Chosen One

In every species deemed adequately advanced and magically capable, a single Chosen One is hand-picked by The Creator at birth. Their purpose is to create a place to store the extra energy that was left when the universe was first created, thus evening out its balance, while also acting as an energy reserve should the total amount of magic in Zeta start to drop due to some unforeseen catastrophe. The selection of a Chosen One is not dependent on the being's Balance of Light and Darkness, nor does the title affect this balance in any way aside from effects of the Chosen One's own actions after realizing their role.

There aren't any hard rules for who can be selected, but they tend to have mentally stable personalities and a knack for spellcasting in general. A Chosen One is more likely to have larger elemental Soul Cores for stronger spells than average, but their powers go beyond simple increased strength: the most recognizable ability in their arsenal is the Release Form.
