"Mhmm…" Lucas yawned a bit, sighing softly. "I'm sorry I'm such a mess…"
"Mhmm…" Lucas yawned a bit, sighing softly. "I'm sorry I'm such a mess…"
"Oh hush. You're fine, Lu." Melissa hummed, gently poking the tip of his nose. "I'll be back in just a second."
Lucas nodded and kicked off his shoes, making a mental note to shower after Melissa was done taking care of him.
Just as she had said, it only took her a few minutes to return. Pushing her door back open, she had a quart of ice cream, two spoons, and an ice pack. “How does some vanilla ice cream sound?”
"Sounds pretty good to me." Lucas forced himself up into a sitting position and accepted the ice pack and a spoon from Melissa.
Smiling lightly, she sat down in the edge of the bed with a smile. “Good. Let’s dig in.” Melissa hummed, pulling the lid off and holding it out to him.
Lucas held the ice on his cheek with one hand and stuck a spoonful of ice cream into his mouth with the other.
Giving him a light smile, she tucked her legs up next to her. “Is it any good?” Melissa asked softly, taking some of her own.
"Yeah, pretty good. I'm not picky, though." Lucas shrugged and ate another spoonful of ice cream.
"Well good. I wouldn't want you to despise it." Melissa joked with a light smile. "That would just be sad."
"Mhmm." Lucas closed his eyes and sort of zoned out for a bit, swaying in place.
Taking not of his uneasiness, she slowly started to get off the bed. “Why don’t you lie back down, hm?” Melissa said softly, taking his spoon away.
"Mmmm… but ice cream…" Lucas kept his eyes closed so he wouldn't get more disoriented.
“I’ll feed it to you, but I want you to lie down.” Melissa said softly, setting the contents in her hands aside. “Come on, lie down.”
"You don't need to feed me, Mel…" Lucas whined, reluctantly laying down when instructed.
“But I want to.” She insisted, petting the top of his head gently. “I told you, this is my chance to baby you. Let me do it, this one time.”
Lucas pouted a bit, but stopped arguing. "Fine, fine…" He sighed, wincing when the light hit his eyes.
Glancing up, she pulled back and shut her ceiling light off and turning the fan up. “That any better?”
"A little bit, yeah…" Lucas sighed, rubbing his temple with one hand. "The pain meds aren't helping a lot…"
Melissa felt a light smirk creeping up on her lips. Leaning over, she gently kissed his lips. “I’d kiss your cheek, but I have a feeling that would hurt.”
Lucas huffed and flushed a bit, looking away. "Y-Yeah… probably…"
Melissa felt her smile pull up more, and she sat on the edge next to him. “You want more ice cream? Or do you like me better? Both are an option.”
Lucas flushed harder, unsure how to respond. "I-I… um…" He stammered weakly, keeping his eyes on Melissa.
“Alright, I’m done.” Melissa told him softly, resting her hand on his. “Though in all seriousness, do you still want ice cream?”
"Uh… sure." Lucas reached out for a spoon, pushing himself up a bit.
“Ahah, I can do it. You’re suppose to be lying down.” Melissa hummed, picking up his spoon and the ice cream.
Lucas huffed a bit and reluctantly lay back down. "But Mel…" He whined.
“But nothing. Please, let me do this.” Melissa pleaded with him, pouting a bit herself.
"Fiiiine…" Lucas sighed and forced himself to relax.
Spooning up some ice cream, she held it out for him to eat. “Thank youuuu.”
