching first.
Melissa caught sight of Lucas, and smiled even more. Waving in return, she settled herself on the bleachers, excitedly glancing around the field. She had picked out which were the players for their school, and which were the other school after a couple of seconds.
After a while, it was finally Lucas's turn to bat. He got into position and readied himself, his heart pounding in his throat. As soon as the ball connected with his bat with a loud 'CLANG', he dropped his bat and bolted, passing first and second base before sliding into third.
