Tamryn flipped through the papers which were his assignments as he walked down the dark hallway of the school, the only light being given off by some lit rooms where few students stayed behind to study.
It was very late but some students decided to stay at school till it was seven am, doing their work. He stopped, looking into one of the rooms, there was a kid sitting and reading a book with his earbuds in. Occasionally he would write down something and then flip a page. Tamryn had done that once, stayed at school, studied for a bit, but had fallen asleep writing down his notes. It wasn't until it was well past seven am and a new class was beginning to take place that he had been woken up by a teacher. After that day he swore to never do that again. He had missed work because of it and in return had gotten in trouble.
Tamryn tore his eyes away and kept walking, bringing his backpack under his arm to shove his papers into. It was always partially zipped and he never used both straps which annoyed some because at any given moment all his stuff could fall out. He was never one to be organized and could care less if anything got messed up.
Tamryn made his way down the stairs and pushed open the door out into the cold night.
He let out a sigh, he had an hour to kill before he went to his job. Tamryn started down the street. Usually, he would go home and sleep right away, but something told him he should keep himself awake until it was ready to go to work. After all, if he went to sleep now he would wake up pissed and even more tired than how he felt now. It was better to get something to wake him up, like those little potions they sold in gas stations that gave you energy for five hours, energy shots. Yes, those. He needed one of those.
As he was deep into thought, he felt someone bump him at the hip, he turned to yell at the person who had bumped into him but stopped when he saw Ryland and his huge grin. Great.
"One drink" Was all he said, not even bothering to say a simple hi. "Doesn't even have to be alcoholic, just like soda or something" He offered.
"You're persistent. I've already told you, one, I'm straight, and not to mention I have work in a bit so I don't have time to go places with you" Tamryn explained.
"What? You're gonna go home and do your homework?" Ryland asked.
"No, but I'm sure as hell not spending my time with you" He let out a small laugh as if making fun of Ryland, though he said this, he was definitely starving and wouldn't mind going out somewhere with Ryland, but he wanted to see how far he could push this to get Ryland to leave him alone without making him too upset.
Ryland however was not offended and simply kept up with Tamryn. He was quiet for a second, before chiming up again.
"How about breakfast? I'll pay" He said cheerfully, if there was anything he was good at was getting others to accompany him to things if he offered to pay, it's how he lured others into spending time with him.
"Do you even have any money? You told me you don't even work so how are you going to pay?" Tamryn asked.
"I have money," Ryland said smiling but didn't elaborate where he was getting it from. Tamryn looked at him suspiciously. Ryland didn't work so what was he doing to get money? Whatever it was, he didn't want someone paying with money they had gotten in dirty ways.
"No thanks, I'll pass," Tamryn said stopping at a street light and waiting for it to change.
Ryland's smile faded a little, but never completely. He stood silently beside Tamryn. He was a little bummed out that Tamryn didn't want to go get something with him, he never did. He had been nice to him before when he had beat up the kids who were picking on him. Ryland didn't know the reason why Tamryn had done it, but he had done it nonetheless and no one had ever done something that kind for him before. Tamryn in actuality, hadn't done it for Ryland, the people who had been picking on Ryland had also been the ones that were messing with him since he seemed like a loner and had no one. So he went to give them a piece of his mind, which worked like a charm. Tamryn had done other small things for Ryland though, it was usually to make up for the fact that he had made Ryland really upset. He would do things like walk home with him when Ryland asked and tell him happy birthday when it was his birthday and buying him a bracelet. It had made Ryland incredibly happy and he wore it every day. It made Ryland like Tamryn even more even though these things were minor. The bar was really low for him.

Ryland got a little closer to Tamryn, still not saying anything.
"Why do you do that? Stop getting so close to me."
Truth was, Ryland wanted someone to hold him, it had been a while and he was touch starved, it felt lonely being used all the time. Yeah, that's right. He knew he was being used for his money and other benefits but what else was he supposed to do? No one really wanted to ever hang out with him or even be around him.
"How much do I have to give you for you to eat out with me?" He asked softly, a strained smile on his face. It was hard keeping up the happiness when he got rejected by the person he liked. Tamryn was the closest thing he had to a true friend and all he wanted to do was talk and eat and have fun. He wanted a real connection with someone.
"About 5k, something you don't have," Tamryn said seriously, but joking at the same time.
Ryland took his phone out. If he did a lot of small jobs here and there, he could save up enough to give to Tamryn, but it would take months and he wanted to do things with Tamryn much sooner. If….let's say he stopped paying his apartment, he would end up on the streets, but surely he could figure something out? Or he could open a credit card and take out a loan, then pay if off slowly.
Tamryn narrowed his eyes when Ryland fell silent as if he were actually considering it.
"You're an idiot. This is why no one wants to be friends with you, you're too desperate. So much so to the point where you'll do anything anyone asks you just to get a bit of human contact. Stop it." Tamryn scolded.
Seeing the look on Ryland's face, like he was going to cry, yet that stupid smile still on his face, made Tamryn unreasonably angry. It made him feel like a bad person like he had done something to Ryland, and he wasn't. He wasn't a bad person.
"Cry and I'll cut all contact with you." Tamryn threatened, giving him a death glare. Ryland squeezed his phone and looked away.
"I'll eat with you. But I'm choosing the place" Tamryn said, at last, to which Ryland snapped his attention back to Tamryn, eyes wide. What had he done to get Tamryn to change his mind? Did he convey enough how much he wanted to hang out with him? Or was he being nice again?
Thing was, Tamryn liked feeling wanted, he had never been put first, it was always God that was put first by his parents and family. They never put him first or thought of him or even invited him to things. He felt loved yes, but he wasn't a priority, he was put second. So having someone be so infatuated with him made him feel like he mattered just a little bit. And he wanted to keep that. Tamryn didn't know this but even if he treated Ryland like trash and didn't consider him a friend, he was stuck with him, and he had already grown to like him a lot.
If he had to eat out with Ryland to keep him around then he would definitely do that, he didn't want to lose the only person who made him feel good about himself. Because it had almost happened once. Ryland leaving. The trick was to give out just a little bit to keep them hooked, enough kindness to make them like you and stay but not too much so that they kept doing things for you, going above and beyond to get that little bit of kindness in return again. This seemed especially true with Ryland. No fool would keep up this game, but Ryland liked him too much at this point, so he didn't mind.

Jesse and Zander continue to walk down the hall, their guns now out. They hold them down towards the ground with both hands, loaded and ready to shoot if need be.
The girls hear voices, about four in the other room, though they could never be too sure.
“Theyre in the next room. Let’s find the dog and go.” Jesse states, her eyes stay near where the voices are coming from.
Zanders' eyes, on the other hand scan across the room, focusing near the back. Where little light touched and where the air turned colder than it already was. The dogs were quieter back there, which made Zander’s chest heavy as they head over there.
Making sure to be as quiet as possible, the women reach the last row of metal cages. The cages numbered and categorized by letters and numbers, the last row being row G, numbered one through ten.
Jesse looks down to the number written on her hand. Number nine.
“Nine. Let’s go” she says, walking down the narrow pathway, looking at the dogs in the cage, growling at the two. Soon they stop at one of the last cages in the row, set in a far corner.
Inside stood a large brindle patterned, looking to be the size slightly bigger than a mastiff but resembling a large pitbull. It’s cage was far too small for it, but that only made him look bigger than she thought. She knew what breed he most likely was, but didn’t say anything just yet, not wanting Zander to freak out any more.
She takes in a deep breath, Zander shaking her head. “No Jesse. They didn’t say anything about its size did they?” she asks
Jesse lets out a scratchy sigh “no they didnt. But job is a job” she says, pulling a thick metal chain out of her pocket before bending down to the cage, looking at Zander then to the dog. She slips a flashlight and shines it on the dog. He was beautiful to say the least. His orange eyes shone back at her and his sharp teeth shone white as his lips pulled back, low growls coming deep from his throat. Zander pulls out her gun, pointing it at the dog but not daring to shoot. Not unless Jesse told her to.
“They dont put locks on these things?” Zander grumbles, upset about the whole situation. Jesse only shrugs, her flashlight set on the ground and the chain in her other, free hand.
The dog already had a metal pronged collar, the “spikes” ' going inwards towards the dogs throat. Which sadly, worked in Jesse’s favor.
She pulls the latch up, lifting the cage door and swinging it open, quickly stepping back.
As soon as the cage door opens, the dog lunges out and at Jesse, it’s teeth bared and it’s eyes locked onto her. She was ready, but not as ready as she thought she was.
Her heart races, thumping against her chest as well as Zanders. She didn’t want to shoot the dog but if it was the dog or Jesse, she would choose Jesse any day. Though she would choose Jesse over anything any day. No questions asked. And even though Jesse didn’t ask for it, Zander would stay by her side for as long as she’s alive.

The dog jumps at Jesse, aiming for her leg first. She steps back, though kicking the dog with her steel toed boots in the face. The dog falls back, whimpering loudly. Though he quickly gets back up, shaking it off and growling at her, still on all fours.
She keeps the chain in her hand, ready to latch it onto the collar, but she didn’t exactly plan this whole thing out.
How would she get it out of here? Maybe she could use it’s aggression to her advantage and get out through the back, pushing through the crowd. Though it would draw too much attention. The opposite of what she wanted.
This time, Jesse stumbles back as the dog leaped at her, knocking her to the ground. “I got it!” She says quickly to Zander so she doesn't shoot. Though it takes every ounce of self control for Zander not to.
She puts her forearm up in front of her face as the dog tries to bite down on her. Instead of letting it bite her arm, she turns her arm towards it’s gaping jaws and shoves her fist down its throat as hard as she can. Zander keeps her gun on the dog, but takes the chain from Jesse and snaps it on the dogs collar as it focuses on ripping her face off.
As the dog pulls back, its throat tightens before gagging, pulling it’s mouth away from Jesse. Zander twists the collar of the dog, closing the metal around its throat but not enough to make it pass out. She didn’t want to hurt it when she didn’t need to.
Jesse quickly jumps to her feet, looking down at her wet arm, saliva and blood now covering her arm. Not minding too much, having dealt with much worse.
The dog heaves, coughing as it tries to throw up, and eventually doing so. They both step aside as the giant animal throws up the contents of its stomach.
Zander resists gagging, trying not to look away in case the dog attacks again. Though it doesn’t seem like it does.
(i would write more but theres alot so-small time skip)
__
Eventually, Jesse and Zander are able to get outside and into the area she parked her truck.
It was a dark black truck with large tired and a large bed. Inside of the bed, a large metal cage sat inside.
Jesse holds the unconscious dog over both of her shoulders like a long potato sack, breathing steadily and carefully.
As Zander unlocks and opens the cage, she carefully sets the dog inside, making the truck shift a little on the uneven ground. Once the cage was secure on the truck and shut, she pushes the tailgate up and rounds the truck, hopping in and starting it. She pulls back out, leaning her left arm out of the window as she looks behind to make sure she wouldn't ram into anything.
After about a thirty minutes out, Jesse pulls into a trailer park, where she has an RV parked near the back and a heavily fenced in back yard nearby as well.
Somewhere along the way, the dog in the truck woke up but it stays heavily sedated and sleepy, laying down in the back. Jesse turns off the car as its parked in front of the RV and turning to Zander, who was now leaning against the window, asleep. Jesse sighs, opening the door and rounding the vehicle to Zander’s side.
She opens the door, letting Zander jerk awake as she begins to fall, though Jesse catching her just in case she hurt herself. She looks up to Jesse “what was that for?” she asks, frustrated.
Jesse chuckles, “Did you want me to wake you up like princess?” she asks jokingly, leaning forward and puckering her lips to Zander.
Zander rolls her eyes, placing a kiss on Jesse’s lips as she leans into the doorway. “Id be worried if you did” she says with a laugh, kissing her again, her hand running up to Jesse’s hair.
Jesse takes a deep breath in as she kisses Zander back, her other hand on her hip as she pulls her out of the car. Though the dog in the back rolls over in the cage, tipping the truck to the side just a little, causing both of the women to look towards the bed of the truck, letting out a sigh simultaneously.
“Lets get inside” Zander says, her arms now wrapped around the back of her neck. Jesse rolls her eyes “fine.” she says, pulling her carefully the rest of the way out of the truck, hands on her waist. “Ill get the dog. You can go inside” Jesse says, letting go of her and stepping away.
“Fine fine” she says, both of her hands falling to her sides “be careful please” she says, taking her hand and giving it a soft squeeze before heading inside.

Soon, Jesse’s able to get the drowsy dog into the fenced in backyard, chaining it up to a tree that stood inside of it. Now tied up securely, Jesse steps inside of the large trailer. In the backroom, Zander slips off her blazer and heels, kicking them to the side before falling onto the bed and pulling the sheets over herself.
Jesse changes quickly and heads into the restroom. She pulls out the small drawer and pulls out one of Zander’s makeup wipe, then going into the bedroom and sitting on the edge of the bed.
Rolling over, Zander looks up to Jesse “whatchya got there?” she asks, sitting up. Jesse turns to her, holding the cloth out to her. In which she only leans forward “you do it. Im too tired Jesse”
She sighs, “i hate doing it” she says as she places a hand on the side of Zanders face and trying her best to wipe the makeup off of her face. The black eyeliner and mascara smearing a little on her face and Jesse does a rather bad job of making matters better.
Zander laughs a little “you forgot something babe” she says, opening her eyes, now covered in black smudges. She nods “right” she says, reaching up and pulling off her false lashes, setting them on the nightstand before returning to wiping the makeup off of her face.
Running the damp cloth along her black lips, Zander puckers her lips once again “im not kissing you with that smeared everywhere”
She huffs “what? You dont love me?” Zander asks, crossing her arms. Jesse sets a kiss on her forehead before setting the makeup wipe on her head “sure”

Min-Hyuk is jerked up from the ground and walked towards the police cars up front. He lets out a cough as he’s shoved into the backseat, a hand on his head as he ducks down.
The door slams shut and he flinches, the cuffs pressing onto his wrists behind him as he leans back in the seat. The car starts after the officers get inside the vehicle, pulling out of the hospital driveway and heading down to the police station.
What was he going to tell his sister?
How was he going to tell her?
When would he be able to tell her?
Will he ever see her again?
Of course he was. RIght? He wasn’t going to be immediately arrested. He still needed to go to court and be questioned and-and…..
Min-Hyuk couldn’t think straight. He could barely think at all.
His cheeks were hot as well as his eyes, the tears not falling down his face anymore but it still stung as if they were. He pulls his legs up to the edge of the seat and sets his chin on his knees, then his forehead now looking down to his lap.
After what felt like forever, they pull up to the police station and he’s taken in. He hangs his head low and doesn’t look up, not caring where he was being taken anymore.
He was brought into a room for his picture to be taken, a small board with his information was handed to him. He stood in front of a camera and is told to look up. It’s hard to show his face but he slowly raises his chin and looks at the camera. A bright light flashes in his eyes before he turns to the left, and then to the right, flinching every time the light flashes at him.
Next, he’s brought into a room where his finger prints will be taken. His thumb first is pressed onto an inkpad by one of the officers and then onto a paper. This is done with all of his fingers before he’s sat down to be searched.
First they check around his head, in his mouth, ears, and in his hair. Next they stand him up and pat him down before strip searching him.
After confiscating his belongings and any potential weapons he carried, he’s given a change of clothes. Next a health check.
He’s sat down in a small office with a smaller lady, a large officer standing beside the door.
“Min-Hyuk? Im gonna ask you a few questions hun. Alrighty?” The lady sits in her chair with a clipboard and a pencil. He nods.
“Okie dokie, perfect. Now, it says here that you’ve been diagnosed with a number of things. Im gonna read them off to you and id like you to tell me if one, if these are correct with a simple yes or no answer, and two, if you’re currently taking any medication for these. Can you do that for me?” she asks, swiping a piece of brown hair out of her face.
He nods.
“Okay first is schizophrenia and paranoia disorder. You were diagnosed at the age of fifteen. Is this correct?”
He nods.
“It says here you were prescribed medication for this. Have you ever taken them?”
He shakes his head.
“Okay” she takes in a deep breath “bipolar disorder, anxiety, and depression and post traumatic stress disorder, also known as PTSD. All of these things you were diagnosed at the age of fourteen?”
He nods.
“You've been prescribed medication for these as well. Have you taken them?”
He nods.
“Oh?”
“I did.” he states quietly. His voice is low and scratchy, some would call it weak.
“When did you stop taking them?” she asks
“It was too much money. I couldn’t afford them”
“Thank you for telling me why. But may i ask when?” she asks again.
“My friend…..he was…” he looks away, eyes swelling up with tears. “He payed for the medication because we couldn’t. He’s dead now though” he says bluntly with a shrug.
The nurse raises her brows, though they soon turn into a furrow. “Im sorry…for your loss. When did he pass?”
“I don't know” Min-Hyuk lies.
“Okay…. Im going to take your blood and run a few tests. This is called a health check. Are you familiar with what this is?” she asks
Min-Hyuk nods. “Yes ma’am” he says quietly, blinking away his tears. “Do whatever you want. I won’t murder you dont worry” he states.

After his blood is taken and multiple tests have been run, he’s taken down a hall in the back and placed in a holding cell. Where he’s sat down and locked up until he’s questioned.

Lucky thought about a lot of things that night under the stars. The snow was crisp, the air was clear, the moon was bright, and the flickering of the fire made him just a little emotional.
He thought about his sister back in Germany. Sweet little Marie. She wasn't so little anymore, and neither was he, but his baby sister would always be his baby sister. When they had been little kids, she used to pretend that she was a princess, and he was her brave knight swooping in to rescue her. Sometimes it was from dragons, sometimes it was from an evil kingdom, sometimes it was from an ugly prince who wanted to marry her….

And sometimes it was from very angry parents.

Those had been the nights they would snuggle in the same bed. Lucky could remember his sister trembling as she clung on to him, while his mother yelled and threw things downstairs. His dad was always quiet, but his anger would come out in smaller, more subtle ways.

He remembered the day the courts had said they would go with his mom, and how scared he'd been. How he'd pleaded with the judge to let him go with his dad, that his sister didn't want to go with his mom, that they didn't want to go to Germany. The judge didn't listen.

Lucky failed to save his sister that day.

They moved to Germany and Marie made new friends. She fit in at school and seemed happy. She got used to the hustle and bustle of the city, the noise of cars lulling her to sleep at night, the bright lights and loud music of downtown.

Lucky never did.

He was so frustrated with it all, his health started to suffer. He was 7 and depressed. His mother saw the change and did everything to help him, but nothing changes. Finally, she listened to what he'd been telling her for years, and sent him back to his father in France.

Sent him home.

@EldritchHorror-Davadio health_and_safety emoji_events

That was a happy memory that put a smile on Lucky's face, there in the snow. He remembered how glad he'd been that she had let him go.

How lucky he had felt.

And how he'd decided to keep that feeling alive forever with a nickname.

He also remembered the day his mom had remarried. He'd tried to save his sister from the ogre, be the knight in shining armor again, but…. the princess no longer wanted saving.
He was glad that Marie and his stepdad got along so well, but Lucky had never liked the man, and the feeling was mutual. His mom had tried to have them bond, tried to help them be close, but Lucky could never shake the feeling that something was off about the man.

Lucky didn't like the way he looked at Marie.

But his mom didn't notice, and Marie enjoyed the attention. Lucky got into more fights with them all, and finally into a fistfight with his stepdad. He'd beaten the man bloody, breaking his nose and splitting his lips, before somebody had pulled him off.

That's when his mom had sent him back to France for good.

He'd lived with his dad since, making regular trips to meet up with Marie, who still wanted him around, the sweet girl. She had come on a couple trips with them, and it made Lucky so happy to see her running barefoot through the grass, her hair blowing in the wind, giggling. Just like they were kids again. Like old times.

That had been before his dad had died.

Thomas went out for a run as he decided to circle the perimeter for any danger that could be happening this, well, could it called late at night or early in the morning? Either way he decided he would make sure everyone was safe and there was nothing he could do to help just get his mind off of the fact that he really missed his brother…and the nightmare really didn't help.
He let out a deep sigh as he jogged around the block of the neighborhood, making sure to keep straight on the sidewalk and never go into the road just incase some crazy driver came and decided he wanted a road bump.
He was needed at work and couldn't afford to get hurt incase he got on call it he needed to replace someone else on shift that happened to get hurt or stuck in a situation they couldn't get out of to help.
He took a swig of his water bottle as he stopped on the corner taking in deep breaths of air as well. He wasn't really winded by the small jog he just made sure to keep his breathing steady incase he accidentally went faster then he was supposed too.
He made his way back to his house as he admired the stars in the sky with some of the lights off from their world.

@EldritchHorror-Davadio health_and_safety emoji_events

Lucky wished he'd been to Wyoming before, as he lay there staring at the stars. The fact he would forever associate this place with grief was unfortunate. It was so pretty here, but he'd come here to be sad.
Dad's funeral had been difficult. Mostly because his mom had made it hard. She had wept and wailed like a woman who still cared, and the hypocrisy had angered Lucky more than he'd been angry in a long time.
Marie had cried quietly, genuinely, but couldn't understand his frustration with their mother. And of course, his stepdad had been no help at all, sitting sullenly in the back like it was a chore for him to even be there.
Lucky had been ready for it to be over from the beginning.
He'd held his own service for Dad on their small farm, with the animals and the ancient farm equipment his father loved so much. Sinjoro had nuzzled him for hours that day, trying to cheer him, but it was as if something in his chest had burst open, and taken his ability to smile with it.
His mother had made it worse at the graveside. After all that, she had stepped up to Lucky and put her arm around him.
"Lukas… you still have me." He glanced at her, not really wanting that reassurance. She sniffed and tried a joke. "I guess this makes me your favorite parent, huh?"
He didn't have the heart to tell her the truth.
He dearly loved his mom, but she made things sooo… complicated. If Marie didn't still live with her, he wasn't sure he'd visit very much.
The one saving grace about the funeral had been Tante Sophia and Uncle Tim. They had come all the way to France to the funeral. Tante Sophia was Dad's only sibling, and they'd kept up a close phone relationship across the ocean over the years. Uncle Tim always chipped in horse tips for Sinjoro, and had told Lucky repeatedly "Any time you wanna visit, Nephew, come one out. Plenty of room for ya here!"
He'd said it once more that night, with a little more gentleness.
"Lucky… come visit us. You and Marie both if she wants to."
"Uncle Tim, you don't have to offer tha-"
"No, I insist. Please." He had leaned in, smiling a little. "We got mountains and wide open plains like you've never seen over here. Sinjoro could run for days and we could still see you." He had put a hand on Lucky's shoulder. "Come on over, buddy. We'll help pay your way, you and the horse and Marie."
Lucky had just nodded, trying to smile, but just feeling numb.
He'd felt worse when Marie said no.
She wanted to stay where things were familiar. Where she knew people and had support. He could understand that. He'd promised he would see her as soon as he got back.
And that's how he'd wound up in Wyoming, under the stars on this crisp snowy night, waiting for the sunrise and wondering if Dad could still see it too.

(Howdy. I feel weird posting a character sheet in the middle of writings, lol.)

Name: Lazarus Rivers (Laz)

Age: 18

Gender/pronouns: Male (He/him)

Sexuality: Bi

Shipping: If you want to

Appearance: Laz is half Japanese. He’s 5’7, about 140 pounds, and has wild, wavy, medium-length dark brown hair. He tries to tame it, but it never works out. Sometimes it gets in his eyes during yard work. He has a round face and brown almond-shaped eyes. Laz has a dainty nose. He has olive skin and a scrawny build. Laz wears a lot of light clothing with jeans. He has a favorite pair of work boots and sneakers. He wears a little locket with a picture of him and his mother. Laz has a forearm crutch due to weakness in his right leg. Kinda like Viktor from Arcane. Except, Laz didn't really like walking with a cane. He also totes around a messenger bag for school and outside adventures.

Personality: I don’t have much on him, but I’ll tell you what I have. Laz is a good kid who helps his father around the house. He does have a snippy side to him and needs time to cool down in order to think. Laz has great deduction skills. He’s practical, self-confidant, and committed. Laz’s hardworking.

Backstory: Laz was born in Virginia and has resided in Virginia ever since. His mom, Renée, was a college student in Japan who had moved to the US for various reasons. While out on the town, she met Laz’s dad, Enoch. Enoch made Renee feel at home in the world she’s felt lonely in for a long time. Somehow, they came to get married. Anyway, Laz was born on a fall day in 2000 (Like sometime in November). His childhood was pretty normal. Doing some tinkering with his dad and having picnics by the lake with his mom. Although, he had trouble keeping up with over kids. When he was 7, Laz broke his left ankle. He was pretty upset being confined to bed rest, but it was a lesson in patience. Unfortunately, his life took a big turn. Around when Lazarus was the age of 10, a wild bear attacked his mother while his family was out on a hike. Enoch told his son to run off trying to save his wife, to no prevail. Instead, he grabbed Laz and ran back home. After that event, Laz had been helping his father. His father’s friend, Pepper, occasionally helped around the house, but has been majorly absent since Laz turn 16.
