@Fraust

"Well, isn't it kinda my fault that they were fighting? I dunno… I just… I feel bad…" Lucas sighed, running his fingers through his hair.

Melissa frowned a little, sliding off the couch and sitting on the floor. "I really don't know. I wish I could give you more, but I really don't know." She told him softly, resting her head back and looking over to him.

@Fraust

Lucas shrugged, staring at the ceiling. "I guess we'll find out eventually, yeah?" He sighed quietly and closed his eyes.

@Fraust

"Eh… probably not. I'll get over it eventually. We should look for stuff for the pen, though."

@Fraust

"Alright, Mel…" Lucas returned the kiss and sighed. "I'll see you soon, then." He pet Cody gently.

“It should only take me a couple of seconds. I’ll be right back.” Melissa hummed softly, starting up the stairs. Coming up to the closet, she pulled the door open with a light sigh. There were a few boxes- but on the top shelf. And she had a feeling they would be heavy. Gathering whatever strength she had, she slowly started to pull one of the boxes off the shelf.

@Fraust

Lucas hummed softly to himself while he waited for Melissa to return, gently scratching behind Cody's ears. The puppy yawned a bit and snuggled closer to Lucas.

Melissa groaned a little, the box seemingly caught on something. "Come on, why won't you-" As she was muttering under her breath, the box came loose when she gave it a decent tug. Slipping from her hands, the box made a decent thud on the floor, and Melissa gasped in surprise jerking away from the place it lay on the floor.

@Fraust

Lucas jolted up when he heard a loud this. "Melissa? You okay? What happened?" He called out worriedly, ready to get up if she didn't reply.

After a couple of seconds of shakiness, she picked up the box and let out a soft sigh. "I'm alright- just dropped the box." She called out, starting down the stairs. "It startled me, that's all."

@Fraust

Lucas nodded, still not seeming entirely reassured. "What's in them that's making them so heavy?" He asked.

"Not sure," Melissa started, tipping the box to see if there was any writing. When she didn't find anything, she started to pull the flaps open. "It's probably some kind of stuff of my parent's."

@Fraust

"Mm… are we supposed to be messing with it, then?" He asked, curiously watching Melissa open the box.

"Dunno." Melissa hummed, brow furrowing as she looked through it. Pulling out one of the books, she felt a smile pull up. "I think it's fine. It's got a lot of stuff from when I was little."

@Fraust

Lucas smiled gently as well, relaxing somewhat. "What else is in there?" He asked, sitting up a bit to watch.

Melissa handed the scrapbook she was holding over to him, starting to riffle through the box. "Look like me and Gabriel's elementary yearbooks. There's some tapes in here- from Christmas and birthdays."

@Fraust

Lucas flipped through the scrapbook, still smiling softly. "Mm… I wonder if there's a box like this buried somewhere in my house?"

@Fraust

"Eh… maybe someday. I'm not ready to go back there yet." Lucas sighed, holding Cody close to his chest.

@Fraust

Lucas nodded as well and rested his head against Melissa's shoulder. "Mm… I love you, Mel…" He said softly.

@Fraust

Lucas flushed a bit as he looked at the picture of him and Melissa as kids. He looked so… happy back then. He examined it consideringly, humming a bit to himself.

Melissa gently ran her fingers over the pictures, keeping up a little smile. It was strange how vividly she could remember that day. "You know, I think I would give about anything to be a little kid again. Everything was so much easier."

@Fraust

"Yeah…" Lucas sighed softly. "It would definitely be a lot more fun. We couldn't really be dating when we were six, though." They'd still be alive.
