Amber chuckled, shaking her head in amusement as she took the knife. “I didn’t know it was satanic to cut a cake, but whatever you say, dear.”
Amber chuckled, shaking her head in amusement as she took the knife. “I didn’t know it was satanic to cut a cake, but whatever you say, dear.”
“It’s not satanic to cut a cake, but it’s satanic how we celebrate with candle-blowing and chanting,” he shook his head. “Now cut.”
"If that's the way you want to see it, I guess," Amber laughed, shaking her head before she sliced into the cake.
Before long, both of them had eaten their share of cake and the food. William set his utensils down, looking at Amber again, eyes ablaze.
“I would tell you to not get used to this, but then that would be like telling a lie,” he found himself saying. “I like the fact that you’re wearing the bracelet, too.”
Amber chuckled, lifting her arms to look at the bracelet. She twisted her wrist around, examining it with a smile. "Of course I'm wearing it. I love it."
“Come here,” William murmured, spreading his arms for the woman before him. “So I can hold you. It’s getting cold, isn’t it?”
Amber pushed herself to her feet and stepped around the table. "Mmhm, it's pretty cold… Do you want to pack up and head home soon?" she wondered in a murmur sitting down in his lap with her legs off to one side as she leaned sideways into him.
William kissed her cold cheeks, and despite her seemingly dry, pink skin, he still found her beautiful beyond words. He wrapped his arms around her, hoping his warmth was enough to prevent her from feeling cold.
“We should,” he agreed. “I don’t want you catching a cold. You’ll spread it to me and I’m sure neither of us want a sick William.”
Amber chuckled and kissed his forehead. "No, no we don't. We don't want you to be crankier than you already are," she teased.
William looked at her as if he was offended.
“Definitely not,” he stood up, setting her on the floor and began to collect things that he bought inside a bag next to him. “You take this. I’ll carry your guitar.”
"Hey!" Amber laughed as she was set down. Set shook her head, grinning as she crossed the floor to the guitar. "I cannot believe you actually got me a guitar…"
“You said you wanted to learn,” William answered softly. “So I got you one for you to learn. I’ll teach you.”
Amber smiled at the thought. Her leaning back into him as he moved her arms and hands into the right positions, his chest warm against her back… It sounded perfect.
"Can't wait to start," she sighed, picking the case up and turning back to him.
William rolled his eyes. “You know, Blue, you should learn to listen well,” he drawled sarcastically but meant to harm. “I’ll take the case. I don’t want you carrying weight when I’m around.”
Amber crinkled her nose and held the guitar to her chest, sticking her lower lip out at him in a playful pout. "But it's mine… I want to carry it."
“Okay,” William sighed in defeat, but not before swooping down to capture her cold lips in a warm kiss. “Let’s go.”
Amber grinned, a triumphant hum passing her lips. "Wonderful. I can't wait for you to start teaching me. Maybe we could do it tonight?"
“Tomorrow,” William promised her. “Tonight, I just want to go home and drag you to bed so I can sleep.”
"Oh, I guess you would be pretty tired, huh?" Amber mused softly. "How early did you wake up this morning?"
“It doesn’t matter, does it?” William kissed the top of her head before linking their fingers, leading her down the stairs into a warmer area. “I made you happy. That’s enough for me.”
"Yes, you certainty did make me happy," Amber sighed, turning to grin uo at him. "And I'm grateful for it."
“That’s enough for me,” William repeated, guiding her over to his car. He opened the trunk and set her guitar case inside after taking it from her. He kissed her again before he let her sit inside. William turned on his engine and the heat and drove home.
Upon their arrival home, Amber got out of the car, stretching as she stood. She moved to the trunk and waited for William to open it so she could grab her case. Once she had, she made her way to the front door of the dorm.
William followed after her, his eyes softening, sleep barely keeping him away from following her every move. The way she walked, or the way she pursed her lips when she was in deep thought, or the way she tucked her hair behind her ears, he followed every movement.
And when they were inside their warm dorm, her gift set on the floor, William claimed her lips once more.
Amber very nearly jumped in surprise, making a soft sound from the shock of it. She hadn't been expecting it, but she definitely wasn't complaining about it. In fact, she was glad for the kiss as she returned it, her lips pressing softly against his as one of her hands found its way into his hair.
William chuckled against her mouth, hands around her, holding her in place. “Someone’s excited,” he muttered teasingly, biting her lip gently.
Amber made a soft sound, tugging her lip from his teeth to murmur back, "Someone surprised me…"
William pulled away before the kiss heated up more than it already had, though he just wanted to continue. “Come on,” he said breathlessly. “Let’s sleep.”
Amber sighed when he pulled away, opening her eyes to look at him softly. "Yeah… Sleep sounds good."
He kissed her on the forehead. “My room?”
