The Candy Realm

Once this place was a Domain of Dread dedicated to hunger; its ruler was never satisfied, always demanding more food.

Most of the adjoining realms were content to let this be. Every now and again some travelers would get lost on the way and end up there, but the Domain usually took from the Material to satisfy its needs and that was fine.

But as is so often the case, time changes things. The Material grew sick of losing ground and lives to the Domain and a precursor group to The Adventurer's Guild sent people in to deal with it. Specially trained individuals who could resist the Domain's powers and slay it's leader; a journey that would cost all five their lives.

Yet the Domain's leader was slain and the power vacuum that followed was a vast one. Those who remained tried to fight for dominance, adjoining realms sent their own forces, and the fighting went on for many years as no faction had enough power to overpower another. Alliances formed but fell apart as soon as they gained power because no one wanted to give it to another.

Then the Citadel of the Astral Fairys fell, and the race itself was scattered. Several found their way into the old Domain and saw an opportunity to take over. Banding together six rulers were able to overthrow everyone else and take their place, and in turn the Domain of Dread was transformed into a Fey Realm instead.

This Realm is now known as The Candy Realm, a place full of happiness and pastels and candy. Most who visit say it's quite lovely, though over time the other five rulers have vanished and only The Candy Queen remains. She will not speak of the others, and banishes those who do too much digging.
