Amber blinked. “You don’t have to do that, Will. I can come meet you at home,” she said.
Amber blinked. “You don’t have to do that, Will. I can come meet you at home,” she said.
“I want to,” William answered, already making his way to his car. “Good thing we came on my car, right?”
“I suppose,” Amber hummed, a small smile tugging at her lips. “Thanks, Will.”
(Wait, I just realized they had a music room at college. Oof.)
“I’ll be there in ten,” William said to her. “Five, at the least, so just wait, okay?”
He turned around to walk into the main building of the college, walking as quickly as his legs would allow. His long legs, thankfully, have him an advantage.
(Lol.)
“Sure. Just come in when you get here,” Amber said, her mood already beginning to lift at the thought of more time with her boyfriend.
“With pleasure,” William chuckled as he neared the room. “You may begin playing again.”
“All right, hun. I’ll see you in a bit,” Amber hummed, hanging up and putting her phone away. Her fingers traveled over the keys once more, and she started again where she left off.
When William finally reached the room, music entered his eats. Amber always played beautifully and her voice put him to ease. He simply leaned against the doorway, a dazed look in his eyes as he watched his girlfriend create a melody blessing his ears.
“Just close your eyes, the sun is going down / You'll be alright, no one can hurt you now / Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound / Just close your eyes, you'll be alright / Come morning light, you and I'll be safe and sound,” Amber sang the last line of the song, her eyes closed as she played the final notes.
Just as the music ended, William walked over to her quietly and wrapped his arms around her neck, pressing a kiss to her cheek.
"Beautiful as always," he murmured, nuzzling her neck. "I love your voice. Have I ever told you that?"
Amber jumped, her eyes shooting open. She sighed as she heard William’s voice in her ear and leaned back into him. “Thanks… I needed to calm down a little,” she murmured.
"Is everything okay?" he questioned, lips pressed onto her neck, eyes closed, breathing deeply through his nose. "Who must I punish?"
Amber shivered a little at the feeling of his lips on her neck. “I’m okay now. I just… had a run-in with Jace and Savannah. I forgave them…”
William bit in a snarl and tightened his hold on Amber, but removed his mouth from her neck the second he felt her shiver. "Did you? Did they apologize? Do you think they deserved it, Blue?"
“Yes, yes, and…” Amber sighed, chewing on her lip. “I don’t know. I think so…”
"I'm proud of you," he breathed out. "For letting it go. For not letting Jace's betrayal affect you personally. And I'm proud of you for forgiving him though you had no reason to."
Amber let out a slow, shaking breath. “Yeah… It was hard, but I did it. I finally forgave him…”
"Forgiving someone doesn't mean you need to forget," William reminded her, though he knew he didn't need to. "You have no obligation to be his friend, or even tolerate him. You can move on, and you don't need him to do it."
Amber nodded slowly, leaning back into him further. “I know… Thanks, Will,” she sighed. “Do you want to go home?”
William kissed her cheek. "Do you want to go home?" he asked instead. "Or do you want to stay here and play the piano?"
“Hm… Both,” Amber chuckled softly. “But a snack and cuddling sounds really nice right now.”
At that, William sneaked his arm under Amber’s knees with the other at her back and picked her up in his arms, bridal style. Once he was sure she wouldn’t slip from his arms, he winked at her. “All you need to do is ask, love, and you’ll get it.”
Amber laughed a little, looking up at him with a small smile. “Put me down, Will. I have two good legs. I can walk on my own.”
William pressed his lips on hers for a brief kiss. “I know,” he chuckled, grinning at her lazily. “But I want to hold you like this.”
Amber crinkled her nose and squirmed in his arms. “Put me down!” she laughed.
William frowned down at her, pretending he was offended. "Do you really want me to put you down? You don't want me carrying you to the car?"
“Well… I suppose it is rather enjoyable,” Amber mused, a small smile on her features. “You can carry me, William.”
William's frown immediately switched to a grin as he turned around and walked to the door. "That's what I thought," he hummed. "You know, nobody's stopping you from wrapping your arms around me."
Amber chuckled softly before doing as he said. She nuzzled his shoulder where she could reach, pressing a kiss to the spot. "Are you going to walk me to your car or alm the way to the dorm?"
William nearly froze at the kiss but never loosened his hold on his girlfriend. "I could carry you to the dorm," he mused to himself, pretending the kiss hadn't caught off guard–or the fact that he liked the fact that she initiated it. "Whichever you like best."
