Jaoel sighed and shook his head sadly. "You have to learn to find beauty in the world, Firiko. It doesn't last forever," he said wisely. He twitched his finger and the box slid over to him– he sat on it.
"So tell me. What brings you to my neck of the woods?" Jaoel said mildly, obviously studying the rest Firiko's body.
Firiko watched the other for a moment, slightly miffed at being told to learn to find beauty. "Well I fell through a random portal and after that I got nothin." He said flatly.
"And I know how to see beauty, I live in one of the most dangetous, and by personal opinion, beautiful areas of my world. Everyone else thinks the place is cursed."
(Sorry… my internet is kinda wacky…)
(that's fine, wifi is less and less reliable these days shrugs)
(Well bad weather and being not in the middle of the city doesn't help)
Jaoel perked up. "Sounds like a nice place! You'll take me one day," he told Firiko lightly. "Now, you said you fell through a random portal?" he asked, wrinkling his nose in confusion. "Who opened it?"
"Not a clue" said Firiko, shrugging as he leaned against a tree. "I don't know who opened it. I was walking along when I started to get dizzy, I sat down for a moment, and somehow fell into a portal."
"That is strange," Jaoel admitted. He thought about it a moment, thought about the types of portals his mother had brought up the rare times he'd managed to wheedle information out of her. "Did you have anything on you that might've triggered something?" Jaoel questioned, curious to figure this out.
Firiko frowned. "Depends on what kind of trigger we're talking about" he said, but then it dawned on him, "but there was this random, really really random Considering where I was, lady who gave me a shard of scrap metal for no reason." He said, pulling the shard out of his pocket.
Jaoel held out his hand for the object, unsure of what it was exactly. This was an interesting situation and he was soaking it up for all it was worth before life went back to normal.
He took a moment and looked up at Firiko, studying his face, handsome in a rugged, wild sort of way.
Firiko payed no mind to the other's gaze, though he did take the chance to admire the other as he handed the shard over. "Think what you will of it" he said.
Jaoel held Firiko's gaze before looking down at the metal shard in his hand. "How ordinary," he pointed out, turning it between his thin fingers.
"I know" said Firiko. "But the circumstances under which it came into my possession, are unusual"

"She just walked up to you?" he asked, running fingers around its jagged edges.
"Well she called out first" said Firiko, "She didn't know me or anything, but she did call out.." he sighed.

"That is a strange one…" He handed back the shard to Firiko. "If you really want to understand what happened we could try and find out," Jaoel offered, unconsciously rolling a bead of water between his fingers.
"And how would we do that?" Asked Firiko, repocketing the shard.
"Well…" Jaoel jumped to his feet, rubbing his hands together excitedly. "My mother could help!"

"And why is your mother able to help?" Asked Firiko.

Jaoel whirled on Firiko. He took a sauntering step forward. "My mother…" Another step. "Is…" And another. They stood inches apart, and Jaoel's dramatic expression broke into an excited smile. "A nymph!"
Firiko gave him a weird look. "You're worse than my uncle…" he stated flatly. A little weirded out.

Slightly hurt by Firiko's unmoved reaction, Jaoel placed a finger on Firiko's chest. "Very well. I'll be cold and judgmental, see you how you like it." He sent a jolt of icy cold to Firiko and backed away smoothly, packing his box into a pocket size accessory with a dry nod.
Firiko flinched at the jolt of cold, using a bit of his own aura to reverse the effects, keeping one eye on the other.
Pocketing the box, Jaoel silently and proudly started into the forest. He wasn't sure Firiko would follow, though he hoped he would. He needed the excuse to visit, after all.

Firko eventually sighed, following after him, his footsteps nearly silent as he walked through the trees.
