Amber’s eyes opened slowly, confusion swimming in them. He’d pulled away so abruptly… Was something wrong?
“Yeah… Yeah, I suppose you’re right,” she breathed instead of asking. If there was something wrong, he’d tell her. Right?
The entire ride home, William could only thing about one thing. Well, there was more than that. Amber. Her mouth, her eyes, her mouth, her sweet laughter—and each time he let those thoughts consume him, he found himself wanting.
He dared to look at Amber.
He liked her. He knew he did, but he never realized just how much he did. He never knew just how much power she had over him until that brief moment. He didn’t just like her—William was in love with her. Every little piece of her, he loved. And it was terrifying because if she slipped away from him—William didn’t dare let that thought linger. Instead, he focused on his breaking, on the road, and most of all, on the woman beside him.
Amber watched William from her spot next to him. She didn’t know what happened to make him pull away, but she was sure it wasn’t that bad. He would tell her if it was.
When William parked his car, he didn’t get out immediately. He threw his head back and let out a sigh, running a hand through his hair. Finally, he looked at Amber, cocking his head to the side.
“Don’t look at me like that,” he said simply, his voice deep, eyes burning. “You’re driving me insane. It was hard enough to concentrate on driving when all I wanted to do was kiss you breathless.”
A smirk tugged at Amber’s lips. It definitely hadn’t been that bad if he still wanted to kiss her so badly.
“Well, it’s a good thing we’re home, then, isn’t it?” she murmured, her eyes flashing with a playful light.
William’s eyew flashed in warning, eyes flickering to her mouth before going back to her eyes. His jaw tensed and he swallowed. He closed his eyes, breathing deeply through his nose and exhaling through the mouth.
“I hate it when you smirk like that,” he muttered under his breath. “It makes you so goddamn attractive.”
Amber’s smirk only grew as she chuckled softly. “Would it be better if I did this…?” she whispered, biting her lip in an unspoken challenge of, “What are you going to do about it?”
“All right, that’s enough,” William breathed out, unbuckling his seatbelt and practically flying out of the car. He walked over to the passenger seat, opened the door as Amber was unbuckling herself and pulled her out, locking the car and making his way to the dorm. It was torture fumbling with the key and jamming it in the keyhole, but the second they were inside and the door was closed, William firmly clasped their lips together.
Amber chuckled against his lips before kissing him back. She wrapped her arms around his neck, pulling him down closer.
William kissed her gently, though he hadn’t spared even a little passion he pushed into the intimate contact. Lord knew just how much he was slowly losing himself—gladly, he would add—to Amber.
“Cruel, wicked woman,” he muttered against her lips, but made no move to pull away. It didn’t matter if only he felt this way. He didn’t expect Amber to return his deep feelings. She had, after all, been betrayed by her own boyfriend. And what she went through before that… yeah, he didn’t expect anything in return. Perhaps just her happiness. Nothing else but that.
“You like it…” Amber muttered back, one of her hands pushing up into his hair. She pulled back just enough to teasingly run her tongue over his lips before kissing him again.
William growled when she weaved her hands through her hair and then ran her tongue over his lips. He pushed against her, retaliating by biting down on her lip, pulling on it, running his own tongue over the spot. His blood boiled in his veins, the vessels nearly bursting with the intense emotion coursing through him. “No doubt about it, Blue.”
Amber felt a soft groan escape from her lips. She opened her mouth just enough to tease him, her fingers tightening in his hair.
“Will…”
William couldn’t help the smirk that took over his lips when he felt her part her lips. He slowly, painfully, pulled away from her mouth, eyes opening, breathing heavily.
“Yes, my love?” He panted, though the smirk was still on his lips.
Amber slowly opened her eyes, glaring at him as she breathed heavily. “What’re you doing, William?” she muttered.
“Whatever do you mean by that, Blue?” William cocked his head to the side, thumb reaching out to touch her lips.
“Why? Why are you doing this?” Amber breathed, playfully nipping his thumb when he touched her lips with it.
William’s eyes never strayed from her lips, especially when she took his thumb between her teeth. It sent a roar through him.
“Why?” He repeated, leaning closer. “That is the question, isn’t it? Perhaps I like seeing a reaction out of you. Perhaps I plain out like to torture you. You aren’t the only one who knows how to play a game, Blue.”
Amber narrowed her eyes at William and grabbed his hand. She tugged him closer, looking up into his eyes dangerously. “But I do still how how to play it,” she breathed before pushing him away with a tiny smirk and turning away.
William grinned wickedly before grabbing her arm and pulling her towards him, back pressed against his chest as he wrapped his arms around her. He breathed her in, nuzzling her neck. “I wonder which one of us will cave in first?”
Amber stiffened slightly to keep from reacting the way she knew he wanted her to. “Hm, yes… I wonder,” she muttered, trying to pull away.
William bit down on her earlobe, tugging on it playfully. “And where do you think you’re trying to go, love?”
“The kitchen for a drink of water,” Amber mumbled, her cheeks burning red. “Why, is there something you wanted?”
“Why, is your mouth dry? You know, you could just tell me and I’d give you relief,” William teased, trying to keep his laughter inside. “And I want you, but you already known that, so…”
“I didn’t think I needed to tell you to take something like that,” Amber said, turning her head slightly to peer at him out of the corner of her eye.
William cocked his head to the side. “Take something like what?”
“What you want,” Amber breathed, looking up at him from beneath her eyelashes.
“You?” William echoed. “Well, I do need your permission to proceed, Blue. Why don’t you tell me what you want?”
Amber let a slightly breathless smirk tug on her lips. “I want whatever you want to do to me… As long as it’s not teasing me relentlessly.”
William’s eyes darkened. “I’m afraid I can’t do what I want to do to you without the relentless teasings.”
