"No, no criminals… I have to go." He said looking around. He was starting to panic. though he could tell that Chris had no idea who he was, he was actually glad of that.

Deleted user

"Oh…okay. See you around then?" Chris liked Dan's company, but he didn't want to force him to be friends with him, or to even acknowledge his existence.

Dan looked at him, "I'm not sure." He said then ran. He ran down the road and looked at the walls. He found a part of the wall he knew was not currently being patrolled and climbed over it. He made it in the walls of the castle, ran over to the side of the castle where his room and window was and got into the room soon enough.

Chris' eyes went sad, and he walked around, kicking rocks in frustration. Did I make him leave?

Deleted user

Dan sat on the floor staring at the ceiling breathing for a second before standing and changing to fancier clothes.

Deleted user

Dammit, Chris. You probably scared him off…
(Any ideas as to how they'd see each other again?)

Deleted user

(Maybe the Prince has to ride around town every week, not optional.)

Dan was changed and went downstairs.

Deleted user

(Okay! Uh…you said Chris instead of Dan…)
Chris sighed as he walked around, eventually finding himself in front of his house. He walks in, and he sees the note instantly.
Christian,
We'll all be attending the festival today. We are expecting you to be there.
Mom + Dad.
Chris growled and headed out. He hated it when his 'parents called him by his real name.

Deleted user

(Yeah, sorry)

Dan was found by some guards they looked him over, making sure he met expectations. They put his crown on him then ushered him to the carriage. On the way they explained his father was too busy to attend and it would be just him and his mother the queen.
Soon enough they arrived in the town square.

The town square was bustling with people, so much so that it was difficult for Chris to find his 'family.' When he did, he looked clearly uncomfortable, and he looked like he would have been anywhere else but there if it weren't for his foster father's kind hand on his shoulder.

Dan got out of the Carriage many guards surrounded them. His mother in the front leading them. Dan smiled like he was happy to be here. He smiled like he wasn't slowly dying inside.

When Chris noticed Dan, he understood. He nodded in his direction, but didn't do or say any more. He was stiff in his family's presence, but he relaxed a little when he saw Dan.

Dan walked just looking forward. He walked to the tent they were going to. He sat down in the chair of his and stayed there. His mother clearly ecstatic to be out and about. All they were really doing here was keeping up appearances and saying hi. The mother smiled at some of the people who waited to say hello.

God, he hates his family just as I do mine… Chris smiled lightly, knowing how he felt. He could tell because his smile was exaggerated, and Chris could spot a phoney smile when he saw one. He stood in line of the people who greeted the prince and his family.

Deleted user

Dan was nice and greeted everyone properly. He shook their hand, made small talk with them and his mother, and that was that. Some of the girls and a few guys who came up where too much, they had major not hard to see crushes.

When Chris came past the prince and his mother, he only shook Dan's hand and nodded, offering a slight smile. "Nice to see you, Prince Daniel." He said it out of modesty, and also because of the fact that he was in public, but Chris acted as if nothing had happened before.

Dan nodded and shook his hand. "Wonderful to meet you, may I ask of your name?" He said. The same lines that he said to everyone else. He didn't care if he already knew his name was Chris he had to ask anyway.

Deleted user

"Christian Williams. Have a nice day." Chris faked a smile, when inside, he'd rather be back on the road, walking with Dan. He couldn't care less if he was the prince or not, but he had to show that he and the prince were but strangers in front of everyone, or his family would question him.

Deleted user

Daniel nodded "I wish you a nice day too." He said. These mentally rehearsed lines that he changed slightly per person, they were just polite.

Deleted user

Will I see you again? Without the fake smile? Without the pretending? Christian sighed once he was far enough from the prince. He doubted it. He doubted it very much. He pretended to have fun the rest of the day, but he really couldn't stop thinking of Dan and him walking in the rain. It had seemed so…natural.

After hours of sitting there greeting people being the perfect prince he could be, the were up walking to the carriage. He hoped to meet Chris again at one point. He was nice, and interesting. He got in the carriage and went to the castle.

Home. A four-lettered word that Chris didn't like. He didn't associate what his foster parents called a home to his home. His home was burned down with the rest of his town. It was evening now, and Chris sat at the table, where his so-called family was to eat dinner.

~The Conversation at the William's Table~
The Mother: "How was your day, Christian?"
Chris: "Fine."
The Mother: "What did you do today?"
Chris: "Stuff."
The Father: "Now, son-"
Chris: "I'm not your son."
The Father: "Christian, could you be more elaborate about your day?"
Chris: "Why would you care?"
The Mother: "Because we care about your well-being."
Chris: "I'm done."
The Mother: "But you've only finished half-"
Chris: "I said I'm done!"
The Father: "Christian! You do not talk to your mother like that!"
Chris: "She isn't my mom!"
Chris goes into his room, slamming the door, and laid in his bed before falling asleep.

When he was back at the castle it was dinner time. He want to the dinning room and sat, it was a large room with many ornate furnishings and decor. He sat there when someone came over and gave him his food, he looked up at her asking his non verbal question. Where are my parents?

"Your father is working, your mother was tired." She replied and walked and stood near the wall.

He nodded and started to eat then stopped. "You may go." He said to her, then he was alone. He sat there in silence eating his food. When he was done he grabbed his plate and brought it into the kitchen, the kitchen staff all stared at him but he ignored their looks. Then he went away to his room.

(Timeskip? Unless you have a plan for Dan to sneak out?)
