"U-uh…Hi. I-I shouldn't be here so, um, I should leave…" Chris gets up and turns, getting his first look of Dan. Chris' pale blue eyes are alert and he seemed ready to run if anything happened.
"U-uh…Hi. I-I shouldn't be here so, um, I should leave…" Chris gets up and turns, getting his first look of Dan. Chris' pale blue eyes are alert and he seemed ready to run if anything happened.
"It's fine. I don't know why you have to leave. It's a road, not like it is off limits." Dan said looking at him then looking around the area.
"I'm sorry…I'm not used to people really…noticing me." Christian was socially awkward, and he rubbed the back of his neck nervously to help calm him. Would this guy turn me in?
"Oh, ok…. Have fun sitting there." He said then started walking up the road more towards the woods. Though people preferred to stay away from the woods.
"W-wait! Look, I'm sorry. I'm pretty…awkward, and…" Christian hesitates before resuming, "I guess I shouldn't close everyone off, if that makes sense. What I'm saying is…do you mind if I walk with you?" Chris bit his lip, fully expecting denial.
"Um, sure you could walk with me." Dan said smiling. I really hope this guy isn't a psycho murderer. he thought then looked at the forest and the guy. "Just promise you won't kill me."
"What? Why would I? I don't think I could if I tried!" Chris chuckled lightly, and walked towards Dan, folding his hands in front of him. "I don't see a reason to kill you, anyways."
"Well, thanks. I promise I won't kill you either." Dan said and laughed a bit. He started walking towards the forest. The lighting of the forest was different from everywhere else, it was calmer and darker.
"I'm Chris. Sorry about earlier. I'm not normally a social person. Maybe to friends, but I really don't have any." Christian glanced around before self-consciously running his hands through his hair.
Dan nodded. should I say my real name? I have no clue. 50 50 chance or the results. Whatever. He thought, his mind was everywhere, conflicting over the truth or a blunt lie. "I'm Dan. And it is alright, I understand."
"Cool. So, what do you like to do around here? Besides scaring the living daylights out of poor people like me." Christian smiled and let his arms fall at his sides.
"Um sit around do boring business stuff." He replied smiling. "What about you?"
"Spending time away from family, as weird as that may sound. I usually like to read and care for animals when I can as well." Christian seemed comfortable, and he sighed lightly. "I just wish my parents wouldn't pity me."
"I don't see my parents much at all. Why do your parents pity you though?" He asked questioningly.
"Oh. Town burned down. I presume my real family's dead. I got used to living on the streets. That kind of jazz." Chris seemed a bit agitated about the subject, and his voice was dry, emotionless.
"Oh. Sounds rough." Dan replied really not wanting to say sorry, he didn't want the guy to think he was pitying him.
"I'm fine. It isn't too bad. My new family at least gives me the essentials. I mean, some people take it for granted, but I like people who work for what they get." Christian smiled faintly, and his eyes darted around the scenery. "It's really nice here. I come here often when I'm upset, or I can't find much to do."
"Yeah. This place does seem nice. I don't really get out much at all. Not really allowed." He replied looking around and towards the sky.
"Not allowed? What, do your parents hate you or something? Or are they just strict?" Christian was taken aback, and his face was concerned.
"Strict. Cautious I guess. Though they probably mean well, it's-" he stopped mid sentence and quickly pulled Chris behind a tree as some guards rode past.
Chris jerked and his face contorted to an almost scared look when he saw the guards. "Thanks," he whispered. "I'm not necessarily liked by the guards nowadays…"
"Yeah, Guards might like me currently either." Dan whispered back watching as they rode past. There where more than the usual patrol amount. "I wonder what they are going after."
"I don't know. I usually can outrun them on foot, but not when they're on horseback. What do you think they're after?" Chris' eyes sparked with wonder and curiosity.
"Shit, it might be a who, not what." Dan said quickly then stepped away from the tree. He looked around seeing the guards gone.
"Well, who? There hasn't been a criminal around, has there?" It was quite obvious that Chris knew nothing about the fact that Dan was the prince.
