Rowan pointed to the middle in response to his question. It made more sense to her and the game more fun overall. She reached for the dice since he hadn't rolled doubles, "Called it, kind of."
Rowan pointed to the middle in response to his question. It made more sense to her and the game more fun overall. She reached for the dice since he hadn't rolled doubles, "Called it, kind of."
Soren set the money in the center and scowled at the dice one more time, even though it was clear he was just surprised at the coincidence of it happening. He sat back after a moment though, watching her and waiting to see what she would roll.
Rowan rolled the dice and ended up one shy of the luxury tax. She let out a sigh of relief as she gave him a little shrug and smiled happily, "Looks like I lucked out."
"Yeah, you did, and you got a good property if you're going to buy it," He said, sounding genuinely impressed, as well as very slightly jealous. He didn't say more than that though, just leaned back and watched to see if she would buy it.
Rowan looked at her money and then the price of the property. She paused a moment before making the transaction making the property hers. She gave him a little smile as she signed, ”I would be stupid not to buy it.”
Soren shrugged and smiled, "I mean, I've never known anyone who hasn't bought those spaces when they land on them, so it would be a first for sure if you didn't." He scooped the dice up in his hand, as her roll wasn't a double and shook them again, rolling a solid five and passing GO easily.
Rowan gave a nod and watched him roll the dice. A part of her hair fell in her face and she pulled it out of the way as she kept watching him. She signed to him, "You going to buy that?"
"Yeah why not," He said with a shrug, smiling and handing over the small amount of money it would take to but the property. Soren passed the dice back to her at the same time, setting the new property next to his other ones easily.
Rowan smiled as she made the transaction before taking the dice. She hoped she would make it past income tax and be able to but more property. Hopefully. With a roll of a dice she landed on… Income tax, wonderful. There went her two hundred.
Soren couldn't help but laugh softly, shaking his head and looking at the space she landed on, "That's always the absolute worst space to land on. You lose the money from passing go before you even get anywhere on the board." He gave her a soft smile afterward, sliding the dice towards himself again slowly.
Rowan nodded sadly as she pushed the dice towards him. She put her two hundred into the center and let out a sad sigh. It was all for dramatics so she really wasn't all that sad about it. Fate just didn't want her to have her money.
(Want to timeskip through this game?)
"Don't worry, you'll probably make that money back as I go around the board. I'm guaranteed to hit one of your spots," Soren said, scooping up the dice and shaking them for a few seconds. His roll wasn't nearly as good as his very first one had been, but he landed a solid ten, leaving him safe at the jail, though he was sure to keep himself in the 'just visiting' category.
(Yeah)
"If I ever end up in jail… Will you visit me?" Rowan asked him jokingly when he landed on the jail spot. A light teasing smile and the exaggerated hand symbols were the only give away that she was joking.
(Ok, when to? :D)
He smiled and chuckled when she asked her question, pushing the dice to her and nodding, "Of course I will, as long as you'll visit me." Even if she was joking, he would try to have his person visit hers in jail, just to be fun.
(Ummm after the game? Lol I've got no clue.)
"Of course!" Rowan responded with a bright smile as she grabbed the dice. This was one of those moments she wished she could laugh, but she couldn't. She rolled the dice taking her turn.
(Ok lol, who do you want to win? I can do the time skip but we should figure that out first)
(Ummmmmmmm Rowan? I could do a random chance thing to make it more fair.)
(Sure, random chance works, but I would be fine with Rowan winning otherwise! Up to you)
(I'm fine with Rowan winning if your fine with it!)
(Ok!)
Timeskip
Soren had lost the game…badly. He didn't seem too bummed out about it though, even as Rowan drained all his money from him and he finally had to forfeit. "You win," He said with a tiny laugh, leaning back on the couch and sighing as he tried to guess how long they had been playing.
Rowan threw her arms up in joy as she won the game. She could have ended it earlier, but she was enjoying slowly draining the rest of Soren's properties and funds. She started to sign over to him, "You put up a good fight! I guess I'm the Monopoly queen now."
"I guess you are," He said, jokingly frowning and seeming disappointed. His act didn't last long though and he offered her a light smile, starting to pack up the game, "You're really good, I'll give you that. You definitely deserve the title of Monopoly queen." Soren was impressed with her strategy, and just how well she had absolutely drained him of all his properties and money.
"Why thank you! You weren't half bad yourself. I can see why you don't lose many games." Rowan signed back to him before starting to help out with putting the board away. She had won after all and it only seemed fair that she helped out with it.
He shrugged, grinning as he packed away the money and property cards, "You're one of the best players I've gone against, I would've won otherwise." Soren slipped the cover onto the box once the board and the remaining pieces were put away before standing up and walking off to put the game away, "So, what now? I would offer to drive you home if you need, and if there's someone that's going to be worried about your long disappearance, but you're also welcome to stay longer."
"I would stay longer, but I think I should head home," Rowan signed over to him as she took a glance down as she was reminded that she was wearing Soren's clothing. She would need to change before heading back to her shared house, "It was nice staying with you as long as I did!"
"Well then I'll drop you off whenever you're ready to go," He said, smiling lightly and walking back to the couch. Soren sat down again, leaning into the couch and sighing as he glanced over her, the smile still on his face, "Having you walk home in the snow from earlier doesn't sound like a good idea."
"It doesn't really," Rowan admitted as she thought for a moment. She eventually stood up and picked up her bag before gesturing slightly to herself, "I should probably change first. Then you can take me home."
(Ok, I'm going to let you know (Even if I know it sounds like a major excuse), I'm working two jobs over these next two weeks so my replies might be more infrequent, but I promise I don't want this to die and I'll try to reply at least once a day :) )
Soren nodded, "Sounds good, I'll be here whenever you're ready to go." He relaxed into the couch, smiling as he waved his hand and made the remote for the TV hover in the air and then float into his hand. It felt normal to use magic, and he was happy that Rowan knew about it so he didn't have to hide his powers as much.
(That's fine! Honestly, I can understand that lol)
Rowan gave him a smile watching him use his magic. She made her way into the bathroom and changed back into her regular clothes fairly quickly. It only took her a few minutes before she stepped back out in her little black dress holding the bundle of Soren's clothes in her hand. She struggled to sign, "Where do you want me to put these?"
Soren stood up when he heard her come back out, walking over and taking the clothes from her with a small smile, "I can take them. Do you need to borrow the sweatshirt as a jacket or did you bring one? I can't remember." He walked over to his room and disappeared inside for a minute, coming back out with a sweatshirt draped over his arm just incase she needed it.
