About The Goddess of Terre
The Goddess of Terre
Terra wears many faces, and the lore and myth surrounding her is some of the most contradictory amongst all of the deities. Perhaps that is in large part due to the prevalence of her worship in the kingdom of Falias, noted for its disjointed communes. Each community claims a different face of Terra as its own. For some she is a maternal figure, protective and nurturing, though resolute and strong in convictions. For others she is more foreboding, prone to fickle and catastrophic fits.
The most agreed upon trait regarding the Goddess of Terra is her loving, giving nature. All the good in life can be traced back to her, like food and wine and the vivid beauty of the world around you. Generally, those residing in harsher climates tend to see the more transactional side that comes hand and hand with that bounty, however. With a moment's displeasure the earth itself can rip the fortune right out of your hands, can refuse to yield or grow and lay civilizations to ruin.
Terra, with her many faces, doesn't seem to prefer one kind of people, or one kind of worship. Her one tenant instead appears to be to appreciate the gifts she has given, lost they be taken away.
