Lucas sighed. "You're not in the wrong there, Mel… just me. I'm stupid most of the time and I don't like bothering people, so I make bad decisions."
Lucas sighed. "You're not in the wrong there, Mel… just me. I'm stupid most of the time and I don't like bothering people, so I make bad decisions."
"Lucas, you're not stupid. Just a little… ignorant at times." Melissa insisted, reaching up and running her fingers through his hair. "We all are."
Lucas leaned into Melissa's hand and relaxed a bit, closing his eyes. "Yeah, yeah… I'm really accident prone, too…"
Melissa laughed a little, resting her head against his. "I can't really justify that. It's too true to deny."
"It's like the universe looks down at me and it's like… 'yeah. This kid is gonna fall down the stairs today'."
Laughing again, she looped her arms around him again. "I need to get you that shirt. The 'I'm not clumsy' one."
"Mm…" Lucas closed his eyes and sighed, just letting Melissa hold him. "The concussion isn't helping much…"
"I bet. But I mean, the one good thing that came out of this, is that I get to be closer with you." Melissa hummed softly.
"True…" Lucas huddled up against Melissa, slowly relaxing in her arms. "That part is definitely nice."
Melissa smiled, enjoying the little time she would have close to him. "Especially since I don't think we've gotten to cuddle much. That's honestly one thing I wish I got more often."
"Yeah. Maybe when we move in together or when we go to the clearing." Lucas shrugged a bit.
"I'd like that… a lot." Melissa whispered, pulling back just a little bit. "Honestly, as long as it doesn't bug you, I think there will be a lot of physical affection when we move in together."
"Sounds fine to me. I'm actually like, really touch starved, so that's okay. Well, good touch starved… you know what I mean. Like, you've probably noticed that touching my hair is just an immediate relaxer for me."
"Why do you think I would do it so much?" Melissa asked softly, keeping up a smile. "And I know what you mean. I honestly am just a really affectionate person, so clearly we're a perfect match."
Lucas nodded a bit, gently kissing Melissa's neck. He normally would kiss her cheek, but he was too tired to lift his head to do so.
Her face flushed a little, but she kept up a smile. "That was different." Melissa mentioned idly, lifting her own head just a little.
"Mm… sorry, Mel…" Lucas yawned a bit and huddled closer. "I won't do it again if you don't want me to."
"No- that wasn't a bad different." Melissa insisted, noting how tired he seemed all of a sudden. "I actually kind of liked it."
"Mmkay…" Lucas was quiet for a few seconds. "M'head hurts…" He murmured.
"Did you have medicine already?" Melissa asked softly, pulling back so she could look at his face.
"Um… with breakfast, I think, but not with lunch. It's been a while." Lucas was a little paler than usual and was squinting a bit so the light wouldn't hurt his eyes so much.
"Why don't we get you upstairs, and I'll grab you some medicine. Sound like a good plan?" Melissa asked softly, kissing his lips gently. "You look pretty tired."
"Mmkay…" Lucas closed his eyes and winced a bit. "Sounds good to me, Mel…"
Melissa gave him a worried look, and started to get up. "Did I hurt you?" She asked lightly, offering a hand so he could pull himself up.
"No, no… m'head just did a sharp thingy and stabbed me…" He mumbled, allowing Melissa to help him up.
When he was on his feet, Melissa wrapped her arm around his waist. "I'm sorry, Lu." She whispered, supporting him best she could.
"What're you sorry for, Mel?" Lucas asked weakly, looking over at her.
"That you're in so much pain. I can't do a thing to help you either." Melissa sighed feebly, before leading him on up the stairs.
"Mm… you can give me pain meds, distract me, whatever…" Lucas shrugged, carefully making his way up with Melissa's help.
"But it's not going to actually heal you any faster. It just subsides the pain." Melissa mumbled, knowing she was just finding excuses to feel helpless to him. "It's dumb. I should just stop talking, I'm sure it's not helping your head."
