Stone of Destiny

Traditionally, a new monarch is brought before the Stone of Destiny to be recognized by their peers as a new leader of an Insperan kingdom, honoring the treaty that brought peace to Inspera centuries ago. Approval by the three other monarchs signifies their individual kingdom's recognition of leadership and committal to maintaining peace amongst themselves.

Once the potential monarch has gained the approval of their peers, it comes time for the Deities. As tradition dictates, a monarch is usually legitimized by being deemed worthy by the Deities to wield a Seat of Power. Touching the stone, usually with one's feet, and saying a prayer to their deity, a monarch is brought before the mercy of the gods and goddesses in the immortal realm.

If the Deities find the potential monarch unworthy of the Seat of Power, they are struck down immediately. A creature only wanting the Seat of Power for any reason other than dedicating themselves to protecting the flow of time and peace throughout Inspera is stripped of their life by the insulted Deities.

If the Deities find them worthy, however, they are blessed with a long reign akin to immortality, should they always choose protecting peace and time over all else.
