Much like the continent that houses the kingdom of Vacuo, much of the country is desolate, hot, and inhospitable to any but the most foolish or foolhardy of people. While the continent still has tiny pockets of what were once vast oasis, the kingdom itself is largely comprised of the remnants of environmental devastation due to an ever increasing exploitation of outside kingdom's interests.
There is no clear distinction between the kingdom itself and the rest of the continent that surrounds it, as the desert provides a natural barrier to potentially hostile forces.
