Rowan clapped a little seeing the flower grow and took the flower from him. She was blushing a little as she brought the flower close to her, "That was amazing. So you can make flowers forever? That's cool."

@gracehustle

"Until my magic runs out, I can make as many flowers as I want." Soren smiled and his face flushed slightly as she clapped at him. Seeing how much she liked the spell made him happy and reminded him of just why he wanted to teach people magic. For times like these.

@ShadeStar

"Well I'm sure you can make a lot of flowers," Rowan nodded a little and smiled at him while she signed. She had rested the flower on top of all of her pencils, the ones she had summoned that is, "How do you do that?"

@gracehustle

He pushed the spellbook so it was resting on his leg but she could see it and read the spell, a bright smile on his face, "It's the exact same motion as growing it in soil, but to grow the flower above your hand you have to put a little more effort since you're really almost growing it from thin air and magic." It was a difficult spell to explain, but the movements were simple enough to get the hang of.

@ShadeStar

Rowan nodded a little and studied the spell. She was trying to figure out how much effort to put in it since if she put too much in she might burn herself out and not be able to do any more magic today. Taking a deep breath she started to make the motions putting a fair amount of effort to create the flower. Though at the moment her efforts seemed to be futile.

@gracehustle

"Don't worry about your effort, I'll tell you to stop at the first sign that you're going to burn out," Soren assured her, watching her motions. She was doing well so far, even getting the motions close to what was written as possible. As long as she kept working at it, soon he guessed, the flower would start to form.

@ShadeStar

Rowan gave a nod and continued to focus on the motions and the energy. A slow bloom started form though her magic started to fluctuate growing stronger and then seemingly disappearing.

@gracehustle

Soren watched her magic carefully, tapping her arm to signal for her to stop as her magic started to disappear. It didn't feel like she was going to go over, but when the magic started to disappear it was never good, so stopping her sooner rather than later would be safe.

@ShadeStar

Rowan stopped as he tapped her arm although she wanted to make more than just a poor semblance for a bloom. She carefully offered him what she had created with a little smile while attempting to sign to him, "Did I go overboard?"

@gracehustle

"I'm not sure..your magic didn't feel like it was fading like you went overboard…it more just..got weaker?" He explained, or tried to. Soren took the bloom thankfully, smiling at her and setting the base of the flower in his hand. Once again, he started to do the same spell as before, finishing off the rest of her flower and handing it back with a hopeful smile, "I think to be safe we should call that good for the day though..until I can find out why your magic was acting strangely."

@ShadeStar

Rowan watched him restore the rest of the flower and pushed it back towards him when he tried to give it back to her. It was for him to keep. She nodded a little feeling saddened that she couldn’t keep practicing at this moment, but understood it was probably best, ”Okay. Do you have any ideas why my magic did that?”

@gracehustle

He shook his head, shrugging as he set the flower next to him, "I have no clue why it acted like that, I haven't ever had that problem with my magic. For now I think you should stick to no more magic for the day, but tomorrow try one of the spells you know and text me if it works or if your magic still acts funny." Soren had never seen anyone deal with their magic fluctuating like that either, though he didn't have very many friends that actively worked with their magic or were knowledgable in the field of magic.

@ShadeStar

Rowan nodded a little as she played with the flower just slightly. She didn't know why it acted like that either, she had just assumed it was exhaustion like he warned about. Apparently not though which worried her slightly. She looked up at him, "I will. Your a great teacher by the way."

@gracehustle

His cheeks flushed and he smiled at her compliment, "Thanks." Soren tapped the flower she had made and did his best to compliment her in return, "You're a really hard-working student, especially for the first official day of learning to control your magic."

@ShadeStar

"Thank you!" Rowan responded with a bright grin on. Her cheeks tinted red as she signed from the compliment she had been given. She couldn't be that good of a student could she?

@gracehustle

"Well, what should we do now? Since practicing magic is off-limits?" He asked, relaxing back onto the couch and letting his smile grow as he glanced over at her. Maybe they could watch a movie, or he could drive her home, depending on what she wanted to do.

@ShadeStar

"We could play a game or watch a movie?" Rowan suggested not wanting to leave quite yet. She was enjoying herself here at Soren's even if she was overstaying her time here. He didn't seem to mind her presence at least.

@gracehustle

(Sorry it's short)
Soren nodded, smiling happily, "That sounds fun. which do you want to do more? Movie or game?" He was fine with either, meaning she could choose what she wanted to do more.

@ShadeStar

(It's fine!)

"Game," Rowan signed over to him with a little smile. She didn't think she could sit through a movie without falling asleep. It was a bad habit of hers and games could give conversation, "What games do you have?"

@gracehustle

"I think we have checkers and chess, probably monopoly, and I think we also have connect four," He replied, trying to remember what games they had in their small selection. There definitely weren't many, but they were classics that he hoped she knew how to play.

@ShadeStar

"Monopoly?" Rowan perked up after hearing that. It was a longer game, yes, but she really enjoyed playing it. The game also would probably decide if the two would get along or not. She smiled over at him, "I'm down for playing monopoly if you are."

@gracehustle

He smiled and nodded, winking at her as he talked, "I'm down for that, but I'll let you know now, I'm the king of Monopoly. And unless you want me to, I won't go easy on you, even if I do like you." Soren got to his feet, leaving the flower and book of spells on the couch as he walked over to a small coat closet tucked near the bathroom. He dug through it for a minute before pulling out the game, a smile on his face.

@ShadeStar

Rowan smiled and watched him move. She couldn't sign anything to him unless she was sure she had his attention. Otherwise, the gestures became meaningless if he didn't see them. She glanced at his spell book looking at the spells on the open pages glancing up to see if she had his attention yet. Once she did she signed to him, "Well, I'm coming for your crown. So don't go easy on me."

@gracehustle

(Oh crap I'm so sorry for the late response I thought I already replied to this >_<)
Soren laughed, bringing the game back over to the couch and setting it on the coffee table in front of the couch, "I won't go easy on you as long as you're going to try to take my crown." He hadn't played Monopoly in a while, seeing as his roommate had gotten quite sick of loosing over and over, but he was sure he could still win.

@ShadeStar

"I didn't think you would," Rowan was smiling and started to set up the board from where she was sitting. She had confidence she would win, even if her streak wasn't as impressive as Soren's. But she had a tendency to topple things over.

@gracehustle

He grinned and started to help her set up, laying out the game pieces and glancing up at Rowan for a minute. "Do you want to be the bank? Or should I?" There wasn't a ton to set up, and he was happy about that. The sooner they set up, the faster they could get to play.

@ShadeStar

"I'll be the bank. To make sure you aren't cheating," Rowan responded with a big laugh taking the box top with all the money in it. She had no plans on cheating herself, but she wanted to make sure he didn't, "Also can I be the cat?"

@gracehustle

"Yes you can, I'll be…the race car," Soren replied with a soft laugh, pushing the piece towards her as he took the tiny metal figurine and set it on the board, "I hope you know i"ll be watching so you don't cheat either, miss magic." He was excited to see if he could win. But if he lost, at least he would have found a formidable opponent finally.

@ShadeStar

Rowan had a soft grin on as she grabbed the little cat figure. She placed it on GO before starting to distribute money to both him and her. Hopefully, she would win and be able to back her words up. She looked up at him,"I won't cheat. Promise!"

@gracehustle

He didn't hide the smile that settled onto his face as she promised she wouldn't cheat, and jokingly he winked, "I'll be careful to make sure you don't go back on that promise." It was more a joke than anything since he trusted her even before she promised.
