Lucas didn't seem to hear her, or else he'd likely be blushing again. He yawned a bit and moved closer to Melissa.
Lucas didn't seem to hear her, or else he'd likely be blushing again. He yawned a bit and moved closer to Melissa.
Shifting her position, she started playing with his hair instead. Hearing soft foot steps, she tilted her head back to see her father enter the room with a soft smile. Melissa gave him a smile of her own, waving a little.
Lucas was half asleep at this point and didn't hear Melissa's father come in. His eyes were still closed and he yawned again, relaxed and breathing easily.
Mr. Brennahan stepped up to the couch, leaning down to kiss Melissa's forehead. "Thank you again, dad." Melissa hummed, reaching out to take his hand. "Of course, honey. I'm happy to help. I'm gonna head upstairs for the night, so make sure you two go to bed sometime soon." He hummed a little before pulling back. "Alright, love you. Goodnight." She told him with a soft smile, before turning back to petting Lucas softly. "Love you, Melissa. See you in the morning." Mr. Brennahan hummed before ducking into the kitchen.
Lucas seemed to be either asleep or close to it by now. He just let Melissa support the weight of his head in her hand as he relaxed.
Smiling a little, she started to pull off. If he was asleep, she would just let him stay that way. Once she had gotten off the couch, Melissa pulled a blanket up and lightly tossed it over him. With him settled, she bent over to kiss him gently. "Happy birthday, Lu. Sleep tight." She hummed softly before starting off.
Lucas huddled up into the blanket and yawned again, seeming content to sleep. He relaxed, still smiling gently.
(Do we want to skip, once again?)
(Yep lol)
(When to? Next morning, or skip a few days?)

Somewhere in the middle of the night, Melissa had came back down stairs and fell asleep next to him on the floor. She had no idea why she had, and half forgot about it when she woke up. After a moment to register where she had been sleeping after waking up, she yawned and rubbed at her eyes. "Mm… what time is it?"
Lucas was still asleep and therefore did not answer Melissa's question. He had one arm hanging off the couch, his fingers linked loosely with Melissa's.
Glancing over to him, she smiled a little and brought his hand up to her lips. "Morning, handsome." Melissa hummed to herself, before reaching over and picking her phone up. "Ten? Must've been tired… hey, Lucas. We should probably be getting up." She told him softly, shaking his shoulder the same.
"Mmmmm…" Lucas stirred a bit and opened his eyes to look up at Melissa. "Mornin', Mel…" He mumbled sleepily, forcing himself up into a sitting position and yawning. His hair was fluffy and disheveled at this point from sleeping, but he was too tired to care at the moment.
Melissa felt her smile pick up a little more, giggling softly at his sleepy state. "Good morning. How'd you sleep?" She asked softly, feeling the need to fix her own hair. Brushing it back with her fingers, she twisted it up before tying it off.
"Pretty alright… you?" Lucas yawned again as he ran his fingers through his hair to neaten it up a bit.
"I slept good. Don't know when, but I came down here and fell asleep." Melissa hummed, resting her head on the spot where his had been. "I've got nothing to complain about, at least."
"Mm… can't imagine the floor is too comfortable, though." Lucas kissed Melissa softly and got to his feet.
"Yeah, but I was next to you. Besides, it felt weird and quiet in my room. I didn't like it." Melissa admitted softly, before getting up as well.
Lucas shrugged a bit. "Alright. What's for breakfast?" He asked. "Or… lunch depending on what time it is, I guess."
Wrapping her arms around his waist, she gently kissed his shoulder. "It's like ten. But I don't really know what to have for breakfast. Any suggestions?"
"I dunno… we could just have sandwiches or something again if you wanted." Lucas rested his head against Melissa.
Shrugging a little, Melissa stood on her toes before pecking his cheek. "We can do that. Or we can just rifle through the fridge to find something."
"Sounds good to me." Lucas yawned a bit and led Melissa into the kitchen. "Anything in particular you're craving? We've still got the leftover pizza…"
"No, I really don't care. If it wasn't for the fact you'd want me to, I'd probably skip 'breakfast'." Melissa hummed with a little shrug, leaning into him.
"Mm… maybe we can just have some pizza, then." Lucas opened the fridge and sighed, pulling out the pizza box.
Melissa pulled back from him, turning to pull a glass from the cabinet. "You alright?" She asked softly, filling her cup with water from the sink.
