@gracehustle

(Finally got home from work, It was a long day..sorry)
Soren didn't talk much on the drive to the skating rink, but the music made it peaceful and not an awkward drive. "Here we are," He said happily when he finally pulled the car into the parking lot near the rink, a light smile on his face, "Ready to go?" Quickly, he stepped out of his car and made his way to her side again, opening the door easily for her.

@ShadeStar

(It's fine!)

Rowan smiled and nodded as she almost bounced out of the car. She was excited to go skating, since she hadn't done it for a long time. She reached for Soren's arm after she signed, "More than ready! Have you ever been ice skating before Magic boy?"

@gracehustle

"I've gone twice..I think. Both times were when I was pretty young," Soren replied, a gentle smile on his face as she reached for his arm. He held it out for her, a nervous but excited look on his face, "What about you magic girl? Do you go ice skating a lot?" As soon as she was out of the car, he closed the door behind her, then started to lead the was up to the small building where skates could be rented as well as where the rink was.

@ShadeStar

"I do a lot when it's winter, especially when I was younger," Rown signed to him as she kept up with Soren on the way to the rink. SHe paused for a moment with her hands having wrapped her arm around his so she could still sign to him, "Though it's been a few years since I've gone."

@gracehustle

He nodded, clearly watching what she was saying with interest, "Well, I'll request in advance that you don't hide how funny me falling multiple times is going to be. It's funny, especially since I'm a grown man and I'm still not the best with ice skates." Soren chuckled, opening the door to the building when they reached it but not pulling his arm away from her.

@ShadeStar

"I'll try not to," Rowan signed with a big smile on as she walked into the building keeping close to him. She was close to bouncing with how excited she was for this and then being with Soren only seemed to make it harder to resist, "But it can be difficult when your mute you know?"

@gracehustle

"True," He replied, smiling gently and leading the way to the small counter inside the building where they could rent skates. There was a teenage boy standing behind the counter, who only perked up when he saw the two of them walk into the mostly empty building.

@ShadeStar

Rowan had a big smile on as she stepped into the room. She reached to grab her purse so she could pay for her own skates before hesitatin wondering if Soren wanted to pay for the skate rent. Or maybe they were free, "Do you want me to pay for the skates?"

@gracehustle

"No, I'll pay," He quickly replied, smiling at her. Soren turned to the boy behind the counter, asking for a pair in his size before turning back to her and letting his smile grow. Already he was excited to try ice skating again, and they weren't even near the rink yet. Even though he hadn't skated in years, he had a good feeling that he wasn't going to make a complete fool of himself.

@ShadeStar

"Fine with me!" Rowan signed before taking out her notebook. She took a moment to write and slipped her size to the person behind the counter since finger numbers can be misleading at times. She had a big smile on and bounced a little as she watched the boy get there skates, "I'm really excited about this."

@gracehustle

(Crap I thought I replied I'm so sorry >_<)
Soren nodded eagerly, his smile not diminishing at all, "I'm really excited too, this is going to be fun." He watched as the boy got their skates, and said a quick thank you before holding out money to pay for renting the skates. As soon as he had that done, he took his pair and handed Rowan hers, still smiling.

@ShadeStar

(It's fine!)

Rowan took the skates in her hands and beamed up at him. Since her hands were full she couldn't sign back to him but instead reached for him with her almost free hand and began walking over to a bench so they could put their skates on.

@gracehustle

Easily, Soren took Rowan's hand, feeling his cheeks flush barely as they walked to the the nearby bench. He waited until she had sat down before sitting down as well, and soon he was starting the process of loosening up the skates and trying to get them on. It may have been slightly confusing to deal with the long laces, but he didn't stop smiling, just glanced over at her and said, "This has to be my least favorite part of ice skating."

@ShadeStar

Rowan was methodically lacing up her own skates after sitting down next to him. The movements were somewhat fluid since Rowan was used to lacing up boots with similiar laces. She glanced up when she heard him speak and gave him a big smile, "Yeah, but it's kind of easy to do so."

@gracehustle

He nodded in return, smiling even as he continued to slowly figure out how the laces were meant to be laced up. Soon enough he had his figures out though, and a bright smile was on his face as he looked over at Rowan. Once they were both ready they could head out to the rink, but he didn’t want to rush her at all.

@ShadeStar

Rowan finished tying up her skates moments before Soren did. She gave him a happy grin before pushing herself up off the bench and took a moment to regain her balance before signing to him, "Ready to go?"

@gracehustle

"Ready than I'll ever be," He signed back roughly, taking his time to try to remember exactally how to sign it out. Soren stood up as well, then motioned to a door labeled 'Rink'. It lead to a hockey rink, inclosed in the building and freezing cold. There were plenty of other people that weren't playing hockey skating on the rink, and he was happy to lead Rowan to the door so she could go through first.

@ShadeStar

Rowan felt her smile grow seeing Soren sign back to her. She walked along with him relearning how to balance on her skates, which shockingly didn't take very long. Once at the door she looked over to Soren before stepping onto the ice and then waited for Soren to get on the ice.

@gracehustle

He followed her onto the ice moments later, wobbly on solid ground but already a little more stable on the cold ice, "Ready to skate?" Soren had a tight hold on the wall, but he held out an arm for Rowan just to be polite, almost positive that he would fall over if he let go of the wall.

@ShadeStar

Rowan watched him with a smile before taking his arm. She jsut hoped that he wouldn't drag her down with him when he eventually fell. She gave a happy nod as she began to push along, "Yep!"

@gracehustle

Soren smiled, reluctantly letting go from the wall as Rowan pushed off. He was quite shakey on his skates, but he focused on staying up and not pulling her down with him. That was the last thing he wanted to do.

@ShadeStar

Rowan stayed steady quite easily and kept at a slow pace as they moved away from the wall. She kept an eye on Soren ready to push away if he seemed like he was about to fall, or she could go down with him.

@gracehustle

(All good)
Soren took a minute to get used to the skates, and when he finally looked over at her again, he was grinning like a child. He hasn’t fallen down yet, though as he grew more confident in his abilities, he didn’t pay attention as much. And almost comically, he fell. Right on his butt. The only thing he did right was let go of Rowan’s arm before he took her with him.
