(Sorry, am getting ready to go to Cadets…)
(ooh cool!)
A faint rustling sounded nearby and Jaoel sat up like a bolt, looking around– there was no movement to be seen.
He carefully got to his feet, shaking the grass out of his tousled hair, and noticed the sound was getting louder.
"Hello?" he called out half-eager, half-cautious.
Suddenly a portal opened in the nearby trees, and Firiko fell out of it, catching himself on a treebranch (Which promptly broke) and falling to the ground in a mess of feathers. "OW! Why (Insert much colorful language in two languages here) does this always happen to me!" he groaned, moving so his wing was no longer twisted beneath him.
Jaoel fell backwards with a surprised shriek, just barely catching himself from slamming into a tree trunk.
He stared open-mouthed at the indistinguishable bird figure lying on the ground. And then it spoke.
"That has never happened before," he said out loud, slowly blinking in wonder but keeping his distance.
Firiko froze when he heard a voice, immediately sitting up, though regretting it, as his head suddenly throbbed from where it had hit a treebranch on the way down. His wings remained splayed on the ground, at slightly uncomfortable angles. "I'm sure it hasn't…" he replied grumpily, finally looking up at the rather good looking guy in front of him.
Out of the mass of feathers popped a head. Taken by surprise, Jaoel let out a sparkling laugh.
He took a bouncy step towards the stranger, still grinning. "You just portalled, didn't you?" he asked, alight with curiosity.
"Good observation." said Firiko flatly. "Unfortunately for me it was unintended. And random." he said, growling slightly in frustration as he realized the gold band was gone, cursing mentally cause he knew it could've gotten him home.
"Right ray of sunshine, aren't we?" Jaoel commented. He sat down cross-legged in front of the stranger, with the air of a child sitting down for a story.
Jaoel looked the man straight in the eye. "What might your name be?" he asked.
(FYI in a few minutes I will be at Cadets, at which time I will not be able to respond until closing. Which is about 3 hours from now.)
(no problem)
(Fyi I'm still here for a little longer.)

(And now I gtg… oof..)
(lmao okay, see you later)
(I'm back! Also you don't have to wait for me to be on to reply… I love coming on and seeing an addition to the story..)
(Okay awesome!)
(Isn't it your turn right now?)
(OMG…… Sorry!!)

Firiko watched him. finally pulling his wings back in order brushing out his feathers. "My name's Firiko…" he said, "You?"
(OMG…… Sorry!!)
(don't worry!)
(Thanks… still… Facepalms..)
Jaoel cocked his head to the side, eyes still trained on the Firiko's face. "That's a strange name. As for me?" He puffed out his chest. "I am the prince of the country," he said seriously.
Firiko raised an eyebrow. "And how come you;'re out here alone then?" he asked, not sure whether to belive him or not.
(I have to do classwork, so I will be slow)
Jaoel grinned, showing teeth. "I escaped. Our guards are idiots." He jumped to his feet and held out a hand, his grin falling into an honest smile.
Firiko raised an eyebrow. "Riiight." he said, "Though I have a strong feeling you're lying to me." he said, taking his hand and getting up, ruffling his wings to straighten out the feathers.
"Think what you will," he said with a lazy shrug. His gaze went to Firiko's wings. "Those are beautiful, y'know."
"They're also annoying." Responded Firiko instantaneously.
