Eve struggled for consciousness gritting her teeth with each she couldn't fall asleep not now not around him there's no telling what he'd do

"Fourteen. Fifteen. Sixteen." he continues.

Eve whined quietly trying to move herself away from him as much as possible, kicking him anything to get him to stop

"Seventeen. Eighteen. Nineteen. Twenty."

Jona smirks and pauses. "How much longer do you think you can last?"

"Just stop, please!" She cried turning her face away from him her body trembling

Jona grins.

"Twenty-one. Twenty-two. Twenty-three."

"Jona!" She couldn't take the pain anymore, her heart was beating nearly out of her chest and the couldn't breathe she felt like she was having a heart attack

"Twenty-four. Twenty-five. Twenty-six. Twenty-seven. Twenty-eight. Twenty-nine. Thirty. Thirty-one. Thirty-two. Thirty-three. Thirty-four. Thirty-five. Thirty-six. Thirty-seven. Thirty-nine. Fourty." he says, a bit annoyed and mystified.

Eve stopped moving after about thirty slashes hanging limply the the chains hardly breathing it was hard to tell whether or not she passed out due to the pain or blood loss

Jona smirks and unchains Eve, bandaging her wounds. Wouldn't want her dying, after all.

He tosses her back in the cage and walks away.

Eve fell on the ground with a thud not moving not even making a sound she laid there for what felt like hours before she finally woke up

Later, Jona returns. He's carrying a familiar bag.

From it, he pulls an air mattres, two pillows and a comforter. He puts them into the cage along with a few canned goods.

Eve jerked up wincing a little and backed up trying to keep away from him

"Don't worry. You get a bit of rest before we continue. But we will continue."

She still stayed away from him curled up in the corner of the cage looking up at him

Jona gestures to the bedding and food.

"Three days. That is all."

"What do you want from me."

"For you to break."

"why? Why did you choose me, why did you have to come to my house and pretend to be my friend. I just wanted a normal life." Her voice broke and she looked up at him with tears in her eyes unable to speak anymore

Jona's face grows distant.

"You know, I wasn't always like this. At one point, at least. But do you know what happens when you're forced to die, and die, and die? To be forced to suffer through every possible manner of death?" he mutters. "No, you don't. But I'll tell you this: it is far, far less painful than what will happen to you."

With that, he turns and blinks away.

Eve stared at him terrified not understanding what he was talking about and was even more frightened when he disappeared she curled up in a ball in the corner she cried and cried until she had no more tears left and her body felt numb and her lungs burned

The next day, Jona returns to check on Eve.

"I hope you're finding that these items have no extra little twists."

Eve hadn't moved from her spot him the cage she was asleep when he walked in and jerked awake when he heard him talk glancing around the room her eye stopped as soon as she saw him and her heart racing

"Just use the damn bedding. It won't kill you."

"There's no point in getting used to it if your going to take it away."
