Broo that's awesome!! I wish I could write lyrics like that lmao

And I kinda suck at both lyrics and music, but at least I can use the circle of fifths for chords

@Elder-God-Whisper work

((Skksks here have this

I was young when I gave up on love
I was young when I watched it
Ruin lives all around me
I was young when I realized
It would just cause me pain
That's when I gave up on love

Didn't care much for romantic movies
Didn't care much for love songs too
Had a hole in my heart
I could never seem to fill
And then I met you

You came around
Turned my world upside down
And I sat down and wrote this for you

So raise a glass
To you and I
Faces turned up to the sky
Took a couple broken hearts
To lead me straight to you

So tell me
Are you worth the heartbreak
Are you worth the pain

Raise a glass to you and I
Just another couple
Stars in the sky

And I'm holdin' on tight
Hopin' you don't let me down
I don't think you'll let me down

((Spoiler alert, I was, in fact, 'let down'.))

@SpookyJim

i don't think you know
how much i try
to go with the flow
i'm trying not to cry.

You wanna know Why?
Well the answer is this:
We cover ourselves
with ignorance and bliss.

It's not to ignore
it's not to be missed
for sake of discussion
and how hard this hits.

Could it be we use
a new point of view
tied around us like a noose
used to hide the truth?

I'm pretty new to this but I find that talking to songwriters always help inspire my work. Anyone got something they want help with

Definitely. I'm having trouble with making lyrics flow together nicely. I usually only write freestyle poetry because I like to use the exact words that I want to describe something. I don't like changing them to make words flow together, I feel like it changes the meaning of the song, and sometimes makes the lyric sound basic and ridiculous.

@Tiani

I know what you mean. Have you tried elongating vowels of shorter phrases so it lasts the same amount of time as the longer phrases. I’d try experimenting with the length of words so you don’t have to give up the depth of the lyrics.

@Tiani

Also, try speaking the words with feeling. It will sound weird but try finding a comfortable rhythm. Clap a beat and say the words with intense emotion. It will give the song a more natural, glowing feel. If the emotion is anger, you’ll find the words will flow faster, with certain words being emphasised heavily. If the emotion is a kind of wonder or love, the words might have longer gaps between each lone and some words might naturally elongate themselves. You might sound a bit insane but it works.

@Tiani

Hello Hello. I Usually Write About Stuff That's Close To Me. A Lot Of Emotional Stuff.

Sometimes that’s what makes the best music. Real emotion moves people. It’s a magical thing

One of the songs on the album that I’m releasing soon literally has a voicemail from my best friend

@Bandito

Door agaping, mouth shut tight
Hold still in bed, you turn on the light
Don't make a sound, sticky feet on wood
Approaching, then leaving, I'd cry if I could

Some people say um, some people say like
But there's nothing to fill in the gaps in my psych(e)
I'm running, you're snoring, I'm breathing my silence
It chokes me, disturbs me, it's causing the violence

It's okay, I'm fine
I know, I'm just tired
Some things take a long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long, long time

Lead streaks down the blade of my souvenir knife
A replacement for blood, pencils can save a life
I had a normal day, but why can't you see
That normal for you is not normal for me?

Maybe if you thought, you'd finally figure out
Why we don't ever say what our songs are about
But for now I, the mystery, lay me down to rest
And put on the headphones, a confused, quiet mess
