Tell me something, tell me something worth knowing
Tell me all the little things that make you who you are
I want to know, why it was that you first cried
I want to see, all the little things that make up what I’m seeing

Broken bones and pictures of smiling faces
Smells like home and all best of memories
Broken bones and pictures of smiling faces
Watch your smile as it all comes flooding in

Through the bad times and the good times, who was it that stood by you?
I want to get to know, all the people you call home
“Life flew by, faster than I thought it would.”
Dear I think that’s called nostalgia, isn’t it such a pretty word

Broken bones and pictures of smiling faces
Smells like home and all best of memories
Broken bones and pictures of smiling faces
Watch your smile as it all comes flooding in

What did your mother say, the night you brought
Your first boyfriend home?
Was it awkward, was it nice, or nothing more than tersely polite?
Did she send him off with a hug, and the dinner’s leftovers, or kick him right out the door?

Broken bones and pictures of smiling faces
Smells like home and all best of memories
Broken bones and pictures of smiling faces
Watch your smile as it all comes flooding in

All the stories that you tell me, make you light up
From the tragic, to the best moments you remember
Just to have an avid listener, is amazing, you tell me
And then you turn to me, and say just the same thing

Tell me something, tell me something worth knowing
Tell me all the little things that make you who you are
What made you laugh, and what brought tears to your eyes
What did it feel like, when you first fell in love

That's… really great lyrics. Do you have a beat or a melody for it yet?

Lmao nope. I can't think that far, since I barely know anything about writing music.

May I try to add a melody?

OK, so anyone here have any tips for songwriting for a girl who just got into music and would like to play the ukulele and sing her own song? Like a song format and brainstorming starters? Because that's totally not me and I totally don't have any clue what I'm doing with music and totally isn't a little embarrassed that I know nothing.

I usually start with an idea, like a sentence or two that decribes what I want to say with my song, the meaning of it. Maybe the sentence has the titel of the song in it. Then I start working around that, adding more lines and stuff. Then I head over to my keyboard and start plating with rythms and melodys, and from there I add more lines and instruments and melodys and then the rest comes pretty naturally. In the end I record it and add the dj-ish stuff with loops and different tracks and stuff…

I got. So fucking sad and am legit crying about Tony Stark(thanks, Pinterest, with the angsty fanart comics), and I wrote something??? It's really bad 'cause it's almost midnight here but

How to Be A Hero: inspired by the man that makes me cry at night, Tony Stark

You start, with a tragic backstory
Isn’t that how this works?
Daddy issues and problems with commitment, just wait you aren’t even started
You don’t know the pain, you’ll feel in a year or two

A dose of hope and a dash of confidence
A one liner, at just the right time
You’ve made a name, but it’s not who you are yet
Someone you’re pretending to be

This, is a step by step guide
How to be a hero by the greatest one we’ve known

Keep on pushing, past the point of realism
In the face of sure defeat you keep on fighting
You laugh, brush it off so easy
Calling it a piece of cake, no big deal

A dose of hope and a dash of confidence
A one liner, at just the right time
Even when the nightmares keep you awake
Smile, smirk, laugh, the hope isn’t fake

This, is a step by step guide
How to be a hero by the greatest one we’ve known

Now that you’ve accepted it, know that you are one
The world’s so much safer with you in it
But here it is, all the trauma and the pain and suffering
It was promised, even if you didn’t know it at first

A dose of hope and a dash of confidence
A one liner, at just the right time
But the fragile peace never lasts
As a bigger threat than the last appears

This, is a step by step guide
How to be a hero by the greatest one we’ve known

Heroes, have to die to become legends
And some people, are born with tragedy in their veins
Seems like that’s the one thing that ties us together
Half was never as strong as the whole

A dose of hope and a dash of confidence
A one liner, at just the right time
Even as you take your last breath
Say goodbye to the ones that mean the most to you
You won’t see them for a long time, you hope

You gave up everything, to save the universe
We owe you everything, but our everything isn’t quite enough
Thank you, for all that you have sacrificed
You did so much more, than anyone expected

This, is a step by step guide
How to be a hero by the greatest one we’ve known

Part of the journey is the end
