If your characters go/went to college what for? If not, any reasons why?
Here’s mine (keep in mind some are specific to the world they live on, and if yours are too that’s ok :D! Also I’m not in college yet and don’t know a lot about it cuz I’m ✨homeschooled✨ Like a loser, so these names might NOT be accurate or reasonable?)
Charlotte Jones
Yes
Major: Poloitical Sciences
Minor: Lavavavia State History/Customs

Autumn Regalmann
No
Why?: She does DO school after school (lol) but it’s studying Paxtillian History and Royal Studies because our girl is a queeeeen (literally)

Bee Clark-Akers
Yes
Major: Political Sciences
Minor 1: Ampére State History/Customs
Minor 2: something like motercycle repair/safety if that’s a thing

Forrest Akers
Yes
Major: Political Sciences
Minor 1: Gaea State History/Customs
Minor 2: Agronomy

CD Akers
No
Why?: Also studying Paxtillian History And Royal Studies because every queen needs a king, tho CD is a bit bummed he won’t be getting to annoy Forrest and Bee everyday if they’d went together lol

Zayn Regalmann
No, which he was very upset about lol
Why?: Paxtillian History, Royal Studies, though curriculum was a bit diffirent with the Balance Charm (smth from my story) hadn’t been a thing before. Zayn kind of just sits there complaining all day because he wanted to get a job and didn’t think about the fact being Grand Duke might get in the way of that.

Why?: Just didn’t want to. She likes her job as a baker and has her own store, it was also a lot of money and with four other siblings yet to go she decided to split her fund given by the Queen between them.

Reece Barron

Royal Studies and Paxtillian History just as the other three. She hates it just as much as her husband if not more so. She just wants to go back home :((

Yes, had started then had to forfeit his studies to join the team, ends up graduating a year before some of the others because of the early start compared to them.
Major(s): Political Sciences and Paxtillian Power Studies (Taken first time, already graduated before joining the team)
Minor: Musical Theatre
(Minor taken during his first time was his States’ histories and so didn’t have to minor in them second time)

uh, I can give you four characters that canonically interact with college

Theresa (19): doesn't attend college as a student, but actually works at one as a model for photography and art majors. bros with the athletes and creative kids. never actually finished high school

Kit (24): also doesn't attend college as a student, but they sometimes join Tess when she goes to Italy to work at the college. hangs out with the dancers and athletes. was given a "high school equivalent" education from the Catholic church that doubled as their group home

Ronan (23): Currently in med school in Hawaii to be a neurosurgeon like his father. half brother of Tess so he sometimes bugs her for help since she's smart and not sleep deprived

Victoria (19): currently a student at the college Tess works at. double majoring in photography/videography and dance. is the reason Tess got her job there

Most of my characters are from fantasy worlds where college isn't a thing. But I do have one story that takes place in modern day Vancouver so:

Dallas (18): Still in high school currently. He wants to have some kind of post secondary education but he's not really sure what he wants to study or where he wants to go. Someone should probably tell him that you don't have to go to college right out of high school because I wish that's what someone had told me If he does go to college, he'll probably go somewhere that's in or around Vancouver.

Andor (25): Andor's been out of college for a couple years now, but he originally came to Vancouver to study abroad. He attended art school and studied illustration. He is now putting that degree to great use by thinking about the comic book he's going to write one day while he makes ends meet as a barista. Does freelance work sometimes too.

Ara (It's a mystery. Late 20s most likely): In the current version of the story he's trying to become a trauma surgeon and is just starting his residency. Wanted to go to McGill since it was closer to home, but ended up at UBC instead because he was able to get a scholarship there (probably will end up back in Quebec at some point though). I tend to change his education status up every now and then, but he's always been 1. trying to become a doctor of some kind and 2. a UBC student.

Next 3 are newer characters so I don't have as much for them but

Holly: Majored in psychology, but is currently in a guitarist in an indie band so she's not exactly putting that degree to good use.

Brian: Has some kind of post secondary education. I feel like he'd be an English major but I haven't really decided yet.

Jackie: Still trying to decide whether she dropped out of college or if she just straight up decided not to go. She's in a band with Holly and Brian, and they're doing pretty well. So she's doing ok despite not having a post secondary education.

My characters go to like a magic college, so this doesn't exactly apply 😂

Naomi enlisted right out of high school and intended to make a career of that. Since she developed raging PTSD two years after re-upping for the first time and was discharged, she's likely mulled over going back to school.
CJ also enlisted right out of high school, but didn't really intend to make a career out of it and took correspondence classes all the while.
Brandee is a pre-law dropout, but also extensively self-taught in various subjects related to building and repairing motor vehicles.
Kieron has at least an associate degree. Still couldn't tell you his major. (He's a security guard with strength athlete aspirations, if that helps.)
The Wannabe Evil Archmage has some sort of degree, probably in either psychology, business marketing, or both.

My characters go to like a magic college, so this doesn't exactly apply 😂

Hey that’s ok! You can still post their classes if you want :D all my characters have magic but they learned in school, not college lol

Jax (20): No
Jax grew up in the bureau ever since he was 12. He started training to fight at 13. His job and secret life make it so he can’t go to college. If he left to go to college, he’d probably be hunted.

Gwen (19): No

She was looking for a college but struggled to get into one. Before she could ever find acceptance, she was nearly killed. Jax rescued her, and she adapted to the same secret life. She would be hunted if she tried to pursue a normal life to go to college.

Valerian (20): No

His life became intertwined with the bureau when he was 15. He went into this secret life as well. Val would also be hunted if he tried to presume a normal life to finish high school and pursuing college.

Jules (124): Yes-ish

I never go into detail about his past, but he kind of when to college. It was a “college” to learn white magic for those who wanted to protect and heal. He learned many forms of Medicine discovered at the time (and he still learns different types to this day). Eventually, he graduated with his mark of healing and an angel guide.

Suffice to say, most of my characters don’t go to college. Demons would sadly hunt and kill them.

Frog: Yes!
They're a magical studies student, but they take art classes as well! They're also a freshmen and rooms with Shiloh, a junior.

Dick: Also yes!
He's a magical studies students as well and a senior, making him the eldest of the students. He rooms with Juniper, a junior.

Juniper: Still yes!
He's an art student, but he's part of the magical creatures program because he's a siren. He rooms with Dick.

Shiloh: Yup!
She's a liberal arts student and also part of the magical creatures program because she's a vampire. She rooms with Frog.

Vanessa & Alex: Nope.
Both of them attended magical college at some point, but they both have since graduated.
